dipolley got a reaction from Schell21 in Interior smoke-smell. Help!
All great advice. Here is how I go about it in my shop. It isn't about what is done but more about the order and how we go about doing it.

    1) Remove the cabin air filter(s).
    2) Clean all hard surfaces with Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner (under the seats, under the dash, in the vents, everywhere).
    3) Remove the seats from teh vehicle and clean undeneath with Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner.
    4) With a light mist, treat the carpet and seats with Adam's Carpet and Upholstry Cleaner in spray mode on the sprayer, agetate, and let set for 5 to 10 minutes.
    5) Use an extractor with Adam's Carpet and Upholstry Cleaner added to the hot water and clean the carpets and seats. (do not us an extractor on the head liner)
    6) Pull up the carpet up, where you can, and clean the underside and clean the floor pan with Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner.
    7) Treat the headliner with Adam's Carpet and Upholstry Cleaner as directed on the bottle.
    8) When everything has dried, treat the interior with a an odor elimintaor designed to encapsulate odor molecules (something like Ozium). Spray the underside of the carpets, under the seats, the headliner, in the air vents, under the dash, EVERYWHERE. Be liberal.
    9) Reinstall the seats following manufacturer recomendations for bolt torque specifications.
    10) Start the vehicle, roll up the windows, turn on the A/C, and set to recirculate. Spray the odor eliminator liberally (you may want to use an odor "bomb") and let the car run for about 10 minutes with doors shut and you NOT in the car. This will allow the odor eliminator to get the smell out of the ventilation system.
    11) Replace the cabin air filter with a new filter.
    12) Treat the interior with Adam's Leather conditioner (you can use this on all hard interior panels, it is not just for leather).
    13) Clean or replace your floor mats. Contact Adam's for Weathertech Floor Mats.

    Hope this helps.

That is an amazing example. Thanks for sharing.

I had a customer last fall that said she tried everything on her Escalade leather. She had some hard stains, including coffee, on the tan leather. 3 minutes with LIC and the interior microfiber towel and the stains were gone. This is the best product I have used on leather. Combined with the conditioner, you cannot go wrong.

Thank you Kingsford for the plug!  Dealers are def. a good option when Adam's is low on supply.  We offer FREE shipping on orders over $95, so that should help anyone not local!  We try to stay loyal to Adam, but carry a couple discontinued items, as well as a couple other branded products.

In deed you can Jim. The reason the votes are at less than 500 for most is that you are only allowed to vote once PER EMAIL ADDRESS. So most people log in with fb and vote and that is it. Done. This way you don't have the same people voting over and over again skewing the results.

Winning this is not only a feather in my cap but it really helps drive traffic to our website and gain some SEO standings. That is really what it means to us. Just competing has already allowed us to add a staff member with the increased traffic flow and sales. I want to add another team member but for that we need more revenue. This contest helps me meet those goals by reaching more potential clients.

It is not all about winning a popularity contest, but about growing a business and creating more jobs. And buying more Adam's Products to put in the hands of insane people like us.

Thanks everyone for you support. I cannot express how much it means to us.

I guess I already had an account there.  Had to reset my forgotten email  So I must have voted in the past and I do not remember any rogue emails from there.  Also I saw some of the other categories.  It appears there are less then 500 votes for most categories, so we can probable do some good here.

Well shine freaks, a little update and thanks. We are in the last week of this contest and I want to thank everyone who voted for us. Being as it is the last week we can no longer see the standings. Running totally blind. This is our final push. At last check we were only a dozen or so votes behind the leader. So if you have 2 minutes you can log in with a facebook log in and vote to support a local Adam's distributer get a little more recognition and help get some more Adam's products in hands and on some cars.

Thanks again everyone for you support.

That thing will be making them money within months - the inside is "rented" to cell companies, who will pay a LOT of $$$ for space inside/outside something like that, depending on the location.

    Update*

I sprayed Quick Sealant on the leading edges, waited a few minutes and wiped with a super soft towel. Like I stated earlier, I keep my paint well cleaned and waxed and normally bugs are bugs, not ridiculously hard to get off but still takes some elbow grease.

The bugs are noticeably easier to remove after the QS application. Quick and easy pre-trip step for the future.

Here is what we do for our clients and has been recommended on the forums for years by other pro detailers.

1st layer is either Quick Sealant or Paint Sealant (Or Machine Super Sealant if you still have any). This is you base coat. Then add a layer of Buttery Wax or Americana. Then spray Quick Sealant on the leading edges of your car.
Here is the reason why. You first layer of sealant will bond to the finish of your car and be your primary means of protecting your paint. The second layer of wax applied to the first layer of sealant will give you more shine and depth and act as a second layer of protection. Now here is the fun part. The top layer of Quick Sealant will not bond properly to the wax, and this is what we want. As you take hits by bugs and debris on your trip they will hit that top layer of QS. When you wash your car at your destination the bugs should come off easily along with the top layer of QS. It is a sacrificial barrier. Once clean, respray with QS for your trip home.
Also make sure you are applying Glass Sealant. This will help with cleaning your windshield.
    Hope this helps.

Try using a yellow foam pad with fine machine or paint correcting polish and use 3-4 squirts of Detail Spray and step down to about 4200 OPMs. You may need to "half step" it. A stiffer pad combined with a finer polish may give you better results. The extra detail spray will add a bit more lubrication. This method has work for me on many many vehicles.

Also, make sure you are removing any residue from the pad. After you cause the polish to flash, spray the pad down with detail spray and wipe clean with a utility MF towel.
