yep thanks...know all about the 4oz kits. problem is they aren't the 8oz bottles that i am looking for

I would like to know as well. I want to make a small "vacation" kit to take on, well, vacations.
Yes a travel kit is a good idea. I was thinking of sharing products with a friend of mine that is just starting out

What is the availability of empty 8oz bottles for purchasing?
-
Works well on older cars too!
ok you got me there...

IMO. I would go with the Rupes 15. its the best all around polisher. I have the flex 3401 but its a beast, works fantastic, its great on large areas. The Rupes 15 is a nice in the middle polisher that works great on most newer cars and is not too big and not too small. if you want something smaller...I love my rupes mini.
Search around there are plenty of articles, videos, etc out there with decent reviews for all those machines. Best thing is to see what will fit what you want to accomplish and then pull the trigger.

Considering Subaru doesn't have exactly the thickest clear coat to begin with and is super soft in my experience - I agree with Matt above - Subaru paint is super soft, maybe the defects you notice now (after it got back from the shop) is just from washing and drying technique?
What is your wash/dry regimen now? On Subaru as well as Infiniti and a few others, I don't really recommend the waffle weaves unless they are brand new - I prefer a plush drying towel on softer paints.
Always plush...never waffle

I think my vote is implied
Till you break out that flex when no one is looking....

i keep a dedicated applicator in the fridge for patriot and a dedicated one for sealant.

Once you have your 2 bucket wash technique down, you may want to look at trying Rinseless wash. It can cut your wash time in half - you wash & dry a panel at a time. I can easily do a Rinseless wash on our Accord in 25 minutes.
Justin looks like you have a good start with the products you ordered. This post by mc2hill is spot on. Esp since you have a busy life with the wife and kids like many of us. Once you get the vehicle cleaned with a regular wash and a good sealant (No point really to use a wax these days on a Daily Driver) it's fairly easy and quick to maintain with a rinseless wash and then using H20 GG as a drying aid. Takes me about a half hour to do a rinseless/H20 combo and a bit longer if I clean my wheels. You can swap H20 and detail spray when drying every other or every two rinseless washes depending on your frequency

yes Liquid Paint sealant as a base and maintain with Rinsless wash or two buck wash and then use H20 GG to add protection

Hi Wayne, Nice BRZ! I just picked up a 2016 Lapis Blue legacy two months ago. I think your attack plan with hand polishing is definitely worth a try. Subaru's tend to have soft paint so you maybe able to get it presentable until you can pick up a decent machine polisher.

i tried the tool this weekend too...i have to re watch the video i think...i just went back to the old school way

Do you guys think that applying detail spray onto clearcoated wheels gives them protection and make them easier to clean next time?
no i think a sealant would be better for protection
-
always wanted one...tried it out last year at Detailers domain...very nice unit. Do you guys have the metro vacuum as well?

Here are some pics of a correction to my GTO a few months back with PCP and PFP that I have had for a few years. Pretty sure I got them when they first came out and I had no troubles with them. Getting ready to use them again shortly. I definitely think that 8oz bottle options are a good idea. With the typical discount coupons that are offered quite frequently by Adams, they are a good value option. Most competitors are in this price range for 8oz size products. Any chance that empty bottles will be available for sale?

Buttery Wax is like Rocky II, a classic that's never forgotten and still great for what it is.
H2o is like Rocky IV because the shine is just as satisfying as watching the Italian Stallion knock the crap out of that Commie Drago.
so true....so was I not the only one watching Rocky last night on AMC???

Good to know...not a type of product that i use a lot off with proper wheel care and maintenance and a good paint care regiment but it definitely has its place. Any comparison from those that have used both the old and new yet?
-
^^^you should wear gloves regardless... Can the new stuff be diluted like the old to be used as paint decon?

I REALLY LIKE ADAM'S PRODUCTS :)

Yeah i thought so too...any bad publicity even if its joke can have such a detrimental effect with societys need of social media and various search engine dependencies.
