  1. Haha! They are good people and like me so I don't think they want to get rid of me. I make their daughter happy and to them that's what matters most!
  2. Well I'm back at the daily grind so that means I survived!!! Even helped out another forum member and my best friend by transporting a rescued Husky to his home in MD. It was a very relaxing and refreshing week. Cleared my mind a lot by not being on a computer all day. So very nice indeed.
  3. Not only am I surviving the south, we both gave her dads truck a little Adams treatment to clean it up a bit. Nothing fancy since its a work truck but he got some compliments on it already Hope we get some storms down here so I can experience a storm in the south!
  4. Not yet but there is a pesky, think he knows everything, thinks he can do no wrong, brown noser seagull here at work. We call him seagull because his always in your business if you have something or even if you potentially have something. Still lives at home in his parents basement at age 32, doesn't feel the need to move out or anything like that AND thinks his parents are going to will him the house. He has an 09 SRT8 Grand Cherokee. I know they are quick, but not that quick. Sure he will probably get me on a launch, but that's about all he will ever get on me after I'm done. Okay now that I got that out of the way, I'm building mine up to be all motor. Just a nice, healthy N/A build. I'll be able to run with him no sweat and make him worry a bit down the track. Now my better halfs TBSS, well, it's going to be a SRT8 killer (mainly this guy I work with just to shut him up). All I gotta say is twins

    Whole House Fan

My parents have one in their house. When I helped him put a roof on the house in July (AKA HOT!) we put Ridge Vent along the entire length of the peak of the roof. This let a fair bit of heat out that builds up during the summer time. With the whole house fan on, you can really feel the air being pushed out a good bit out of the entire opening. The fan that they have is older than me and I'm going to be 27 in August. Yeah it's a bit on the noisy side but it really does pull in some air. Now on another note, the only AC we had in the house previous to this year was a big in wall unit on the west side of the house. It would cool the house but with the bedrooms being on the east side of the house, it would get a bit toasty on that side still during the entire night. That in wall unit was loud and you could hear it everywhere inside the house. With all of that being said (see my pattern here?) my dad decided that it would be best to invest in a central air system. We just had the system checked to make sure it was operating properly and all the levels are where they should be at and had it set to 62 for about 10 minutes for a test of the system. Now some windows were still open during this time but you could feel all of the humidity basically being pushed right out of the air and what felt like an Arctic cold front coming from every register. Also, it is whisper quiet, gives a nice even distribution of cool air throughout the house and is so efficient it's not even funny. While it has been getting warmer out I know they will soon turn the system on for an extended period of time. It's the first time I've seen my parents actually be excited they had to stay inside during the warmer days. We are pretty much outdoors people but when that system kicked on and pumped out that glorious cool air, it was such a great feeling. All in all whole house fans have their place, but, if it's humid out, gets foggy or anything else like that overnight, you're going to be pulling all of that in as well. Nothing like waking up and everything is sticky because the humidity went from 30% to 90% with a dew point in the 70's!

    She said yes!

    Congrats Chas!!!
  7. Just found out it's a pre-order finished color meaning no painting needed when it's together. He has informed me that he took 1st place at a kit car show in his area this past weekend.
  8. Just swap an LS3 in yours and call it good! All because they sell more Buicks in China... I really hope they bring a wagon over here and also pray that they don't screw up the front end or rear end of the car in the process. Hate to say it but Chevy seems to know how to mess up good body lines. Since they are coming from the same facility, wonder if they would throw a RHD Holden Commodore SS-V coupe and wagon on the boat for me
  9. I guess I like grandpa cars.
  10. 1 ) Cigars. I guess you could say I'm into cigars. I have a humidor that holds about 400 so I would imagine that I qualify since it's now sitting about 3/4's full I've been a fan of Drew Estates, 5 Vegas and Ave Maria lately. 2 ) Detailing. It's been a side job of mine for over 8 years. I just can't seem to get away from it! 3 ) Photography. I'm getting into this more and more. I used to shoot photos of rock crawling and rock racing teams a few years back until my friend decided not to pay me for the work. I then quit. Still have a passion for it just need to get my own gear. 4 ) My Jeep. We have a love, hate relationship but it was my first ever vehicle and I'm going to keep it forever. Yeah she looks like poop right now and in need of some serious body work and paint but she runs like a champ. I've always been into rock crawling and before anyone says it's just for some drunk redneck hillbillys look up some of the feeds from the King Of The Hammers race. Plus I actually went out and cleaned up the trails from others that think it's a land fill. Pack in, pack out people!!!
  11. I had an 89 Toyota MR2 I drove back and forth to work for a few years. No A/C, no power steering. Just a go kart basically. It was fun taking corners in that thing and just enjoying it. I had the MR2 at work and went to pick up my 09 G8 GT over my lunch break. I got to drive it to work and park right beside the MR2. Now I have a 50 mile one way commute that's mostly highway. What did I take first? The G8. I wanted to get it home as fast and safely as possible. Once that was in the garage, my dad took me back to work to pick up the MR2. Holy crap am I accelerating? What's that rattling noise? Is that the wind? I feel like I'm bouncing all over the place! I can't see worth a crap with these headlights. Is the radio even on? You get the idea
  12. Too late!!!! Oh I've been looking into these for a while now. No need to worry about that I agree with you kind sir! To be honest the HSV styling and front end don't sit well with me. To many lines going on. I prefer the simpler, cleaner look of the Holden versions. Makes it more sleeper that way See? And to think you thought they were totally ugly and grandpa cars. This one is actually on my screen saver slide show at work. Everyone walks by when any of the pics are up (All Commodores or Clubsport wagons) and says "What the heck are those? I want one!" I agree. It just looks more normal with the Holden front end on it and like I said above, more sleeper. I like sleepers They are very well styled and cued cars if you ask me. Although, some of the fellow BMW people in here consider me 'tasteless' for driving a Pontiac/Holden I just look at them and say 'At least I didn't have to blow over 65k to get performance.' They just go back to sipping their tea. Sad thing is after I'm done with mine I'll be running circles around and passing even the M3 and M5 snoot heads. Be ready for plenty of kill reports
  13. Welcome! I was at the clinic as well on Saturday hanging with Brandi, Tom, Joe and the rest of the TBSS crew. I'm Brandi's other half (she keeps saying I'm the better half but I disagree) Sounds like you had a good time at the clinic! I should be up for the Fall Carlisle event as well. I have a wedding to go to this year the weekend of GM Nats. GRRRR......
  14. Welcome! What part specifically from VA are you from? Oh and nice car
  15. Wow what a day! Had an awesome time! Finally got to put a face to a name for some, see some old friends and catch up! I know I met Evan, Elliot, Tim, Mayben, rshadd, whiterp199, JerseyGator, Lisa and Ashley. Got to catch up with Dylan, Eric, Justin, Dan and all of the TBSS crew and cruised down to the clinic with Brnz and krewsman. Sorry if I missed any forum handles! I tried to remember everyone! I do have to personally thank Dylan for the following public bantering of 'If Matt can use a PC anyone can use a PC.' Thanks Dylan! Hope to see you out this way sometime soon! Thank you to the entire Thompson Racing crew (has anyone ever called the brothers as a whole E3? ), Lisa for working the checkout and handling questions and finding me a box for my goodies (thanks again Lisa!!!) and all of the helpers and volunteers. Everyone was great and second to none! The paint on the drag car is absolutely insane. That guy that sprayed that paint has some insane talent. Also that Caddy was GORGEOUS!!! Not to mention the toter and trailer setup and all of the other trucks and fun toys you guys have! Absolutely incredible. One thing for Eric, I was taking a look at that toter and trailer setup and I caught wind that you do back that into the building. I was standing there on Saturday looking at that setup, looking at the parking lot and wondering how in the heck do you get that thing in there?! You must have to cut that sucker REALLY hard! Whoever drives that has some guts that's for sure! Wish we could have stayed longer to hang with everyone but with a puppy at home requiring attention and my better half having to travel back to her area we had to unfortunately cut it a bit short. Cliff notes for anyone who doesn't like to read: It was an awesome clinic and you really do need to come out to the next one!
  16. Even tho I wasn't at the one last spring I know it was a monsoon then! This year looks to be shaping up very nicely! It will be good to see Eric and Dylan again, meet Ashley, see some familiar faces and some new ones I'm sure! There may be a lot going on that morning but we all know all of the cool kids will be at the clinic!
  17. I visited Portland, Albany, Corvallis, Newport, Bend and even went to see Crater Lake while I was out there for 10 days last year. Let me tell you, Bend, Oregon has my hook, line and sinker. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL area out there with a lot to do. Housing was cheap last year when I was out there and everyone that I met and was around was so laid back and easy going it was unreal. I'm honestly thinking about when I'm ready for retirement to go there. It's either there or Australia.
  18. Enough to make this truck a super sleeper We can discuss plans this weekend

  20. So when are we putting in that 1000/960 motor in yours Dylan? All it will take is one phone call
  21. Thank you Mook! You need to get out here to the East coast sometime! We really aren't that bad
  22. This will be my first time to the Thompson Racing facility and I sure can't wait to check it out! Already had my pre-order in for a while now as well. I'll try and be good and not come home with another trunk load of goodies
