    More is better than less
because if there's more less stuff,
then you might want to have some more.
But then, your parents won't let you because there's only a little.
If you really like something, you'll want more of it.

You want to use a long sweeping motion when spraying the detail spray to maximize the coverage of each spray.  Also, dont worry about completely covering each square inch of paint, just quickly mist lightly over the area and towel dry.

Hahaha.  I want a set of Fikse wheels for the SS, but don't want to invest that much into wheels when I will probably be selling the car in a couple of years once I graduate.

Any way you would anything else. A sealant of wax.

Kind of a waste in my opinion though. I polished mine with the metal polish twins and then hit it with glaze to keep the finger prints down.

So, last night I had decided that I was going to polish my dad's Nova for him.

    Fast forward to this morning...

I sprayed a 50/50 mixture of water and 70/30 IPA to do an IPA wipedown.  Well, the single stage paint did not like this one bit and I was concerned with the spots that it left on the trunk lid.  I hurried up and hit the panel with DS and it removed some of the spots, but not all of them...crap.  So, I ditched the idea of the IPA wipedown and went into claying the entire car.  It wasn't in terrible shape, just the lower panels had some road grime and the front had some bugs.

Next up was to start polishing with the Cyclo and new PFP.  Did one pass and didn't notice a difference and I felt really uncomfortable polishing on this car for a few reasons... 1) It's an older restoration 2) it's single stage (never worked on single stage before) 3) I didn't know how many coats were on the car and 4) I didn't know how thin the paint was.  Therefore, after that one section pass I called it quits with the polishing as I didn't feel comfortable continuing and possibly messing something up.  I was disappointed, but I figured it's better to be safe than sorry.  So, I wiped off the clay residue and decided to just glaze it up and hit it with a coat of Patriot.  Additionally, I tried to polish the front driver's side wheel up w/ the MP twins, a drill, and the 4" focus pads, but it didn't do much of anything.  They probably need to be wetsanded and then polished, which I'm not comfortable doing.  Anyway,  here are some pictures for you guys to enjoy!

No, you don't need to strip wash if you're just applying a wax.

If you do strip wash, yes you'll need to reapply the sealant also.

That's what I was getting at.  You'll see more throttle response changes from getting tuned rather than messing with a fickle ported TB.  Not worth the potential hassle IMO.  If you were flowing a lot of air with heads/cam/intake, then that would be the time for a bigger TB.

I would polish up my dads '96 SS and see if he wanted to go with me, but I'm afraid it might look better than my SS when I finish. Lol.

I have a horrible paint chip on my spoiler that needs repaired.

If they are raw chrome wheels, then the MP twins will be good to keep them shined up. For maintenance, use DWC or GWC, and for protection, QS. However, if they're clear coated chrome, then treat then just like your paint.

^^^ 4 and 5 are switched around. ALWAYS put the sealant down on bare paint before applying anything else.

Additionally, there's no need to dry the vehicle after the wash if you're going straight into claying and then polishing. It's a waste of time and definitely a waste of product (DS) if you used that as a drying agent.

I wouldn't say there isn't a need. You can use the buttery as a last step to add some more protection, gloss, and depth.

It should be fine. Just make sure that you rinse extremely well to get all of the soap out of the pads.
