  1. So the new G&G is improved because it can be applied 2 ways, just like the original could be applied 2 ways
  2. I was having the same issue and the consensus was to stop wiping it. Just apply it with your applicator of choice and leave it alone. Haven't had any problems applying it since.
  3. I don't understand the point of the Spray Wax, but it will be interesting to see how the new G&G compares to CB 2.0
  4. There's a very active racetrack near where I stay, so every weekend the place is full of Porsches, BMWs, Corvettes and the occasional Ferrari, but this is the first time I've seen anything so legitimately rare. Hell, I think this might be the first time I've actually seen an R34 in real life.....
  5. Current products is a tie between Detail Spray and Invisible Undercarriage Spray, but the old red Car Shampoo is by faaaaaaaaaaaaaar the best.
  6. It's a "dealer only" product so unless they change their mind it will not be offered on the Adam's site. Based on Tim's post above yours I finally broke down and ordered it from another website.
  7. Eco APC didn't really work that great on the rubber mats that were in my F150. They don't need it yet but eventually I'll try T&RC on the plastic Weathertechs in my 4Runner.
  8. Iron Remover > Visco Clay > Glass Sealant > Ceramic Boost. I don't have any of my detailing tools with me so the wheel-wells and tires will still need to be properly cleaned at some point, but this will do for now. I don't know if it's visible in the pictures, but the trim on the roof-bars and around the rear window needs some attention, too. Whatever the dealership put on streaked like hell so it will need some T&RC, Trim Restorer and possibly Trim Coating if I can talk myself into it. I didn't get much color change with the Iron Remover, I used an entire 16oz bottle and it didn't seem anywhere near as powerful as other decon-sprays I've used. I suppose it's possible that there wasn't much Iron for it to Remove, but I highly doubt it. Everyone knows how Visco Clay and Glass Sealant work, I won't go into that. Now the Ceramic Boost? Wow. Just wow. It's not quite as easy to apply as H2O G&G, but the gloss, depth and "slickness" the 'Boost adds definitely bests H2O G&G. I'm hoping to get a month out of it before I reapply and I don't think that will be a problem at all. If you want an idea of just how "slick" feeling it is, my wedding ring no longer stays on my finger
  9. Winter-prep on the 4Runner. Iron Remover > Visco Clay > Glass Sealant > Ceramic Boost Didn't bother doing anything with the tires, whatever junk the dealer put on it is going to take an obscene amount of T&RC and elbow-grease
  10. In the context of this discussion I think hobbyist definitely fits better than amateur. I agree with you about the dealership, but someone who takes that little pride in their work probably isn't going to do much better on their own.
  11. I really wish we had a way to differentiate this beyond just "professional" and "amateur" because it's not acceptable to put people who do work like the OP in the same category as people who do work like this... That absolute catastrophe came out of the detail shop at the dealership where I traded my F150 for my 4Runner. They didn't clean the face of the wheel the whole way, they didn't even touch the barrel, and there's as much disgusting tire grease on the wheel as there is on the tire. I'm sure every amateur that posts here could do a better job and not spend a minute more doing it.
  12. Thanks guys, I ended up ordering a bottle of Ceramic Boost instead.
  13. You really don't need to get nutty with your engine bay. I have 2 approaches, one for keeping a clean bay clean and one for getting a dirty bay clean. 1. Keep clean clean: Use Waterless Wash and an Edgeless, just spray and wipe. I chose to leave it naked (no dressings of any kind) when I had this car. 2. Make dirty clean: Use APC and a cheap microfiber you can throw away when you're done. Just to experiment I wiped this down with Interior Detailer once I got it cleaned.
  14. Haha, thanks! I usually switch it up every couple of years, but so far the 5.0 is the only thing I've ever regretted getting rid of. Now the plan is to keep this 4Runner until the wheels fall off, and keep the wife's Traverse chugging along so I can pick up a 2013-2014 GT500 in a few years once the new ones drive down the resale values
  15. It's actually Race Red. It's a very red shade of red, but depending on how the light is it will start looking orange or even pinkish/purple. My 5.0 was the same color.
  16. Ugh, my F150 deserves to be treated better than this
  17. Looks like I finally found a use for the round avatars
  18. Anyone else have some input they'd like to share?
  19. Last year's PS Detail Spray was absolutely amazing, it smelled like those Pumpkin Delight cookie things. This year's isn't quite as nice, but the Detail Spray and Interior Detailer both smell great. Unfortunately my air freshener smelled like microwaved fake buttered popcorn. Last years orange towels were much nicer-feeling than this year's, too.
  20. My F150 was cool, but after a year or so it was time to move on. Its so big it was like driving a battleship around. I liked how fast it was, but it was more of a sport-truck and the more I thought about it the more it just felt like that's not what I want my daily vehicle to be. So after researching and test-driving things, I ended up with this: a 2015 Toyota 4Runner Trail Edition.
  21. The only thing I don't like about Strip Wash is that you have to rinse as you go. Even if the vehicle is in the shade and stays wet the entire time any dirt will work it's way back down to the paint if you try to wash the whole thing then go back and rinse it.
  22. Whoever drew that has to be an Adam's customer, there's no way to accidentally end up with that image to base it on if you're just Googling for random pictures of tire shine products.
  23. In my experience APC, even sprayed on full strength, won't fully strip Americana or Guard & Gloss. Not everyone has the desire or time to fully polish every time they want to lay down some sort of LSP, and it's nice to be able to use the Strip Wash to make sure you're starting fresh.
