  1. A little pricey for what it is, but nonetheless interesting.....
  2. I've thought about doing that or using a diluted VRT "milk" In either case I think it would take a lot of effort to keep over-spray off my wheels, and in the case of the Tire Shine I would almost never have the opportunity to let my truck just sit for a day so the Tire Shine could dry completely. Can't have this happening anymore...
  3. It doesn't, but if someone else has already tried it unsuccessfully it would be nice if they relayed that information so I don't waste my time and money.
  4. In most situations I would agree. However I'm already applying VRT with a paintbrush instead of a hex-grip, so instead of taking 5 minutes to go over all 4 tires twice, it's more like 5 minutes per tire. 1. The hex-grip won't leave any product in between the side lugs on my KO2s 2. My wheels don't have a "flange" to mount weights, so there's no ledge to keep the hex-grip from leaving product on the wheels. Normally that wouldn't be an issue, but my wheels are matte black and it's a major pain in the *** to get the VRT back off of them If it's possible to successfully apply the Black Trim Restorer instead it would save me a lot of time and aggravation only having to deal with that every couple of months instead of every time I wash.
  5. Has anyone tried this yet? I know there are tire "coatings" available from other manufacturers, but I don't like other manufacturers LOL. I imagine the tires would require a very meticulous cleaning before the application (I'm thinking of using one of those disposable, foam paint brush things) but it would be worth it to not have to apply VRT after every wash. Oh yeah, you guys have until the 18th Anniversary Sale is over to talk me out of trying this
  6. My former Mustang. I kept up with it enough that all I had to do was wipe everything down with Waterless Wash then apply some VRT/In & Out spray. Eventually I gave up on the dressing step. My wife's Traverse is much more neglected. This was cleaned up with Eco APC and junk towels/brushes, then wiped down with Interior Detailer for a little extra shine. I'm not looking forward to doing my F-150 after this winter
  7. Test a small area first. Brilliant Glaze worked fantastic on the matte stripes on my Charger, but horrific on the matte stripes on my Mustang. http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/33274-splotchy-stripes-after-brilliant-glaze/
  8. So. The service-writer told me the technician said, and I'm not making this up, that "there's nothing wrong with it, sometimes they just get too hot and the window shatters" I said that it probably wasn't supposed to ever get too hot, which means that there is something wrong with it. Then I brought up the many, many unsatisfied people on message boards and YouTube and she said that there were no recalls for my vehicle. I said that I was aware there were no recalls, which is why the internet is so angry with ford. She said that there was nothing for my specific vehicle, to which I replied "yes, exactly my specific vehicle". She again brought up the fact that there's no recalls, so I sighed loudly and asked how much it was going to cost me. Zero dollars. Why, you ask? Because they wouldn't even fix the damn thing! She said they'd give me the information for a local auto glass place instead. She must have been able to sense that I was literally about to burst into flames, because she said they weren't going to charge me anything for the "diagnosis." So now I'm going to start gathering info to fire off a nastygram to Ford about it. But on the plus side, someone was able to get some footage of me trying to get out of the Fiesta...
  9. Dropped the truck off this afternoon. Started off on a bad foot when they asked why I was so late, then insisted I told them I was going to drop it off first thing this morning. I said absolutely not, I specifically said I was going to drop it off around 4pm. Then they showed my to my service loaner Fiesta, which is roughly the size of my children's first pedal car.
  10. Should I do that now or wait until the dealer tries to make me pay for it?
  11. The 3/36,000 is expired, but it was CPO so I'm hoping they cover it under that. I guess I'll find out for sure next week.
  12. Talked to a local Ford dealership today. I said I was having some problems with my rear window defroster, and when they asked what the problem was I said I turned it on and a few minutes later it shattered my rear window. Unfortunately the earliest I can get it in is next Wednesday, I need a service-loaner and they didn't have any available until then.
  13. Unless someone else tries it unsuccessfully, I'm going to see how the Black Trim Restorer works on tires in the spring.
  14. Had them installed today but it was too dark for pics when I got back from the dealer. They look much more aggressive in person than they do in any pictures I found. They're noticeably noisier than the big car tires that I replaced, but I was expecting that. The ride is stiffer, which I was also expecting going from a P-metric to a D-load LT tire. I didn't get a chance to see what pressure the dealer left them at, though, which could make them feel stiffer than they should. I'm working in Canada now so they'll definitely see their share of snow in the coming months.
  15. Yeah they need it bad, I have no idea what UPS did with them but the sidewalls are filthy. Unfortunately I don't think I'll get a chance to any time soon with this ridiculously cold weather
  16. Stock size for now, once they wear out I want to pick up a set of Raptor take-offs. I'll post more pics when I get them mounted on Friday
  17. How well does G&G stand up to road salt? I don't have anywhere indoors to apply it so the less time I have to spend outside in the winter the better
  18. Not feeling the round avatars.....
  19. Tires are the only thing I use VRT on anymore. Underhood plastic looks great naked or with some Interior Detailer if you want a smidge of sheen and any trim just gets H20 Guard & Gloss with the rest of the exterior.
