  1. Oh, gee. Sorry bud. I know how you feel. I get tired of the Brad Pitt comments all the time, too.
  2. I'm glad the O's are doing well but I really don't think it'll last. Hope I'm wrong....
  3. How 'bout Josh Hamilton w/ 4 dingers last night! 8 RBIs and 18 total bases! What a stud.
  4. What has happend to the Twins the last couple of years? Yikes! Even when they can get the M&M boys on the field they can't win. I bet they're glad they spent all that $$$ on the new ballpark....
  5. That "Texas Heat" thing is WAY overplayed. (What - it's not hot in Atlanta? Baltimore? NYC?) It's a matter of conditioning. And I believe BOTH teams have to play in the same heat. Thank goodnes Nolan Ryan has put an end to that excuse/myth.
  6. What to you think of Cole Hamels plunking Bryce Harper? Here's how I see it: Plunk him if you want to plunk him. Everyone KNOWS it was intentional. But don't ADMIT IT! You say "I was just trying to come inside and it got away." Hamel is suspended 5 games.
  7. The LAAofA give Albert the night off and they start hitting? This is a crazy game...
  8. I've got another one for ya.... When did it become necessary to boo the visiting pitcher every time he throws over to first? I mean - if he throws over there 10 times when the runner doesn't even have a lead, ok. But every time? Sometimes I want to stand up and scream, "Have you ever SEEN a baseball game before?"
  9. If/when Mo retires they should wave the 5 year wait for Hall of Fame induction.
  10. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to show your post to my wife. She thinks I'm the only person in the world that gets pissed off about the stoopid wave. ....and when there's 2 outs and 2 strikes in the 9th... Who's that loser that's always down on the second row that turns around and tries to get everyone to stand up? This is America! You stand up when YOU want to stand up and I'LL stand up when I want to stand up. Everyone's happy! Seriously - it's a good thing I'm not God. I'd be smiting people left and right.
  11. Yeah - I swear there was more interest in the beach balls and the "wave" at Dodger Stadium on Sunday than the game.... Can't say TX is much better. They don't clap or stand here until the JumboTron tells them to... And don't get me started on the Dot Race.
  12. Has Albert gone deep as an LAAofA yet? I've been on vaca and unplugged...
  13. I was at the game in Houston when Craig Biggio hit his 3000th. (Not quite on the level of a no-no but very exciting all the same...) They passed out posters after and mine is still hanging in my office. We had to go to Houston to get my daughter a visa and decided to take in a game at the Juice Box. He was 3 hits away. My daughter said "Wouldn't it be great if he did it tonight?" I said " You know how hard it is to get 3 hits in one game?" He got 5 hits that night. Plus it was a comeback walk-off win. One of the most exciting games I've ever been to. Oh, and they beat the Rockies. Sorry Mook.
  14. He didn't do much in the game we saw at Dodger Stadium but he sure LOOKS like a ball player. He made a very good catch against the center field wall. Later he threw from shallow center to home and it was a bit offline and not really even close. I'm not sure a perfect throw would have gotten the out. Anyway - good afternoon at Chavez Ravine. Place has changed a bit in the last 30 years but still has it's old charms. Good crowd - but most of them were only interested in the beach balls and shouting "MVP" every time Kemp came to the plate.
  15. The Nats are bringing up Bryce Harper and he's making his MLB debut this weekend in LA. And I'm going to be at Dodger Stadium Sunday. Pretty exciting for this baseball rat. Full scouting report will follow next week. Is he worth the hype?
  16. Uh oh. Delmon Young was just arrested in NYC for assault.... Too late to get Binge back?
  17. I didn't say it wasn't justified. I was just saying that I was sorry to see him go. He's been a solid player for the Tigers for a long time. He changed position like I change socks - anything for the team. He was never a "tools" guy but he always seemed to play above his skill level - especially when it counted. Oh, and the Tigers will still have to pay the rest of his contract - whether he plays for them or not. Gotta love those MLB contracts!
  18. I would never presume to try to "out misery" a Sox fan. New England has a long and glorious history of epic failures. However - the pain should be a bit tempered for you considering '04 and '07. You must admit - what happened with the Rangers in the 2011 WS was right up there with Bucky Bleeping Dent and Aaron Bleeping Boone. Not to mention Mookie Wilson. In fact - we will always refer to him as David Freaking Freeze.
  19. All I know is that it takes losing to truly appreciate winning. Maybe that's why Yankee fans can be so annoying.
  20. Big deal. The Rangers did that in the World Series.
