The Yukon looks good! I think you will be ok. You did use the coating prep so that may have removed some of the sealant. Worse case is the coating doesn't last as long. I would use the Ceramic Boost at least once a month to add some longevity to the coating.

Thank you for the tip! I am a two-hour drive from Carlisle. Honestly, I would gladly do that drive in my GTI for the opportunity to get some hands-on experience. How do I find out about the tent events?

The next event at Carlisle will be the Carlisle Events Chrysler Nationals July 13th - 15th. We are on the midway just look for the inflated detail spray bottle on top of the trailer. We will have cars there so you can try any of the Adams products including the polishers. The next two shows after Chysler show will be the Carlisle Events Corvette show August 23-26th and then the Carlisle Events Fall show October 3-7th. Stop by and say hello!

Two panels at a time is a huge bite at once and gives you zero time for slacking. Most coatings recommend a 2’ x 2’ section at a time. We will go a little bigger than that, but not much. Moving a vehicle in and out to check for high spots would be time consuming. Work in smaller sections. Buff thoroughly. We use a suede buffing towel that we throw out when we are done, and then we do a final buff with a microfiber of each section.

When working with coatings, less can be more. I can’t imagine trying to do two panels at a time solo and ensure it’s right.

Let me clarify I did apply the coating to a 2x2 section at a time, wait, and then wipe off. Then after fully completing 2 panels I backed the truck out and rechecked for high spots.

Backing the truck out did add time to the job but after letting the coating cure for 24 hours I did not have any areas that needed to be redone.

  4.      I have started to coat 2 panels at a time then backing the vehicle out of the garage to check for high spots in the sun. I caught a lot of high spots this way on the most recent black Ram 1500 truck that I coated.

I also have tried to put less coating on the applicator and work in smaller areas. I used 4-5 towels to remove the coating residue on the truck.

Getting ready to do my 2017 High Country with Ceramic coat.

Seems to me that as fast as ceramic dries you will be working with a crusty stiff applicator and towel before you are done.  I know the applicator is referred to as having 6 sized but in reality I would have a hard time counting the ends so to me its only 4.

The process seems abrasive before you are done??

My intention is to do iron removal , strip wash because I have it, clay and then just the both pads with paint correction polish.  Is there any benefit to a rewash?

What are the odds of doing this crew cab pickup and having enough ceramic and cleaner left over for a GMC terrain?  If I end up liking this, I am thinking about just buying a second kit for the wifes car and if I can finish up her car with the first ceramic I will just order new applicators and have full kit ready to go.  Or maybe just buy the bottle of ceramic and another applicator since I plan to buy boost in larger bottles.

You should have enough coating to do both vehicles. Maybe enough to start your wife's car. The applicator will not harden before your done provided that you keep going and not take long breaks.

I would use two towels to remove the coating on vehicles that big. One for the initial removal of coating and a second to go over the area again in case you missed anything.

You could rewash to help remove the polish then use the coating prep or just use the coating prep. I have done both and cannot see a difference in the coating.

Post some pictures when you are done!

I just love the ceramics hydrophobic properties, does the ceramic wax leave the surface the same as with ceramic and boost would you say?

It does leaves the surface slick.
