  1. Yesterday I went to work and parked in my "safe" parking spot. It's on the roof, next to the concrete barrier, over the line. 0% chance of a door ding. My wife came to work later and parked on the same level. We came out of work at 11:30 pm to find what looked like white waterspots all over the cars. At first I thought we may have had a rain shower but my car was just washed so there was no dirt on it. Next I thought it may have come from the construction site next to the garage where a new building is being built. We both were tired from work so we just left. We got home and she said, "do you think it could be fuel from one of the helicopters?" I rubbed one of the spots and it did have a greasy feel to it. Pretty sure it was aviation fuel. So at midnight I am washing cars. I get up before work and wash cars. Both cars had a layer of the new Adams liquid paint sealant and Adams Americana so they cleaned up great! I now have to find a new "safe" spot to park!

  4. I live in a quiet, small town but if I left anything on the front porch overnight it would be gone in the morning. We have lost a lot of things that way. Did you file a police report?
  5. 1. Brilliant Glaze 2. Undercarriage Spray 3. Glass Cleaner 4. Liquid Paint Sealant
  6. nj2012 Correct order: 1. Wash 2. Clay the paint Depending on the condition of your paint 3. Paint correcting polish (lots of swirls, scratches, oxidation) or 4. Paint finishing polish (minor defects) If you use the correcting polish follow that with the finishing polish. 5. Protection Liquid paint sealant or Americana I have the porter cable but recently tried like the cyclo and liked it. What orbital tool do you have? It sounds like you have hard water if there are spots after washing. You can try misting the car down with Adams detail spray and then drying it with a great white towel. This may lessen the water spots.
  7. Post some pictures when your done. Congratulations on such a great car!
  8. My wife and I had a great time at dinner last night (I'm still full) and the detail clinic today. It was nice meeting everyone! Special thanks to Grabiak's for hosting the event and Adam, Nick, Chris for all the great information presented at the detail clinic. We hope to see everyone next year!

  10. I have a scratch on the inside of my windshield. I noticed it today when pulling out of the garage. The sun hit it just the right way I guess. I think it occurred last week when I got my car inspected and the new inspection sticker was put in. Probably due to the tool used to remove the old sticker. The bad news is I can feel the scratch with my fingernail. Is there anything I can do to fix this or is this permanent?
  11. I used Adam's detailers tape and covered the stripes to do the middle section. I left a little so it covered a little of the paint. I was not too aggressive when polishing (white pad and finishing polish) because it was so close to the vinyl. The little area I just left go. Really too small to polish or wax. I did the whole car with just the Finishing Polish and white pad. I got most of the fine scratches out. I also used a white focus pad with the Finishing Polish for my wheels. Somehow all four wheels had fine scratches in them and that took them right out. I used the Quick Sealant on all the black trim, headlights, and door jams. Machine Super Sealant on the rockers, front bumper, and rear end. I then applied a coat of Americana. I also sealed the glass with glass sealant. I have white glossy stripes and I just use Americana on them. Matte stripes are different. Are yours matte or glossy? There is a great thread pinned under the General Detailing Discussion section which talks about care of vinyl stripes. Congratulations on your new Camaro! Here's a picture of ours soon after we bought it.
  12. Thank you for the advice. I will try the 3M Adhesive remover. I went to take a look at the post he rubbed up against. From the looks of it he was not the first one!
  13. My neighbor took his car to the car wash and somehow rubbed against a round metal post going into the wash. He now has yellow paint on the back panel of his car. Before talking to me he took a brillo pad to the worst of it. I told him not to do that again! I was able to start to get some of the paint off first using some clay then some automotive paint cleaner but this process takes along time. Any other suggestions?
  14. I have the DA Drill Attachment. I only used it once. The pads that came with it were not that good and really too small to do a full size car. It would work for spot corrections but I would stay with your PC since you already have that.
  15. I would use the quick sealant. I use it on all my rims. It's quick and easy to get the hard to reach areas.
