  1. glad to see so many others play the same parking lot game that I do. However, the jerks and their dings will always find a way to get you at some point. For me it was when my grandfather was in the hospital and I had no choice but to park in a busy lot. Needless to say when I came out some POS wagon had parked too close and popped me with both doors! It was hard to not put my fist thru something that day.
  2. I was also nervous about it...fast moving parts in the hands of a noob, yikes. But, in the end, it wasnt that big of a deal. Almost fool-proof to use. For me, the biggest problem was that I was TOO careful with it and I wasnt pressing down hard enough. There are situations in which you can just 'let the polisher do the work' and you dont have to press down. there are others in which you have to use some pressure and knock out those tougher imperfections. One word of advice: its addictive!
  3. While I see your point, I don't agree that auto car wash = power washer. Here's why. I dont use car washes b/c I am afraid they recycle their water (I know many who do). Obviously this is good for the environment, bad for my finish. So, I thought a power washer would be a good way to blast bugs and salt off my truck without risking blasting it with dirty water. However, some have expressed concern for using a power washer on a soft clear coat. In the end, think a power washer and a little common sense will work just fine
  4. that's pretty sick! very smooth! ...and I dont even like Fords
  5. never had any freeze before. but I dont want to experiment either...just called the neighbor and asked her to take them in.
  6. Me too...My cache just got a huge boost and its sitting outside my front door! Hope it doesnt freeze. I cant wait to see it all tonight.
  7. Excellent write-up. Make me want to buy my own large boar hair's brush. Something like 8''x6'' so I can go over the entire vehicle with a brush and not beat it up.
  8. Jason, I bet if you made available some wallpaper quality images of the Adam's logo, a ton of us would use them...food for thought. Free advertising.
  9. I once had a FedEx guy bring a box up to my door and crush three pathway lights while doing so. Completely crushed them...I was more than heated!
  10. DAMN! I'd have divorce papers sent to me if I purchased that much...
  11. Adam, I've always wondered how you can stand to live in CO and have your rig all nasty with snow, salt, mud, etc. It drives me crazy here in OK...
  12. I know the feeling. In my parking garage I am flanked by a burgundy Mercedes, a kick *** black Lexus and there's even a yellow Lamborghini Murcielago sometimes in there. All of which need some serious TLC. I of course feel inferior b/c I take my Accord to work. but then i dont feel so bad when I notice that their finishes are swirled like they've been gone over with sandpaper and mine is baby-but smooth..
  13. Dude, you have more posts than Jason (~1300)!!!
  14. there's also this thing called Neti Pot...supposed to work magic.
  15. you're sitting in the dentist's chair getting your teeth cleaned and you begin to wonder how their tooth polishing gear compares to Adams products. Is that buffer like an orange pad? A white one? What about the polish they use...is it more like Swirl and Haze remover or FMP? Im a junkie...
  16. I'll be watching...in spite of crack-head Paula's nonsense
  17. Well, if your sampling is of all vehicles, then I agree that the overwhelming majority do not get clayed. And that's even if you throw out service/commercial vehicles. However, if you sample the higher end of the spectrum, I think the needle might move a little...but still, I dont think it is common beyound detailing enthusiasts. I have read posts on here about demos with ppl who think their vehicles are spotless and clean only to be astonished when the plastic bag test is used.
  18. Adam's All Purpose Cleaner should knock that out easily. Just yesterday I removed a bunch of white spots from the edge of my bedline using the all purpose cleaner and a microfiber towel. No sweat at all. I have also read on this forum that a pencil eraser can be used. I was going to try that if the APC had not worked.
  19. I guess what I should have said was that I stopped when done with the DS. It leaves such a nice finish, I was satisfied at that point....Im eager to take the next step with BSG.
  20. Ive been using Adams detail spray to touch-up and remove dust after a good washing. Guess I didnt realize that BSG was the most appropriate product for that. Wonder if Im the only one...I'll order some BSG today!
  21. excellent idea! what criteria should be used when assigning a value???
  22. For reals! I would definitely buy one! Adams is one of the few products I am willing to promote by wearing their gear w/ logos.
  23. I also wonder what it would be like to be an Adams dealer...anyone? what exactly do you do? its not door to door sales, right? Really, I would like to detail cars for a living, but I dont think it would support the lifestyle I want any time soon (the whole idea of having to build-up a reputation and customer base just wont work for me). Plus, just as a little recon I asked my co-workers what they would be willing to pay for a wash, dry, clay, wax, vac and shine...they all agreed that "$35-50" would be appropriate...needless to say, they are out of touch...
  24. I assume there is no reason why the currently offered grit guard insert cannot be used with any proper size bucket that I have around or can buy at Lowes. Its not oval shaped or anything, right. Im all for buying stuff from Adams, just not sure I want to spend $ on shipping for a bucket that I can get anywhere...now, the bucket dolly, I cant get just anywhere, so thats a different story. Thanks
  25. I told my wife that when I turn 40 I am getting either a Porsche or a mistress. She said to get whichever one is cheaper..lol!
