  1. I had an APC bottle crack on the bottom and start leaking. Fortunately one of the specials I ordered came with another one so I just swapped out.
  2. Welcome to the addiction. Wait until you start trying other products. Pretty soon you'll own one of these.
  3. DWC is your best bet. Any grease that may have bonded with brake dust may still remain after the DWC so hit it with APC if it does. If that doesn't work try an old piece of clay. Then hit them with some QS so you don't have to work so hard next time.
  4. Chase you have some impressive photos of your work on there. Only suggestions I would make are: maybe don't abbreviate svrt and write out in full what it stands for. Also include that it contains SPF when you mention putting it on the tires and trim. Also if you mention leather conditioner include that it contains SPF as a selling point. And maybe include a pic of your shop and one pic of all the products so people get an idea of the variety of lotions and potions you will be using to clean up their ride.
  5. I remember seeing in another thread where Mook did it. I believe he said it increases the surface lubrication during washing and somehow helps the foam stay in place longer. But I could be wrong.
  6. Yes I have a gallon as well. I'm not saying IT IS a gel, I'm saying its like a gel as in it turns thick and sticks to the surface as opposed to a liquid like APC that is thin and runs. Sorry for the confusion.
  7. IMO it's kind of hard to get accurate results for that. By no means am I an expert on this but from what I've gathered they all have different purposes. DWC specifically targets the metallic particles in brake dust, with the harshest yet safest method. It's also a gel type of cleaner that is made to dwell in one place while it works. Green wheel cleaner from my understanding is a much more safer alternative to DWC if you don't need to remove a ton of brake dust. It's also much safer for those of us who clay and QS our wheels to make cleaning easier. And APC targets different substances like grease but not specifically made to target metallics for deep cleaning. They all have their different functions. I guess another way to put it would be saying "compare bg to mss". Both are great products but do different things.
  8. I believe you may get those other particles off with APC. Dylan was saying that the APC will attack the grease and other stuff not meant for specific cleaning by DWC if it possibly got mixed in with some dirt or brake dust and adhered to the rim. May be worth a shot.
  9. Agreed! I got both sizes and its crazy how much brake dust they pull off when used with DWC! Be careful and wear eye protection though, don't want to sling any DWC into an eyeball.
  10. Have you used the DWC yet? I used it and pretty much got my wheels perfect without even having to remove them.
  11. the Adams shampoo and foam cannon combo here. Thick foam like shaving cream.
  12. I haven't found anything from them that isn't great! I just ordered two more great whites last week on special.
  13. I would venture to say also that when you're over an edge you usually aren't distributing the pressure of the pad evenly like you would over a flat surface, so more pressure gets put on the edge which can eat thru the paint.
  14. Quick sealant is sprayed on from the can, then you use the blue/red applicator pad to level it out. It's not going to keep all the dust off your rims, but it will make cleaning them easier. You should also invest in wheel woollies and/or a turbo stick to clean the rim area behind the face. Lots of dust accumulates there and it can eventually just build up and spread into the face.
  15. Adams of course. I use one pump from my gallon bottle with the pump sprayer and the rest is water. Just make sure you put the water in first then the shampoo. I think that translates to like 4oz of shampoo, but I'm not sure. You can add a little ww in there too!
  16. You can use quick sealant on the rims after you give them a very thorough cleaning and clay them. It will make them much easier to clean the next few times. But you can't attack them with APC if you do that because the APC will eat the sealant. So what some of us do is use a mixture of the car shampoo and water in a spray bottle to clean the rims so you don't eat the sealant off. Then after a month or whatever you feel is a good time, give them another deep cleaning and seal them up again.
  17. I fill up a 36oz bottle with water about 1" below the top, then insert one pump from my gallon of shampoo. Shake it like a salt shaker and go.
  18. I just did my car today with my foam cannon. I can't go without using it now. I do the rims and tires first with GWC and APC. Then I use the cannon with shampoo and ww. Let it dwell for a few mins then rinse with the pressure washer and clean water. Then use the cannon again and foam it up. Then use the two bucket wash and just hose it down with the fire nozzle. I use a merino for the top half and jumbo for the bottom. Blow the car off using a generic type if electric blower and then mist the car with DS. Dry it off with the GWDT.
  19. I adjusted my pattern yesterday and played with some settings, along with adding a little ww to the mixture. Foam came out in a really nice, wide, thick pattern. I had more soap than I knew what to do with! I was able to do my entire f250, including front grill and wheel wells on half a bottle of the mixture. Let it dwell for 5 mins then went with the pressure washer and water for my rinse. Applied another layer of foam using the rest of the mixture left in the bottle and went to washing with a one bucket wash. There was soap everywhere!!
