Brake Dust Solved!

I was seriously considering buying new brake pads for my new Q5 cause the brake dust was so bad. It was driving me literally insane...

I washed and cleaned the Q5 last weekend and applied the VRT to tires. I also waxed my Audi Q5's wheels with the Buttery wax. I am amazed how much both helped to reduce the brake dust. I have driven 200 miles so far and there is only a small amount of brake dust that can be easily removed with some Waterless Wash spray.

For longer life, try a bottle of Machine Super Wax. It'll last considerably longer.

 

Audi's and BMW's are notorious for brake dust.

Next time get some Porterfield R4S pads.

I have had them on multiple cars with dusty factory brakes and the R4S pads cut the dust substantially

Car-Quest Blue pads are pretty good too. The brake dust on my F-150 was horrible with the stock pads. I changed them out and i no longer have that problem.

Ceramic pads have a lot less dust, and what little they do produce is light in color,not black. With the Adams treatment on the wheels the problem is mostly eliminated:rockon:

Brake pads on an Audi can get pretty pricey. Also, no sense in throwing away brand new pads on a 2011. I say put a coat of MSW on next time you detail.

Just about guarantee you that there's not a huge difference (if any) between "wheel" sealants and Adams MSW. The only difference I could see is that Adams is better... lol

I polish my wheels once a week with Brilliant spray glaze.

 

The brake duct wipes off easily
