SHOW PREP DETAIL: Custom Ford F150 Raptor

Team Adam's

Recommended Posts

The subject belongs to Nicoletti Motorsports and they reached out to us to give this recently modded truck a little love before it headed off to the Denver Auto Show this week.

Quick walk around showed a fair amount of light swirling. The wrap had more significant damage that wasn't going to addressed on this detail. Heavy water spotting on all the glass.Since it hadn't seen any offroad use yet the undercarriage was still in pretty good shape and didn't take much to clean up. Interior was in good shape, but clear it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned since purchased (5k+ on the odo)

Goal was an overall cleanup, correction of light paint defects, and applying protection to all the surfaces to get it ready for display/show.

Awesome job, beautiful truck. Love the write up.

I'm diggin the tire dressing, shiny tires work in some cases.

A few observations, do you always detail with your wedding ring?

Also, pull your pants up, no one wants to see that.:willy:

Pretty much... my fingers are so gnarled from detailing that I can barely get the damn thing off, and its even harder getting it back on.

I figured as much

Dip it in some undercarriage spray, bet it would slide right off.

Looks great and man do I want a Raptor. Silly question, but roughly how long did it take you from start to finish?

About 7 hours on Saturday and about 2 hours of touchup on Monday morning before they came to pick it up.

Yep. Works great for getting really stubborn water spots off.

Yes. Prototype tire coating.

Maybe a newb question - but wouldn't the holes in that bumper completely destroy that pad in no time?

Truck looks awesome!!!

They weren't sharp so it didn't really, by the time I was done the pad was pretty beat up, but it made it thru the whole process. Wasn't an ideal surface to polish on, but had to get done so even if that means sacrificing a pad ya do what you gotta do!
