WWII Spitfire Pilot United with Filming Of His Landing

I've always been somewhat of a WWII buff, particularly on the aerial side of things (my grandfather was a Navy flight instructor during the war) so I find stories like these awesome.  It's great that even though it was so long ago the pilot still remembers it like it was yesterday. Heck, I have trouble remembering what I did last week.

Seen this the other day and thought this was just fantastic. I couldn't keep my smile off my face with his reaction and couldn't prevent a tear from swelling up.

Imagine flying over Germany ..by yourself.. in a spit fire with no machine guns or bombs and just surveillance cameras etc for reconnaissance? This gentleman is a true hero and the courage to fly over Nazi Germany with the risk of being shot down to provide pictures of targets is just incredible. :patriot:  He deserved the distinguished flying cross and then some!

"Get that cigarette out of your mouth" That cracked me up!
