Was just wondering some peoples thoughts. When applying paint sealant who else applies buttery wax after your done with the paint sealant?

Are you referring to applying it over the top of the LPS after it hazes up? Or just layering it in normal fashion?

First off, welcome David.

 

I apply Buttery Wax over Liquid Paint Sealant only when I want to add some additional "pop" or depth to a darker colored vehicle.

 

On my own cars, I typically will use American or Patriot Wax, over Liquid Paint Sealant, same reasoning, just that those waxes are my preferred choice.

I have mine layered. 

 

Here is my current planning

 

Liquid paint sealer 2 times per year 

Keep up on rinseless or waterless washes, usually at least weekly 

After each application wait at least a week preferably longer depending on time and weather. 

Start applying buttery after rinseless washes again depending on weather. 

Keep up with semi regular detail wipe downs, typically once per week. 

 

Mind you I drive about 1k miles PER week, with alot of highway, so the paint sees some abuse on the roads. I am going to be trying out the H2OGG but personally I really enjoy the time with the vehicle as a way to relax which is why I still use the buttery.

I haven't yet but, I probably will give in to the itch and buy some buttery in the spring to layer over my LPS.

You might see a little difference on a dark colored car as far as appearance as far as protection LPS is pretty durable on its own. What I would do is every 4 or so washes I would apply H2O G & G that will help maintain your LPS.

I concur that the HGG works really well, I did both my vehicles w/ LPS about a month to 45 days ago and hit 'em both with HGG yesterday and today. Nice gloss for sure.

Lot's of variables in that equation. I get 4 to 6 months on my weekend driver that's garaged.

with H2O G&G on top of it, i'm not even sure how to tell when its breaking down.... I'm trying to hold off putting another coat until I get my polishers.
