Winter Protection on Daily Driver

Hi Team,

 

My daily driver lives outside year round.. I apply Paint Sealant on it minimum twice a year and use Buttery Wax in the summer.  Now with winter approaching, what would be the best wax/protection that should be applied for harsh Canadian winters where we use way too much salt on our roads?  Re-applying wax in the freezing temps may not be a viable option, so would Americana be a better wax to apply pre-winter?

The paint sealant will be the longest lasting and should cover things, however Americana will last longer than buttery.

Greg, The only product that would trump the PS that you are already using is our Ceramic Paint coating.

I just recently put paint sealant down (plus Americana and brilliant glaze on top) and plan to maintain with H2O G&G every 1-2 months until spring when I strip it down again.

The paint coating will be best. If you don't want that, paint sealant and h20 guard & gloss every few washes will be the best bet

I concur with all the above, i will strip mine soon. Clay. (Save my time and will polish in the spring), seal, and americana, then use GnG for the duration. Will also be doing waterless and rinseless when applicable in the garage, alongside with detail spray

Thanks everyone, will go with fresh seal soon, americana and see how i can maintain that over the winter.  Only good thing is the DD is white, so you don't see the salt stains as much.

before winter hits i take off my wax and will use the paint sealant.  top it off with h2o guard and gloss when weather permits.
