Apc vs carpet and upholstery

Hi folks,hope all is well

 

I just purchased a small bissel portable carpet cleaner. I was curious which would be better to pre scrub the carpets with? Diluted apc (old version) or carpet and upholstery cleaner full strength

Follow the directions for the Bissell and use the Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner.  I use it on my carpets in the house with great results.

Definitely Carpet and Upholstery cleaner. All I use it for is in the house. It works great for pet stains.

I’ve been thinking about getting one as a mini extractor for a while, which one did you guys go with?

Ive had 2 different Bissell carpet cleaners. One was a handlheld one which i still have in the garage. Its an older model but still works. Then i bought the proheat pet liftoff upright carpet cleaner. The bottom part would detach to create a portable unit too. 

We bought the second one because it was supposed to pick up dog hair easier. However, the difference was minimal. Not enough to justify having two, so I returned the big one and kept the old small one. 

 

Not long after that, I started using my 16 gallon ridgid shop vac from home depot and havent used the bissell since. The suction is so much more powerful on the shop vac. So what I do know is spray the carpet with adams carpet and upholstery cleaner liberally, and just vacuum everything out. If theres is a lot of hair or stubborn stains, use a small horse brush or adams cockpit brush to agitate it a bit and itll come off. Just another option, but to answer OPs question, yes carpet and upholstery cleaner will be a better choice here.

APC is a sudsing detergent

 

Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner is non-sudsing and made for cleaning carpets and upholstery

 

Sudsing type detergents will reactivate when wet since it's nearly impossible to remove all of it from the carpet fibers. If it's reactivated by the bottom of your shoes being wet the carpet will be cleaning the bottom of your shoes. Stick with the designated product for the job, you'll have much better results.
