I have some more pics of the wet sanding. Getting pretty close to being done, all the wet sanding is complete, just buffing out the scratches is left. I will  be done this week. No rush as its -5 right now and car not going anywhere !! Here are some more before and after pics. Coming out awesome. The color, the metallic, the depth and luster of the paint is so much better. No B glaze or Patriots wax, yet so the pics are buffing out the scratches only !!

Thanks. I'm guessing you know those were pictures of my 2007 engine bay pictured in the last 2 photos not the Shelby engine pictured in the first 3 pics ? The engine bay in the Shelby was nasty to say the least from the previous owner. It was claimed to be "pristine condition" in the ad, far far from it. It is now !!

I posted up some before and after pics of the wet sanding I did on my Shelby on another post on the forum and since I just got it back from adding a new hood, new side and rear splitters, and had my rocker panels, pass and drivers side painted, I thought I would show you the end result. Although there is no wax on the hood (needs to set up first) and only a coat of Brilliant Glaze on the car, the paint after wet sanding and buffing REALLY makes the paint POP !! Couple more things to do still but spring is on the horizon !!

It took some time to get it to this point, there some pics posted below of how it was when I got it a couple of years ago, horrid to say the least! I blow it out with my Master Blaster almost every time I come back from a drive, I use a long handled duster to get deep down in the engine bay, I wipe rubber all the hoses  with VRT, all other painted pieces has Brilliant Glaze and Americana on it. Upkeep with it is the key, and it never sees rain !! A little OCD doesn't help either LOL ! I also run painters tape down each side where the hood and quarter panel meet to alleviate any water getting in the engine bay. I do the same with my 2007 GT as well.

I posted in the Paint Correcting and Polishing part of the forum ( check out the before and after pics in that post), the wet sanding I had done on my Shelby GT500. I thought since I was done with it I would share some pics. Over 30 hours wet sanding, plus detail time to make it perfect before I put a coat of Brilliant Glaze and then a coat of Patriot wax on it. The wet sanding made the clarity and the depth in the paint outstanding, and then to really give it some pop, Brilliant glaze and Patriot wax was applied. All of the reflection pics are off the vehicle panels, not shot directly at the image !!

Thanks for the comment on the paint. Wetsanding it made all the difference in the world, the paint was always beautiful before, but it ( I ) needed to go to the next level to satisfy my ocd !!
I still need to give it a coat or two of Patriots wax before it hits the road in the spring but it will do for now.
Here's a couple pics  underneath the hood minus the new throttle body going on soon

I am done wet sanding and now off to my painter for the rest of the paint work I'm doing ( more fun stuff being added !!) I will start a new thread when its back to show all the added pieces, wet sanding etc. Here's the only shot I took before it left to be finished. It looks 1000 times better than the factory finish. Will keep you updated.

First of all welcome, second ditch the Meg stuff and upgrade yourself to Adams paint correcting products ! They will work faster, easier and produce better results in the end, As far as one stage paint, be careful ! Its a one shot deal and with older cars like that there's no turning back if you screw up. Go slow, be careful on corners and take your time, chances are the paint on the car is older than you. Here's some pics of some one stage paint corrections using ADAMS products. So start with an order to Adams on paint correcting products, get some Brilliant Glaze and Americana Wax, and have at it !
