mc2hill got a reaction from PT3 in Getting rid of bugs
Another technique - use thin MF towels with Adam's Car Wash Shampoo or Rinseless. Pre-treat the area with Waterless Wash, and soak thin MF towels in the wash bucket. Wring them out a little, but still slightly wet, then place them over the 'bug-y' area (in your case place at much of the towel on the vertical panel as possible, then the rest on the bottom of the fascia). Leave them in place for 5-10 minutes, remove them, and clean the area with you usual wash mitt.
I have been able to clean our love bugs with this method. The best part it is leaves your protection in place.

mc2hill reacted to Dan@Adams in 2015 Rally North America Ohio Valley 700!
Hey gang! I've been out of pocket on the forum for a few days, but it's for a great reason, I promise.
I'm participating in the 3rd Annual Rally North America 2015 Ohio Valley 700 charity road rally, benefitting the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio (EFWO). We just wrapped up Day 1 earlier this evening, and I need to get some sleep to be ready for more amazing driving and locations tomorrow, but here's a quick overview of the RNA organization and what we do.
RNA is a non-profit organization that seeks to raise money for some of the best charities out there, through our passion of automobiles. Up to 80 teams can register and help raise money for the respective charity. Typically two events are held each year - the big event in July, in a different part of the country each year, and then a somewhat smaller event in the Ohio region each Fall, to benefit the EFWO. Other than a small entry fee to cover insurance, sponsor decal packages, and so forth, all money raised goes directly to the charity. Since 2010, RNA has raised over $460,000 for charities, and for this particular OV700 event, 50 teams helped to raise over $25,000 so far!
The format of the rally is quite simple - it is NOT a race, but more of a timed scavenger hunt, usually 2-5 days in length. Teams have no knowledge of the day's route or checkpoints until they get to the start line and their time is officially recorded. Then you're off to find some very unique and breathtaking checkpoints along the way, with the help of GPS, google, paper maps...whatever your navigator decides to use Any type of wreckless driving or proof of a speeding ticket gets you an automatic disqualification from any podium finishes, and teams that do place are only eligible for a trophy finish on one day of the rally. Since we are doing this for charity and want to set a good example and be safe out on the road, we save the racing for drag strips and road courses, that are usually rented out for us after the finish line on a particular day of the rally.
If you are interested in RNA or would like to learn more, feel free to ask me or check out the website at http://www.rallynorthamerica.com
Ok, enough of my rambling, the rest of this thread will be a sort of picture-journal of my adventure on the rally. Thanks for looking
First thing was first, the little blue frankenstein truck needed cleaned up after driving through nasty construction zones all week in my town, in order to take off some of the Smoky Mountain Rally decals from this past summer and to put the new OV700 sponsor stickers on:
Yikes! Just a little bit dirty...my friend's at a local performance shop said "Dan, I don't think we've ever seen any of your vehicles this dirty before" Ha.
I started out with some Deep Wheel Cleaner, Wheel Brush, and Wheel Woolie:
DWC impresses me every time
Next up was a two-bucket wash with the Adam's Foam Gun:
Much better:
With the truck nice and clean again, I took the hair dryer to some of the old sponsor stickers and finished putting the new ones on around 11pm Thursday night...when I was going to be leaving Friday morning at 6am to travel to the start line in Michigan! Nothing like waiting until the last minute, but I've been busy with a bunch of other exciting things!
I'll continue with more updates tomorrow evening - my travel day to the start location and then Day 1 of the Rally. We're in Muskegon, Michigan this evening to start tomorrow morning and finish up in Dayton, Ohio. If anyone is nearby, we'll be drag racing at Kilkare Raceway tomorrow afternoon - 1/4 mile racing, live music, food, great people, and we will be showcasing all of the rally vehicles to the public.

mc2hill reacted to SYMAWD in Brilliant Glaze = Brilliant Plasti-Dip Remover
I love BG, but I almost never use it and I seem to get it in every mystery box and have a lot of it. I also happen to have some plasti-dip over spray on the barrel of my wheels. Just wipe on some BG, let it sit for a bit, then it will pretty much just wipe it all away with a cheap MF. Just a new use for an existing product.

Or Rinseless Wash. I use Rinseless Wash at wash strength in a spray bottle and in a bucket. Spray the area to clean and use a damp 'work' MF towel for the cleaning.

Welcome Tyler!
In addition how the others have advised you how to spend your $, I would recommend trying the H2O G&G. It is a great way to add shine and protection to any car.

Should of brought more product and buffers, as I sold out of buffers first day. Have orders for product I'll ship at later date and great show even with me not being in vendor area downtown.

mc2hill got a reaction from Ricky Bobby in Quick question about pads and backing plates
If you need to replace any pads, I would recommend moving down to the smaller 6" sizes. They work much better on the PC. I switched several years ago (same Buff&Shine pads that Adams sold, just in the 5.5" size), and I get better, faster results.

Welcome Abraham!
A Porter Cable is a fine way to start with Machine Polishing. With Adam's PCP plus the 6" MF & foam correcting pads you really do some heavy correction. Follow that with the PFP and 6" finishing pads and you have an amazing shine.

Hey gang,
Just thought I'd throw this out there......
One of my good customers and Capital City G8 Club member is heading down (as he does every year....lol) and has graciously volunteered to bring product. If anybody wants Adam's products, please get in touch with me before Wednesday (tomorrow) night, let's say 9pm Eastern Time, and I will box up your order, write your name on the box and let you know how to find Bryan. You can pre-pay me via PayPal or credit card. Bryan will have the ability to take credit card payments as well.

mc2hill reacted in Citrus based cleansers?
The manufacturer suggestions are made to remove any sealants or waxes prior to application.
If you have Adams APC, it will accomplish the same task. It's also a good idea to clay the area that the decal will be applied to.
The HGG is fine over glossy type decals. Some matte finish one's may get streaks from it. Another wipe or two with a clean plush damp microfiber easily removes streaks in my experience with HGG.

mc2hill reacted to imcrazy in Don't wash in a rush, a cautionary tale
Thanks for all the tips guys! I bought some quick connects and a lead hose, plus tossed a quick shutouff valve on the end of my hose to make changing attachments easier now that I've got, a foam gun, hose nozzle and a sheet rinse hose, plus a pressure washer that could all come into play.

Congrats you and Mrs Chas!
Before you get too much stuff in that garage, get an electrician in and add lots more outlets!
And whatever you do stay away from this place 'Beware all ye who enter" !

I made this up for my sheet rinse. I hold the hose connection in my hand a let the 'rinse' hose hang over the car.
