  1. You should be using multiple towels - first towel should be a plusher towel to absorb liquid and dirt into the nap, the follow up wipe can be a waffle weave to finish streak free (waterless towels are waffle weave) You should be using about 2-3 of each if you are doing a spray and wipe waterless wash on the whole car
  2. Brush your pads once every year keeps them in the clear
  3. No worries man just strip it and go as usual - I just feel bad because it burns me that people get duped/sold into buying these things with their new cars, even if the dealer says its "free" you are paying for it some how -
  4. I'm sure its just a blah paint sealant. It's called Point of Sale items and its pure profit for the dealership - happens a ton at Chevy/GMC, Jeep, etc - I see it the most at American car dealerships for whatever reason, probably because the take off on the sticker price of the car is usually deeper than non-American brands and the dealer needs to make it up with more POS items sold at each vehicle - We should really sticky this for potential new members because threads come up like once every other week with people's new cars and asking "what kind of protection is XXX that my dealer installed on my new car is it a coating can i touch it should I keep warranty with it" etc -
  5. Polymer Sealants, silica products etc used for protection in lieu of the traditional carnauba, natural waxes etc are much slicker and glossier in my use and repel dust and dirt better, and are more hydrophobic - You want small TIGHT beads on the surface, the big plops of beads you don't want - the tighter the beading the more hydrophobic the surface is - sounds like Wash and Wax is a winner, the name keeps it familiar but it is more of a Wash and Seal type protection
  6. ^^I agree completely - you can clean it out with a few oz of APC mixed in water as well When I power washed my house using Simple Green in the foam cannon I noticed the foaming was much better next time I washed the car lol
  7. Sweet job - where is the hole for your Brewski though and an integrated Cigar tray LOL
  8. I would say wheel cleaner and APC are really the only products needed in gallons - it took me a long time to use a gallon of car shampoo, even with a few cars in the house - Detail Spray I use as a final wipe product so a 16 oz lasts me a long time - I use a diluted rinseless for most things and for rinseless washing too so it cuts down on Detail Spray use (which is more expensive)
  9. Guys you gotta shake the crap out of it but remember there is a WAX additive in the Detail Spray which does separate a bit (if your bottles are sitting on the shelf unused you would see a bit of deposit on the bottom) the residue is probably from product not mixed up as well but keep in mind the wax additive which could in high enough uses leave a film on the surface if overused.
  10. This. Make it a house towel but yes the nature of microfiber is to trap dirt particles - so I wouldn't reuse it on the car - sure maybe a dropped towel is ok, but not one thats been ground into the asphalt driveway put a leash on that kid LOL
  11. They are still longer than ideal IMO - if those bristles were half the length it would give more scrubbing power -
  12. Keep the pressure washer 8" away or so and dont use a gas washer - I can rinse my feet off with a 15 degree tip with my 1700psi washer if its 8" away from my foot - You won't bend any fins with an electric and a safe distance
  13. I use it regularly all through the winter, because the exterior temps don't usually let me get the hose out - Worst case scenario the coin op is 10 mins down the road, I'll go in the middle of the day and blast it down with the pressure washer since their water is warm - Then come home and close the garage door and complete the rinseless wash in my garage - you will need a few more towels (usually I use 4-6, up that to about 8-9 in the winter), but you can absolutely do it just as safely, rinseless washing is all about technique - Its nice to get warm water in the bucket too so you don't have to wear gloves (not hot) - also pick up a 1 gallon garden sprayer from Home Depot, makes pre soaking a breeze with warm water/rinseless solution!
  14. If it's similar to the MTM it's accessibile after some disassembly
  15. Try the MFR dilution I listed. It will get several applications of VRT out of a block sponge that APC won't get. I've had one block in my shelf a year now and besides being stained it keeps cleaning up just fine. You have to "squeeze the goo" out with paper towels after cleaning (if you've cleaned tire applicators you know what I mean) but it will come out great
  16. I've talked to detailers who mixed up a polymer quick detailer concoction (another polymer rinseless brand popular in the industry and what Adam's is based on) and forgot about the gallon and came back years later and besides maybe losing color it was fine. If mixed with distilled or DI water it's absolutely Good for at least a year if not years. But most likely you will have used it by then
  17. Honestly the APC is pretty weak for cleaning apps and pads. I'd recommend a stronger degreaser like the tire cleaner or my preference, the MFR MFR diluted 3:1 cleans them much better than APC full strength in my testing
  18. The pre treat is good to store since it has more polymer to keep the solution stable. At 1/2 oz per gallon rinseless dilution it is meant for washing and not long term storage because there isn't enough polymer in it to "keep" as its 98% water.
  19. ITS NOT A COATING IF IT NEEDS TO BE REAPPLIED EVERY 6 MONTHS Sorry about the caps but it seems like once a week people are duped into these dealer POS (point of sale) mystery sealants that are obscure names with no literature - You paid for a paint sealant no different (and most likely inferior to) something like Adam's Paint Sealant. Maintain it how you want but if you clay bar and do an IPA wipe on your car you will be back to a bare surface. That is not a true nano ceramic coating. And it's not free of charge trust me. You paid for it somehow built into the purchase of your vehicle. A lot of dealerships pull this scam by saying its "totally free" or "included" but it's built in the price.
  20. Pink eraser for the win! Kept one in my trunk for these circumstances in high school.
  21. Pressure washer is for sure a great investment tool for washing and a 3 year warranty, aluminum pump and brass fittings on the Ryobi's from HD for $100-$179 is a bargain IMO. And it doubles as a great excuse to get a foam cannon!
  22. Matt subscribed to your testing. A soap on well maintained wheels that adds protection is surely advantageous
