  1. Good testing Chris! I'd say it's degraded but still protecting. Probably after 2 or 3 uses of wheel cleaner you would be stripped.
  2. Considering most people here blow tons of money on mystery boxes when they are run every two weeks or so I would imagine that the idea above with the $10 wild card box having the potential for a whammy (as in just $10 worth nothing more - but does have potential to be say up to $50 "jackpot wild card") is a good idea. I'm not advocating empty boxes just throwing a bit more chance into this thing is all And yes I am thinking PRESS YOUR LUCK from Game Show network lol
  3. I basically blow dry the whole thing including cracks and crevices FIRST and then do my final wipe with the drying towel and my drying lubricant of choice on the surface. This way I have everything blown out first and avoid 98% of the need for a "second wipe" because you've eliminated most of where water runs out. It goes without saying I do this in the shade for the most part - no fun to dry in the sun.
  4. That's why I don't do mystery boxes even without whammys lol. I don't gamble. I would prob die though reading about people with $200 boxes and people with only a frisbee in theirs.
  5. You could really light the gamblers up by giving more jackpots and also equalizing that with a few WHAMMY boxes where you aren't guaranteed a certain dollar amount. That would surely be a fun Mystery Box round lol
  6. Then you need a coating. It will help. It won't eliminate. But it would help for sure. Pm if you want ideas.
  7. In italics is a perfectly fine regimen - continue doing it. In non-italics is where you are getting your micromarring - you need to eliminate the wipedowns in between GDWM washes or traditional washes.
  8. The Cyclo is an underrated machine and so easy and comfy to use - nice work!
  9. Are you sure the car wasn't recently repainted? Looks like the paint hasn't cured enough thats why you are having the problem with foam and microfiber pads and multiple polishes - I don't think its on your end -
  10. Are you sure the lint is not on the inside of the windshield? My wifes Jetta Sportwagen windshield is EXTREMELY grabby, no matter what type of low nap/lint free towel I use, you can always see some - almost to the point that I want to claybar the inside of the glass because its ridiculous how grabby it is, almost like there is contaminants bonded on the inside of the glass.
  11. Phil everyone is pretty much spot on - If you are constantly obsessing about keeping it dust free and doing wipedowns, those will make the swirls pop up a lot faster. Do your GDWM washes and full bucket washes when you need, try to not touch it in between those washes, and try to not ever do "spray and wipe" washes on black. You will most likely need to go over it yearly with at least the white Finishing Polish and your Cyclo - I'd call it the "yearly black vehicle maintenance" regimen - Keep a good coat of Paint Sealant on there and whatever else you use to boost the protection in between - I'd stay away from traditional waxes on a daily driver as they do tend to attract dust, unlike polymer sealants.
  12. The mirrors are usually a very thin laminated glass - go easy - Personally I'd probably get a fresh pair of mirror glass because they are usually cheap enough, depending on the vehicle
  13. Personally I would rather my wife have to lean over the hood/roof and possibly get her top wet with suds, its the little things that make me happy after a few years of marriage - so no wash pole for me.
  14. Yes its a tough enough material - honestly though I would just use a scrub brush - something like a fender brush which has stiff bristles, to loosen up the gunk They sell a brush like this in Home Depot
  15. Guz is on point. Couldn't have said it better myself. Think about it this way you probably take baths with muscle soaks and special soaps and your bath doesn't suds up. We stopped taking bubble baths when we were kids right? Bubbles are fun for baths (and car washes) but it's everything else but the bubbles that's important when washing and bathing both yourself and your car.
  16. ^This - you could alternatively just go with 3000 grit wetsanding first in order to cut down on the amount of dead clear to remove - But yes, be sure you aren't concerned with trashing a few pads - and they will be trashed working on that lol
  17. ^yep. I had this on a 30 year old Oldsmobile recently. It just comes out shinier but still has the same spots lol
  18. I like the old red pumps on the shampoo bottles because you could do about 14 pumps for 2 oz
  19. Twist the knob up top back and forth a few times. Might be hanging up Similar to "exercising" a torque wrench
  20. The microfiber applicators work fine but its easier to lay it down thin with a hex grip IMO - I've used both and prefer hex grip applicators for applying sealant - you also use less product
  21. Unless you're trying to get a hot date from a babe trust me they will be wowed with just the claying and sealant and a thorough wash and vac on the interior - if you have the time, apply whatever extra you want on top lol
