  1. I strongly suggest u watch adams videos on polishing . Particularly the older ones . Get on his youtube channel and check them out ,there really quite good
  2. Those polishes are really hard to compare . Adams are a diminishing abrasive and 105/205 are not. If u are going to try adams stuff just go ahead and get his pads too . He set that up as a system to make it easy .
  3. the sidekick is not really intended to dry the whole car. It really to get the water out of the nooks and crannyz. But....if u work it right u can dry most of the car it just takes a little more time. I use a sweeping action similar to what u would use to wash the dirt off your driveway using a hose . I kinda watch the drops and push them off the car rather than trying to dry them up. I never use even a 1/4 bottle of spray to clean up the remaining spots . I little technique will go a long way . As for the pad, I don't use em nd from reading about these micros swirls I never will . I don't care if it the bottom of the car or not ,nothing that scratches my finish in any capacity will touch my car. I have a nice Chanelle Mitt I'm happy with anyway .
  4. Flex 8mm throw forced rotation Swirl killer 15 mm free floating spindle The swirl killer is likely smoother the flex is more expensive but likely corrects faster. Also the flex will walk u around if the pad is not perfectly flat . The swirl killer will get pad stall in the curves. It's really hard to compare those two because there so different. If your a hobbyist the swirl killer will be all your likely gonna need. For me comfort was priority 1. So the flex was out due to the forced rotation.
  5. For an etching like Derek has . Just by hand . Soak the paper and use a spray bottle of water
  6. dunno I allways just use water. Detail spray is some expensive water lol. The water is not for lubrication it's to wash away the spent clear and anything in the paint sanded off
  7. if u try a quality polisher like the cyclo or rupes u will never use that pc again unless u have to there a world of difference just in comfort alone
  8. Gen 5 pads were a year and 4 months ago . Gen 6,6 months ago and they look like gen 4 pads . Now the new new ones
  9. That's a great post to help Derek visualize the process. Good job btw it looks fantastic:)
  10. Just a shot of detail spray on foam . I prime right up on microfiber
  11. did u happen to aquire a new microfiber Version too? Haha
  12. Depends how deep the etching is,it might not be that deep . It doesn't look like he has lost his clear coat to me ,just a bird etching . Once he starts sanding he will be able to see how deep it really is. If it's pitted sure he won't be able to save it and should stop. But suggesting he not try because it will thin his clear coat is like suggesting he not remove swirls because it thins his clear . All polishing removes a little clear.
  13. I would just wet sand it and be done . No matter the method your gonna remove some clear coat.
  14. I am waiting on these also buddy I chose cyclo as well. It's kinda disappointing cyclo users were left out here . But ....I saw a post from dam stating that they would come for the cyclo they are just not in stock yet ,hope it true
  15. any idea of when a 4" pad for the cyclo will be available?
