Kourtney@Adams reacted to Dan@Adams in Rupes mini applying sealant or glaze
This is true for machines like the Porter Cable 7424XP, Cyclo, Rupes LHR 15ES, Rupes LHR 21ES, and Flex 3401 VRG that we offer, setting them at speed setting 1 or 2, but not for the Rupes Mini - it's just too powerful and awesome of a little machine to use for sealant and glaze application!

The Mini is designed for paint correction in hard to reach areas. The lowest OPM setting on the Mini is much higher than the Bigfoot 15 and 21 - the lowest speed setting on the LHR 15ES and LHR 21ES is 2,000 OPM compared to the lowest speed setting of 4,000 OPM on the Mini.

If the Mini is your only polisher, it would be better to seal and glaze those tight areas by hand using a Black Microfiber Applicator or a Red Hex Grip Applicator.

I am a new Customer to Adam's Products, but have been familiar with this company for quite some time now.  I finally purchased my dream car, and of course when you make an important investment...you want to protect your investment long term with the best quality products out there.  So after reviewing virtually every video on the site and sifting through all of the products that may be suitable for me, I felt as if I were ready to make a purchase, but still had some questions....so I called.

Dan answered my call.  He LITERALLY spent well over an hour with me on the phone, going through products, answering my questions, making sure I was getting everything that I needed, giving me advice, etc.  If there was something that he didn't think I quite needed at the moment, he would tell me.  I never felt for one minute that he was trying to up-sell me -- it was straight up EXCELLENT customer service.  Of course, I placed a fairly sizable order, but was happy to get everything that I needed.

I received my package within a couple of days, and I was like a kid in a candy store. I quickly unpacked and organized all of my new products...except, I was missing one....the Waterless Wash.  Because I have a White Car, I was very excited to receive this product and even ordered the Waterless Wash Towels which did arrive.  I checked the invoice, and it was not listed.  I remember at the end of my order, Dan reviewed everything with me and I agreed...so this was obviously my fault.  But of course, I still wanted the product.

So, I called and reached Benjamin on the phone this time.  I explained my situation and asked if I could begin another order for the Waterless Wash and perhaps a couple of other products.  Before I could say anything else, Ben offered to send me a bottle for free (free shipping as well).  I declined and explained that I wouldn't feel right accepting that, and asked him to review what I purchased previously, just to see if there was anything I was missing that I could buy along with the Waterless Wash.  He said, "No, you're good.  You have everything you need.  I'll send you out a bottle in the morning."  Within 3 days, the product had arrived as he promised.  I mean really???  What company does this??

To this date, because of the hectic holidays, I haven't been able to sample all of the products yet -- but have been able to try the Detail Spray (Amazing), The Leather and Interior Cleaner, the Glass Cleaner, and of course....the Waterless Wash.  So, far I am extremely happy with the quality of the products and can't wait to use them all.

Mr. Adam....all I can say is that if your product is half as amazing as your staff and customer service is, you will be keeping my business for many years into the future.  Kudos again to Dan and Benjamin for going way above and beyond.  Thank you both so very much!  God Bless.

YES! Send that to me RIGHT NOW! I love that new logo!

One other option to consider for those of us with very nice hairstyles that get messed up with hoodies, is a front zip, with that round logo shown smaller on the chest, then the rectangular version of that same logo, shown large on the back.

I would buy a couple of each version.

I also think that logo would look great on a white, heavyweight cotton tee.

It's been discussed many times before.

You shouldn't. It would be extremely expensive, it would freeze in colder temperatures and possibly ruin the pump on a washer fluid system.

    Paint Sealant

Once the paint correction was done I was ready to apply the Liquid Paint Sealant (LPS). I continued using the cyclo, but switched to the grey sealant pads. I made an “X” on the pad with LPS and turned the machine speed to 3. I placed to machine on the paint and turned it on. When applying LPS all you want to do is apply it and get even coverage there is no need for multiple passes. So after I applying it to all panels I went back and wiped it all off. If there is still residue on the paint you can use a shot of detail spray to help remove it.

    Tire and Fender Dressing

When I use Adam’s Tire Shine I like lots of gloss, so here is my method of applying. I spray the tire liberally and let it soak while spraying down the other tires. Then I come back and using a Hex Grip Tire Applicator I spread the Tire Shine to a nice even Gloss. After spreading the Tire Shine, I use Detail Spray to wipe down the wheels to remove and overspray from the tire shine.  If you don’t like to much gloss, you can spray Tire Shine directly on the applicator and then spread it. As for the fenders I always use Adam’s Invisible Undercarriage Spray (IUS). Whether they are cloth or plastic IUS makes the fender nice and black. All you have to do is spray liberally for a nice even matte finish. Here are the before and after photos.

    Trim and Rubber Dressing

The two products I use to make trim a nice rich black is, Adam’s Vinyl, Rubber and Tire Dressing (VRT) as well as In and Out spray. These two products are easy to use and don't leave a greasy residue. I use In and Out spray for the trim around the windows, and the trim below the windshield. I spray it evenly across the trim and use a microfiber to remove any residue and blend the dressing. As for the VRT, I used a foam block and applied it to the step up bars. Apply VRT directly to the block and fold the block together to evenly distribute the dressing. Then I simply the spread the VRT on to the piece of trim I was working with. Work it in until it is an even finish. Make sure you apply these products before doing the windows. Here is the finished product.

Applying Glass Sealant and Cleaning Glass

Adam’s Glass Sealant is a must have for any vehicle and can be applied to all windows. When applying Glass Sealant you should clay the glass first making sure there are no contaminates on the glass. Using a Microfiber Applicator put about 10 drops of the sealant onto the applicator. It doesn't take much. Apply the sealant evenly using cross hatching technique. Allow the sealant to haze up.

Buff off the residue using Adam's Glass Cleaner and a Blue Glass Towel. When properly applied water should bead off in a ridiculous fashion and wipers become almost useless in the rain.

In my opinion this is the best way to clean glass without any streaks. Fold the towel into Quarters. Spray the window with Glass Cleaner. Wipe evenly in straight lines. then flip the towel to the dry side and buff any remaining residue in the same straight lines.

    Final Results

This GMC Denali came out great even though it only had 700 miles on it, it still needed some love. Now it is prepped for winter and in showroom condition. Please feel free to ask any and all questions you may have. I am here to answer them. Thanks for looking.

Figured might be cool to post an update here.  We closed on the house on October 30th and almost immediately started doing some updates.  We move in tomorrow, with the backsplash, carpet and final sink hook-up being finished (hopefully) today.  In all, new hardwood was put in, popcorn ceilings removed and some updates to the downstairs half bathroom.  I will try and put some before and afters in.  To say I'm excited is an understatement.  Hoping in the spring to make a large adam's order to outfit the garage appropriately.  Other than granite, hardwood and popcorn ceilings my wife and I have done the work ourselves, its a rewarding experience.

Glass Sealant will turn hazy occasionally. I'm not sure what causes this but the performance should be the same. Give it a try and if you don't think it's preforming well or anything weird is happening we will send you a replacement for it.

I ordered the trim and lug nut brush on my last order and when I used it the first time a lot of the bristles fell out and were all over the car. I called the customer service number asking if this was normal and they sent me out a new one, free of charge.

Not many company's care so much about their customers, but Adams does and I will be a lifelong customer for sure!

If you don't like it then return it for the 110% guarantee and buy something else - its still one of the best working, pH neutral, non gloss enhancing shampoos on the market with a ton of lubricity - color and smell are not the top factors in a product for me personally, obviously I don't want it to smell like puke, but how it works is a bigger concern for me

I look at this from a slightly different perspective. Rather than debating the safety of Detail Spray, I'd focus on not putting food directly in contact with the counter. Reason being any residue could be lurking on the surface. Not only cleaning products, but other items such as uncooked food could of come in contact with the surface. Personally, I'd be a lot more concerned about raw chicken than Detail Spray.

    Hello Matt,

I know the feeling of being very eager to get started. Starting your own business is very challenging. You should take your time, make a proper business plan and get everything straight in your head. This can take several months. In the mean time you can continue practicing your skills and slowly progressing.

Also, having options for detail levels for your customers to choose from is key. Reason being a large percentage of your customers will not care about paint correction let alone notice your quality of paint correction. I started out doing two step paint correction ie. Adams Paint Correcting Polish followed with their Paint Finishing Polish. Let me tell you, it is a huge waste of time and energy. Currently my "full" customer detail includes, Wash (fenders, wheels, grills, emblems, doorjambs), one step polish, wax (sealant is an upgrade), tire shine, interior cleaning. Obviously that is the shortened version, but you get the point. Remember customer service is key, you must do what ever is necessary to make them happy.

You can PM me with any other questions you may have.
