  1. Yes you can. And sealant isn't necessary after, but certainly will help. Clay the windshield and other windowz while you're at it! You might also consider Revive to remove spots on your wheels, then seal them with PS, HGG or similar. Maybe even wheel coating.
  2. So I will throw out there I asked the "what to do with dropped clay" of Adam during a clinic one time. He actually said the Visco clay would be fine to keep using. I was surprised, and it's certainly possible one of misunderstood the other, but thought I'd mention it to see if anyone had heard something similar.
  3. No need to hold off, I don't think. Unless you're set on BG first. I'll echo the general rule is most durable first, then layer over that. But it's your car. Either way, this is yet another sign of the addiction setting in! Happy ordering!
  4. Hmm. I wouldn't recommend the cheap ones, and the edgeless might absorb too much to be effective. Same with the great white, not to mention it's a bigger towel. Do you have Eco APC to clean the applicator before BG?
  5. Wait! That's not what I meant. ?Red is a primary color of the Adam's brand after all!
  6. No way to clean the Visco clay, you just keep stretching and folding it in on itself. According to the Visco product site, the Visco clay will last for dozens of vehicles, less for heavily contaminated cars. When it starts feeling tacky, probably about time to replace it. If it drops, it's a general rule you should also replace it (may have picked up something you can't see in the clay...but will see the swirls from later). The clay mitt is advertised to be used 20-40 times and can easily be rinsed with water during or after use. Super easy to use, it speeds things up dramatically. I love it. The trade off is increased potential for marring, so a polish will likely be needed afterwards. Watch these for more details:
  7. The "black" applicator is actually the grey MF applicator, and they work great for PS and BG both. Get them if you can; and if you have a polisher, the grey pad is color coded for the PS. If you only have one applicator, I'd recommend you use it for the PS as even coverage is more important with that than the BG. Towels might work ok with the BG, but I've never tried. What kind(s) do you have?
  8. I bet it would! Oh, and if you're gonna assess the paint presumably for what the WW may have done, do it before you clay as that could add some marring to the mix.
  9. I store all mine inside, but for you, I'd recommend thick chemicals (sealants, polishes, waxes) should be kept inside, thin chemicals (GC, LIC, etc.) can probably be left in the garage. You've said you read most info, but in case you missed this, here's an article with more info, and that directly answers your question.
  10. It should be fine under the hood, but the Eco APC will be a much better degreaser. If you haven't seen the videos, here are a couple and a forum article... Also note if you really aren't happy with the product, Adam's will gladly honor their 110% guarantee. Just give them a call. I tend to use diluted RW, as well, for much the same reasons. But I throw in WW every once in while just for the smell alone.
  11. Too cool, Elias. Bet you're wishing you only had $7 cash ?. I know Emery works behind the glass, and he's known to be super helpful, so maybe it was him. But either way, Adam has an awesome staff all around... Happy to hear they took good care of you!
  12. ^^^ Lookin' great, Jimmy! Love the license plate, BTW!
  13. Oldie but goodie video from Adam on layering with PS, BG, BW and Americana. Note neither HGG nor Ceramic Boost had been released yet, and Patriot, I think, was a limited release at the time (someone that's been around Adam's longer feel free to chime in...video is from September 2014). He even gives a shout-out to the forums on here...pretty cool. And the forums have exploded in membership since. 10K members then to nearly 17K today. But who's doing "wild and cray" stuff on here?!
  14. , Dao! MBs are a great way to start...and keep the addiction going later on, too. Ask any questions you have, we're all here to learn and help.
  15. Highly recommend PS, especially for a daily. Protection lasts ateast 6 months. Yes, you should still strip and clay a new vehicle. Also strongly consider Iron Remover to further remove any residual rail dust. Then polish, seal, and HGG (or wax) and watch it shine like a new penny! Post some pics when you're all done. Adam's PS is advertised to last at least 6 months. Maintaining with HGG, which is an acrylic product like the sealant, or the Ceramic Boost, which is a silica-based product bht still higly effective, will ensure continued protection and shine. If I remember, your car is white, right? Assuming so, here's an example of the results I got this spring with strip wash, clay mitt, CP, and just PS. 3+ months and counting and my PS is holding up just fine. Adding HGG only adds more protection and makes it shine that much more. Yep, you'd be fine. But I really recommend HGG. Strip wash it first to remove any residual wax, etc. Then yes, clay will be recommended. Before clay, you could do the baggie test, as well, if only for grins to see (feel) the difference after clay. Another tip: Don't dry the car after rinsing the strip wash...it'll help add more lubricity in addition to the DS. Also, each time you clay, just be aware it may cause some marring of the paint so a polish may be in order. Swirls obviously aren't as noticeable on white, but you may need to polish no less. When you do reapply the PS, be sure to strip wash it again, clay, etc. Another product to recommend but I haven't used but have seen in action is the Iron Remover, especially on white. If not available, WC is another option; just don't let either dry on the paint.
  16. Welcome to the addiction, Wayne! You're gonna break the bank eventually. May as well do it like a Band-Aid. Right off! https://adamspolishes.com/shop/kits/washing-cleaning/adam-s-ultimate-kit.html Add in the 15% off and free shipping, and it's an even better deal. Trust me. You'll spend it eventually. It's only a matter of time. You've been warned.
  17. You can start with one and see how it goes. Constantly rewetting it will help keep it from hardening. Just be sure to always close the cap in between drops. But you can have two sides available by using the ones adjacent to the side with the seam instead of the one opposite it.
  18. So question based in ignorance...are "lots of pads" needed because they will become clogged with...what? Paint? Polish? All the above? Something else? Never done a single stage and only seen a brief demo.
  19. You got it! Sorry about that. Oz gave a good tip, and acronyms are also posted here. For the order, PS first (should last at least 6 months on a daily), then use HGG every 3-4 washes to maintain. I personally don't use wax on my white car as the HGG lasts at least a month and offers outstanding shine and protection. But if you want to use it, no harm...just might not be necessary. Recommend you read the article I gave above as it also talks about layering. Then, try the options and see what you think. But the paint sealant, if used, should be first since it bonds best to bare paint (some use BG just before PS, but I don't). Post some pics when you have it all Adamized!
  20. Welcome, Perry! In any other circumstances, admittal is first on the road to recovery. In this case, only shine can help.
  21. Welcome, Edgar! Let's see some pics of your ride(s).
  22. Welcome, Elias! I also have a white car, and for it I'd recommend a PS and HGG combo. At least until you decide on coating. Wax will also add some protection, but it won't give quite the depth as on darker colored cars. Thus the reason I personally recommend the others. W&W works great on white, too. Suggest you read this for more on the products and then decide what you want to try.
  23. Could not agree more, Jamey! Emery and Matt both went out of there way to take care of me on a recent visit to the HQ. Hats off to both of you guys...and the entire Adam's team!! Keep up the great work.
