H2O GG vs Ceramic Boost
falcaineer replied to TexWalker's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Before you do, I recommend you read this, especially the latter part about layering. I think you'll find one or the other will be sufficient. -
clean door jams
falcaineer replied to DirtySanchez's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Waterless Wash or diluted Rinseless Wash (16:1) and blue waterless wash towels. Works like a charm. -
They've been gone a good while...months, at least. Not sure if they'll make a comeback or not.

How to wash the microfiber towels?
falcaineer replied to Mattmac1522's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Dan gives some sound advice here. Question, Dan...is soaking them/pretreating with APC before using liquid detergent a good practice in the meantime? -
How to wash the microfiber towels?
falcaineer replied to Mattmac1522's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Agreed on All Free & Clear...others like Tide. But really, any dye/perfume-free liquid detergent will work. Never use fabric softener, sheets or liquid. And use the extra rinse function if your washer has it. When possible, pick up the MRB...worth every penny. -
Matte Detailer and Matte Protectant
falcaineer replied to Scott_TX's question in Exterior Protection & Enhancement
Use it after you apply the Matte Detailer. Instructions and a video are posted on the product page: http://adamspolishes.com/adam-s-matte-protectant-16oz.html. -
For durability, nothing. Read this for more on the differences between glazes, waxes, sealants and coatings.

Always ask the paint shop. Tell them what you want to do, and they should be able to tell you timelines to wait, if any.

Spray and walk away engine dressing...
falcaineer replied to stripesace's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
You shouldn't experience too much run off in the engine bay under normal conditions. But if you do, just reapply. As you know, VRT isn't meant to be a long-term product. I've also seen others use ID for the engine bay, and I think even Matte Detailer. Has anyone tried the black trim restorer under the hood? -
Might I ask...what's the benefit of keeping the coating in your car at all times?

Adam's Forums stickers
falcaineer replied to falcaineer's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
I don't put them on my cars, either, but use them other places like shelves, containers, etc. -
Wash and wax & ceramic boost?
falcaineer replied to Amish R/T's question in Exterior Protection & Enhancement
My gut says yes, it's an unnecessary step. My concern would be diminishing the effects of the W&W and HGG by adding yet another layer of what's essentially a third sealant. But I'll defer to others on here who may have tried this before. In the meantime, read this thread if you haven't already, especially towards the end when it explains layering. -
Wash and wax & ceramic boost?
falcaineer replied to Amish R/T's question in Exterior Protection & Enhancement
I'm sure you'll be happy. Just beware the boost doesn't play nicely with glass (unlike the HGG, thus one reason I prefer it instead), so avoid getting it on there as best you can. -
So, lots of us love your stickers, me included. So how about an Adam's Forums version(s)? You have the template already on the website, but you can add other colors, etc. to spice things up, too. They could also be used as nametags for clinics, events, etc., with small "cutouts" on them for name/forum name. Thoughts?

Wash and wax & ceramic boost?
falcaineer replied to Amish R/T's question in Exterior Protection & Enhancement
Haven't done that, no, but it will work just fine. Some on here have swapped HGG for Ceramic Boost as their maintenance sealant to rave reviews. I'm not one of them as I prefer HGG and its ease of use on all surfaces, but you may find the boost better suits your needs. So you know, Wash & Wax isn't a true carnuba wax. It's actually a silica based product just like the ceramic coating. So, you're actually using two silica based products with this combo. -
Rich, you have it easy. "Hi, I'm Rich. My forum name is...Rich." <insert mic drop> P.S. I hope you all have a blast! I've actually made this nametag suggestion for the clinics at the HQ...let us know how it goes for this event and maybe they will adopt it for the clinics. Wait, I have an idea...(see Product Feedback forum)

Any way you can develop/release a pad for use on a machine polisher that will remove polish, sealant, etc. residue? Is that even possible? Thinking of a Double Soft Towel made into a pad, maybe, made to be used at slow speeds. I'm gonna call it the "Save Our Shoulders" campaign, for now. And reference this for my patent if it's doable! Or has someone out there found one and/or figured out a prototype for the rest of us to use?

Rinseless Wash - Great Results!
falcaineer replied to KoryMiller340's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
Yep. Here's a video on the process. -
Welcome to the addiction, Jeff! You've come to the right place. Congrats on the new toy. Post some pics when you get the chance.

Awesome token of thanks, Lenore. Being an Air Force guy, I'll overlook his choice of service branches () and celebrate his service to our country...and his shared love of delicious goodies!

TRC is great stuff. Did you try (Eco) APC? That should also remove any residue.

I had to put sunglasses on just to look at the pictures. Nice work!

Oh, and got furloughed thanks to the government shutdown. Can't wash the car because it's too cold. Quite the day!
