  1. Well guys, here's what worked. I took a towel and a flat screwdriver (small) and while having the towel under the screwdriver, lightly tapped on the gravel/tar spot and wha-la. Popped right off. For all of the smaller spots, I used a plastic putty knife and got all those off too. Now to get the smudge spots off the rim, I'm thinking of a degreaser or All Purpose cleaner on the inside of the rims. Thanks for all your suggestions!
  2. Thanks guys! I'll try a stronger petroleum based product and a plastic putty knife.
  3. I'm detailing a friends Ram pickup and the rims were absolutely terrible! The problem I'm having is that there seems to be tar or tar and gravel mix stuck to the inside of the rims. OK. I've tried all the solutions I know of and I still can't get this mess off of all 4 rims. Anybody know of any tricks. See the attachments. Thanks
  4. Back up and running as of 7:42 PST...WHEW! Hope Adam's didn't loose any business due to this.
  5. Sorry to see this happen for an established business. I do IT stuff on the side and it's always a 24/7 job with web systems that need to be operational all the time. Hope you get it back up and running soon. Adam's doesn't have a backup server? You might look into that avenue if this keeps up.
  6. Went down again. 2/20/17 Quit right in the middle of an order......NOT GOOD!
  7. Shane, I'm in the same mind set as you. Glaze, and 2 coats of wax works perfect on my cars.
  8. Ask Adam. He stated that fact in one of his videos. Layering wax.
  9. I hope I'm in the right Forum area......Question, How may layers of Adam's Americana Wax can you apply before a dulling effect kicks in from too much wax? The reason I ask is that there is a 3rd party vendor who's advertising they're past wax (for the same price) that you can layer all you want. ****37 Trademark Carnauba Paste Wax contains a purified carnauba with clear, reflective polymers that allow you to layer it as many times as desired to achieve the look you want. I read some where within this forum and/or one of Adam's videos that if you layer too much wax, it will start to dull the shine. Is this the case with Adam's Americana Wax?
  10. Did a complete detail on a friends Porsche GT3. He was in the hospital for minor surgery for a few days. I told him to drop off the car and I'd clean'er up for him so he can go cruis'n with the wife when he got better.
  11. I tried to use the mini for paste wax, but I found the lowest speed a little too fast for an even application. I use my cordless drill with the Adam's cordless backing plate and the black pad to be my best option. I can vary the speed during the wax application to my needs....(my 2 cents)
  12. Same here....with the SideKick....Hardly use any towels. Maybe 1 or 2 at the most.
  13. I'll agree with MZ3......the wheel cleaner is great. Sorry I don't have a before pic, but here's the final results. The wheels had a ton of brake dust on the inside of the rim with the outside pretty much filthy. The wheel cleaner worked so good, I had to buy a gallon of it.....
  14. Need a little help here. I can't find the quick attachment that would fit Adam's Foam Cannon and my Karcher high pressure washer.I can't find the model number...... This unit is 10 years old and still works like a charm. Attached are pics of the unit and the attachment ends. They are 1/4 turn ends that I need to convert to quick style for the foam cannon.
  15. Nathan.....Didn't think of that! Like Rich, I used a rag top cleaner from a 3rd party vendor. When I washed it, the old sealant came right off. (no beading action) Just got done adding the 2nd and final coating to the clean top. Came out pretty good. Besides the protection, there's not much calling for water repellent here in Las Vegas..... Besides, I wouldn't drive my baby in the rain unless I got caught off guard.
  16. I'm sure at some time in the past, Adam's must have toyed with the idea of offering a fabric top cleaner and sealant. Guessing it wasn't going to be a hot seller, they didn't add it to the line of they're product line.. So having to go to a 3rd party vendor, I got the cleaner and sealant and went to work. Now I just have to wait for the top to dry before I add the sealant. Hey Adam's.....think you might see the need to offer some kind of convertible top kit? Sure would be nice for all us "Rag Top" guys! Just for fun, I attached a few pics......

    New Sticker

No sticker or mints in my last order!
  18. I always watch where I park my cars when shopping. No matter how picky you are about your parking spots, someone always finds your car. I had just spent the day before detailing the wife's new (Used) 2014 Mercedes E350 and got it detailed just the way I wanted it. Case in point, here are some pics of my scratch removal using Adam's Finishing Polish. I forgot to take a pic before I started, but I Photo Shopped the scratch line in RED just to give you an idea of the damaged area. The scratch wasn't that deep (fingernail test) so I decided to use the Finishing Polish instead of the Correcting polish and make a few extra passes just to play it safe. In the last pic, you can see the final results....Whew! Using 3 slow passes....3 times, the scratch was gone. Adam's Finish Polish with the SK Mini did the trick.
  19. To apply the Brilliant Glaze, I use my cordless drill with the ADAM'S 4” CORDLESS DRILL BACKING PLATE . with the ADAM'S 4" RED FOAM PAD . Just use a really slow speed to spread the Glaze to get an even coverage. Don't put it on to thick. Nice even thin coating works perfect. Everything else goes on by hand.
  20. 3M clear bra film is the worst. It doesn't hold up to the elements that well and will fade and yellow over time. I've found Pro-Tect film to be a much higher quality film that is used for bra's and full body coverings. After years of experience with different brands over the past years, I'm much happier with the newer generation films that have come to market. I just installed a Pro-Tect fender bra on my wife's black Mercedes Benz. We will see over time how my second Pro-Tect holds out. The first one on my BMW X3 has lasted pretty good with the summer sun here in Las Vegas. I've always kept a coating of Brilliant Glaze on it after every washing. It still is holding it's clarity with no signs of discoloration or drying out and fading. In the attached photo, the Pro-Tect film is 16" up the hood. You can't even see it.
  21. I applied BG to my BMW X3 with a HUD and it works fine. I've found that it does keep the hazing on the inside wind shield down. Also applied it to my other cars too.
