Oxi boost for washing MF towels?
Geebee replied to falcaineer's question in Towels, Brushes, & Accessories
I would play it safe and just use the microfiber rejuvenator 1 to 2 ounces alone in the wash. I have a washing machine (HE) that has a “Whitest/White” cycle. Hot wash/cold rinse/high spin/second rinse. I spot treat any white towel with a spray of microfiber rejuvenator, let it sit for 5 minutes and then throw it in the wash. That’s been working fine for me. -
Thanks Michael.......I'll try that. What foaming tire shine did you use?
-
Dumb question, but anybody know a good way to clean the engine bay insulator that's mounted on the hood? I did some brushing and vacuuming out the dust, but I'd like to get it a little shiny. I don't know what the material is so..... Take a look at the attachment

Limited Edition Interior Detailer
Geebee replied to jakerodz7's question in Interior Cleaning & Care
I love the smell of the limited edition. Still have the streaking issues that are the same as the original version. I've read the other threads on this issue and it looks like I'll need to switch back to my other brand of interior detailer. Hate to say it, using Adam's brand of Interior Detailer is more work than it should be. -
Given Up on Glass Cleaning Towels
Geebee replied to scottkalbfeld's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I've found what works for me is to clean the windows with the glass cleaner and the towels, then take a single soft or double soft towel and wipe the whole window down. If you have any spotting or streaking, it gets rid of them. -
Call it "Pack Santa's Xmas Bag" Have the customer choose the sample products they would want and add a 15% discount.

I like to use the tape to section off areas to work on. You can also see the before and after of your work. Plus as Shane said, to tape off the trim so you don't have a mess on your hands.

The winters aren't real bad here in Las Vegas. Temps down to the low 30's and sunny and partly cloudy days. Not much rain, but there will be a few days. My prep is wash, polish where needed to remove swirls, Paint Sealant, (let it cure for 48 hrs.) glaze, and 2 coats of Americana Wax. The results are outstanding and should last 3 months or more. I had to go to the local BMW dealership to pick up a part and when I came back out, I had 4 people surrounding my car admiring the shine. One of the salesmen asked me what I used and I told him about Adam's Products. He never heard of them. Well now, Adam's might have a new customer. -

Adams needs better holiday discounts!!
Geebee replied to hemi1300's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Something along this line, I'd love to see a Swirl Killer Jr. Something along the lines of the Rupes LHR75E#120/H6/US/STD Random Orbital Polisher. I don't have the $299.00, so I'll have to ask Santa. (I've been good this year! ) Never mind....I think I've found an alternative. (See the attachment) That I can afford. I'll see how this will work for my hard to reach areas and small polishing jobs. As for pricing, yea Adam's is a little higher in price compared to the competition. Adam's and CG both buy for the same chemical supplier Warner Chemical and tweek their products to meet their standards. What makes the difference for me is the Customer Service. For the couple of times I had issues, Adam's Customer Service went over backwards to help remedy the situation. That alone in my book is work and extra buck or two. I will continue to go with Adam's for 99.5% of my detailing needs. There are some products on the market from other manufacturers that I prefer over Adams. -
I knew that....LOL The point of my initial thread was I was wondering what grade of carnuba and the ratio that is used in Adam's Americana Wax (Brazilian #1 grade yellow, T1, T2, lignite wax....etc) to beeswax, polymers, solvents and oils. Again, I love Adam's Americana Wax! But from the consumers point of view is the pricing to the other brands on the market. With Adam's I would assume your paying for quality of the ingredients used to produce the product. Along with that point, Adam's has the BEST customer service along with a great PR output (instructional and sales videos). That's why I'll stick with Adam's for the vast majority of my detailing needs.

I was just wondering more than anything the ratio of carnuba to additives in Americana Wax. I love the wax and it does a fantastic job. I'm not going to switch just yet.
-
Anybody know the ratio of Carnuba wax to Beeswax and additives in Americana Wax? I use Americana Wax exclusively on my cars and love the results. A detailing buddy of mine has been using P21S 100% carnuba on his black Porsche 911 for the past year. His Porsche looks like a black mirror! Perfect! He's been paying $58.99 for a 6oz. jar. Hmmmm.....for $10.00 more I can get 100% carnuba. Convince me to keep using Americana Wax....

Nice!

FYI the orders@adams.com link on the Contact Us page doesn't work. All I get is a completely blank page. Tried Chome, IE, Neither one worked.

Plugged up holes……Leather heated seats
Geebee replied to Geebee's question in Interior Cleaning & Care
Joe, Thanks for the tips.....I'll be working on it this weekend. It looks like more of some kind of conditioner that dried and plugged up the holes in the seats more that a set stain. I'll post my results here and let you guys know the results. -
Thanks Chris.....I'll update this page after I tackle this scratch.
-
This might sound a little strange, but I have a scratch on my trunk lid that to the touch I don't feel the scratch! It's like the scratch is under the clear coat. The area over and around and over it is completely smooth. If you look at the attached pic, you can get an idea of that I'm talking about. Question: You think I could use the Orange Pad and Correcting Polish, then finish up with the Finishing Polish with the White Pad? I've never come across something like this smooth scratch and wondering if I'm headed in the right direction for the fix. Thanks for your suggestions.

Excellent results with Adam's Americana Wax and Brilliant Glaze. You can see from the pic, I will need to get rid of the minor swirling on the hood. You really can't see them unless you really look close and at a certain angle from the sun. So, I'll give Revive a try first and see how that pans out.
