  1. Need some advise..... I have a few spots that I can't polish out due to the depth. So I took touch up paint and filled in the spot. I added a little more paint as to get a little rounded top of the touch up so I could polish it down to match the finish. Question......Should I use Adam's Correcting or Heavy Correcting Polish with a Micro Fiber cutting pad (blue or yellow) or the foam pad to flatten out the touched up area? I've attached a few pics, but looking at them they look white. It's the glare from my garage lighting. I'll show the results if I get it right......If not.....Oh well.
  2. I have 3 cars with the clear bra's and have used Brilliant Glaze with no problems. Even Americana Wax will adhere and add some protection to the film.
  3. Along the same lines, if I was my car with Adam's Car Wash (foam gun) that already has a coat of Paint Sealant, Americana Wax (2 coats) is H2O Guard really needed? It's my understanding that H2O Guard should to be applied to the car finish after a Strip wash so that it will bond to the painted surface. Am I correct with my assumption?
  4. OK, thanks guys. I'll add some All Purpose Cleaner to the Dawn and see how that works out. Appreciate the ideas........
  5. Hi Folks.......I need to strip wash my black Mercedes and was wondering if I'd accomplish the same results if I use Dawn Dish washing Liquid rather than Adam's Strip wash. Dawn will remove all the layers of wax and sealants, so could I go that route? I need to get this done within the next 2 days and don't have any Adam's Strip Wash to use.
  6. Shane.... I was surprised how small the Blue Micro Fiber Pads were. They work on my Groits Mini fine. I'll give them a try this weekend.
  7. I got this one about 3 months ago. Measures 4' exactly on the back and 4 1/4 on the face. This might be the old version of the Blue Pad for metal polishing. The second Blue Micro Fiber Cutting pad is the last pic. I just bought that one a week ago. Hope that helps!
  8. Brian,You know it's still tuff to sleep at night at times. But I'm back to a normal person's sleeping schedule. When I can't sleep at night is when I do all my detail work in the garage....
  9. My routine has been......after a strip wash, clay....etc. Adams Paint Sealant Let it cure for a min of 2 days Adams Americana Wax One coat, then a second 4 to 5 days later Brilliant Glaze to keep the shine going over time. You can layer the Glaze as much as you want. It will not build up. Adams Detail Spray before the drive if needed.
  10. Jason, what type of A/C you fly? Me, I'm a retired 767 Capt. of 36 years for a major Air Cargo Company that has for the past 2 years has become (with plenty of time to kill) obsessed with a case of Auto Detailing OCD. LOL I have 2 orbital buffers, the Groits 6' and their mini. All my cars are in pretty good shape as far as the paint finish goes. I would have loved to buy the SK mini, but couldn't wait and got the Groits mini last November. I also try to buy American made products, but do find it really hard to go that route with what's on the market these days.
  11. It's a middle age thing Rich! OK, almost an old man thing. Sometimer's Disease.
  12. Joel, I think the scratches were from road "chit" or a bush that scrapped the fender while pulling out of a driveway. Anyway, the scratches were just deep enough for me to think I might need a major fix. (fingernail test) After 2 passes with Adams Heavy Correcting Polish with the Micro Fiber Pad then the Foam Pad, they started to diminish. So I kept on going and got the final result you see in the pics. It took a while!
  13. Thanks.....The scratches were just a little on the deep side, but Adam's Polishing came thru. Took a little while.
  14. Geebee's body shop is now in business! LOL my wifes car had some pretty bad scratches that we didn't notice when we got the car. To satisfy my Auto Detailing case of OCD, I wen to work. OK, so a small pat on the back from me to me....LOL All the scratches came out thank goodness. Adams Yellow Micro Fiber Pad Adams Yellow Correcting Pad Mix 50/50 Adam's Heavy Correcting Polish
  15. Geeze! I wish I thought of that. I really need a spray version of the Leather Conditioner. Went and bought a bottle of Meguiar's G18616 Gold Class Leather Conditioner. I'll cancel the order with Amazon and try this route.
  16. Scott, Yea, but except for the swirling in a couple of areas, the paint is fine. I did read on one of the forum listings where some guy burned thru the clear coat with the Heavy Correcting Polish. Even though I'm pretty cautious about using my orbital, I just thought a mix might work better in case I screwed up. So, I thought I'd try the mix. MB does have on all their vehicles, an excellent paint.
  17. I just got a black 2014 Mercedes Benz E350 convertible. When the dealer washed the car, man oh man, you talk about swirls. They might have been there from before, but from the bad lighting I didn’t see them. OK, now I go to work and break out my orbital polisher and Adam’s Correcting Polish. After 3 attempts, the swirls were still there but not as noticeable. OK….idea…..Instead of going over the same area 2 or 3 more times, how about I mix Adam’s Heavy Correcting Polish (blue) and Correcting Polish (yellow) on the pad to cut down the work load? So I took small equal amounts of each on the Yellow Correcting pad and away I went. PERFECT! One try and now the swirls are 99.9% gone. Saved me a lot of work that’s for sure. OK Adam….you need a Medium Correcting Polish (something in between your Yellow Correcting and Blue Heavy Correcting Polish) Just a wild idea, but it worked for me.
  18. What pad do you use when you use Revive. I've been using the Blue pad that's made for Revive, but I haven't had the results all of the above people mention. My black paint is in good shape except for some really minor swirling. Didn't seem to help on that one.
  19. Joe, Yes, I did get a chance to use the Patriot Wax and it seems to do a better job of shinning than the regular Adam's wax. I'm not real happy with the Patriot Wax pricing, so I'll have to wait for another sale in order to get some.
  20. Don, I like mine too. Using the ******* with the Adam's 4' pads.
