    Thank you for the advice!

I started brushing off the face plate with a dry detailing brush.  A lot of the big dirt came off, I was surprised.  For some reason, I looked at a picture of the original face plate and noticed a difference.  The new face plate doesn't have the buttons for heated seats.

No big deal.  I was more after the screen for the radio.  Got that in and it worked!  And I didn't have any extra parts!!!

Treat it like a normal interior part of the dash, granted one that's pretty dirty. I'd use either Total Interior Cleaner or All Purpose Interior Cleaning Gel and tools like the cockpit brush, Interior Detailing Brush, and an Edgeless Utility towel. The TIC will also clean the screen if that's what you choose, the Gel will not. If there's embedded dirt between the buttons or those steps aren't quite getting the job done, which I think they will, a steamer could also be a good option, just keep it moving and wipe away the dirt. When done, dress the faceplate to match the rest of the interior.

Let us know how it goes and post some pictures when you're done 🙂

I'm impressed that questions like this can be asked and answered maturely without some smartass answers.  To both you guys, my best to both of you for being great dads and letting your boys do things again.  That takes a leap of faith and confidence in your kids.
My boy had a brain tumor at 11, 5 neurosurgeries, four shuts.  And we were told he would never be independent or work or drive.  He's 42 now, been living independently for 12 years, and drives across state daily.  You two guys got it down in the way you're handling it.  My hat's off to you both.

Yes it is a great forum!  I truly appreciate it!

Thank you @tlbullet!!!  Coaches approved as long as they are soft.  After I brought it up, he doesn't want to wear one.  I think part of the reason why is he doesn't want to look different than the other kids.  It's a long season.  I will keep you updated.

Thank you again for feedback and information!

@vollychief my son was diagnosed with an ASD (small hole) in his heart a few years ago.  Thankfully there was a fix and after Successful open heart surgery (shout out to the great Dr at NY Presbyterian!!)  repaired the hole.  After a few months he was cleared to play ANY sport.
For the past few years he has worn a chest guard for baseball and basketball. Below are the two options.  He usually wears the Evoshield for baseball and opts for the softer type one for basketball.
The Evoshield is harder and gets custom fit to the chest.  Id opt for that, bc if u take and elbow to the chest it would def disperse the pressure.

Well, that happened fast.  We went in to the dealership with the Pacifica and left with an Explorer.

The Explorer will need some love.  There are some scuffs & scratches, but not bad.  Mostly around the trunk.  There is a good scratch in the inside trim by the trunk.

I figured the Dealership wouldn't look at it too close, but figured cleaning it up some inside and out would make it look like I took care of it.  We did, but lack of time recently things have gotten away.

She doesn't know about the Pumpkin Spice.  Not yet anyway.

But, I will be a freakin' hero if I remember to get the odor neutralizer to use in the boys' shoes.  And maybe the oldest's room.

Thank you for the replies!  It looks like I need to place an order soon.  Hopefully the shipping time will give me enough time to figure out how to explain to my wife why I'm using car detailing products on computers.  Although we are getting to the point in our marriage she doesn't ask as much.  Just looks, shakes her head and moves on.  🤷‍♂️

GooGone is a go-to for me for adhesives.
Follow that with APC to get rid of the GooGone residue and rest of the grime. Then you could do ID, or DS.

I get laptops and computers that I recondition and donate to students in need.  I've found a little WD-40 followed by Waterless Wash and Interior Detail spray will make it look like new and smell good.  The GooGone tends to be a little harsh on many of the laptop boxes and APC will leave some residue that takes a bit more work with WW to get evened out.

For the sticky spaces, just put some WD-40 on a cheap cloth and then rub the area.  You shouldn't need much force, but you may need to do it two or three times according to thickness of the sticky stuff and roughness of the case.  Packing tape used to cover a business card, especially gorilla tape that has been on there for a few years is usually the worst to get off.  Don't be afraid to use a plastic razor blade with WD-40 or WW as the lube if you find something really stuck on there.

Once the sticky stuff is gone, I do the entire case and keyboard with Waterless Wash and using a Waterless Wash towel, always spraying WW on the towel and then wipe the area.  The screen gets two cleanings, first with Glass Cleaner spraying the towel and wiping the screen and then with Brilliant Glaze.   Finally, I go over the entire case and keyboard with Interior Detailer, spraying the towel and wiping it down.   The interior brush works good for getting between the keys and if you don't have one of them, a real soft 1/2 inch paint brush works.

The most difficult place is where the screen closes and for that I use Interior Detailing Swabs as they tend to fit in there perfect - I wish I had of found them 10 years ago just for this purpose.

Since I am a Mac person, the cleaning technique for a Mac is a bit easier with the standard, slick case.  Pre-2017 with the illuminated Apple on the back, all I ever needed was Interior Detailer and then GC and BG on the screen.  2017 and newer Mac's react better to WW for the body and then the screen still does good with GC and BG.

On some Pre-Retina Display Macs where you see the keyboard marks on the screen, they will clean up with GC, but you also have to clean the keys.  The marks aren't indents, they are the dirt and oils from your fingers that are sticking to the screen.

Following these steps, the systems come out looking new, minus any real abuse, and there is no residue left over that is sticky.   For those who dilute Rinseless Wash to make your WW - I cannot confirm whether or not that works the same, since I have never tried it.

I acquired 7 Panasonic Toughbooks for my fire department.  The Toughbooks are pretty dirty.  Some is dirt in general, some is scotch tape and other adhesives.  Any suggestions on what products to use to clean the Toughbooks up?  Especially to remove the adhesive.

Not today, but last night my family and I watched on Facebook Live our high school boys basketball team win their first ever class 1A (real small schools) super-sectional game to go on to play in the final 4 state tournament!  I was a freakin nervous wreck and don't have any family on the team.  We were behind by 3 and a last second 3 pointer sent the game into overtime.

That sounds exciting! I was fortunate enough to win 2 sectional titles in high school. The next round is regionals for us but we didn't make it past that. One year, we got beat by Yogi Ferrel's high school team if you've ever heard of him. My brother won sectionals last year during his senior year. It was so exciting to watch but it was also nerve-racking
