The Microfiber pad will definitely bump up the aggressiveness of the polish. I tested the orange pad and Correcting polish on 3000 grit sand marks and it was taking forever. Same polish on a Microfiber pad and it took the sanding marks out pretty quick and finished down almost perfect. Those two combined kind of equal out to a less aggressive method than a heavy compound and MF pad. Yet still aggressive enough to take out scratches and such.

It was an older beer ad campaign where they used born in date in the cans so you knew your crappy beer was at least fresh. Don't remember the label.

Traded in daughter's 2014 Mazda CX-5 for the 2017 blue Tucson in the pic.  Already had the 2016 one in the pic for other daughter.  The CX-5 was a great car but that year was the beginning of Mazda's collision avoidance tech and it was not as robust as current tech.  And Mazda is dragging their feet on Car Play and the 2016 Tucson had all the bells and whistles and safety we wanted so we just went that direction again since we were so content with the other one.

I recently picked up an new Equinox that will live outside, so I decided to try the coating. I went through all the steps you did and then hit the coating. It is REALLY easy to work with. The trim coating is unbelievable!

Today, my neighbor was out washing his truck as I was washing the Equinox, we finished at the same time and he came over to ask about the coating, he thought it looked that great. We talked for about the coating for about 10 minutes. I should mention that it was raining by this point, but neither of us cared, our cars needed washed!

Try the coatings, you won't be disappointed.

I lean towards coatings also but there's something to be said for spending some time doing all these steps! Today I did pretty much the same thing to a family members car, cooked some ribs and chicken on the smoker and even caught a few bass! It sure was/is a great day. Nice video

I definitely think coatings are the way to go and they are not hard to apply.

I know i need to get up to speed on ceramic coatings so hopefully the discussion here will show me that is my next learning curve after sealants.

I dove into coatings and they are not as bad to deal with as some make them out to be. I guess some coating are difficult but. I was careful and followed the directions and had zero issues.

No need to wait! Paint from the factory is baked on. When it comes back from a body shop that repainted I'd wait 90 days.

So  about a year ago my car was hit, thank God no one was seriously injured but my car needed both rear quarter panels repainted. (One was from the accident, the other had scratched and I thought the guy would be able to get it out...)
So they repainted the car's quarter panels and when I went to pick up the car it was wet, but the car looked great. After it dried I realized they didn't do a great job. Instead the paint looked like it was blurry.
Needless to say I was disappointed. So today I decided to try and get it with a polisher. And by the grace of God, it worked....ONE YEAR OF horrible paint. ONE YEAR of pointless detailing to have 2 ugly quarter panels...and after that BAM  hit it with Heavy Correcting Compound and done. I might have to hit it with some 2000 grit just in case but that's the plan. Here are some pictures.

IF you look at the light in the later pictures. You'll see how the paint was and how it is now.
