  1. Hey Dan, Since your finished decorating the tree you can come help me finish all mine here. I have the first one done now on to the next.
  2. I know who you are talking about I meet him at a diesel truck event I attended. I will remember that and stop by the show (next year). I have been exploring Downtown Bristol more since my office is now in Bristol.
  3. Dan, A GREAT looking garage for the vehicles. I did not know that Adams had a booth at Bill Gatton during the Corvette show, been easy to get some products to use.
  4. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. I have many things to be thankful for and feel blessed. On side note very thankful I still have a job (from when I started to now you can say 55% of the employees have been sent home). The department that I am over has been cut 60%.
  5. Hey Chas, Carrier does make a top notch product. If the whole system is 20 years old put in the back of your mind to update the system in a couple of years. When my neighbor replaced his system which was around 28 years (the amps the compressor was using went half). I tell people to go with Performance Series and get the highest rated single stage compressor model. Why that is single stage compressor is half the price of two stage compressor (when I put my system in five years ago). The only thing I could think of the 90 Amp is that he is adding up the whole usage for the indoor unit. Just looking at your pic it appears that your indoor unit (is electrical not gas or oil). Look at your electrical panel if it is well labeled (see if any is labeled). How many breakers do you have for the system? The system that I have has two double pole just for the indoor unit (one for the unit and the other for the electrical heat - used during defrost or you turn your thermostat to Aux or Emergency depending on the type of thermostat that you have). If you have one double pole breaker for the indoor unit and that is a smaller amp that is your problem when the electrical heat comes on when called for). The electrical heat inside the inside unit is what will take the most amps because it does not take many amps to just run the fan. My Carrier System 60 Amp (Indoor Unit) 30 Amp (Indoor Unit) 40 Amp (Outdoor Unit) I hope I made sense with this long post I could go into more details if needed.
  6. It looks Great. Metal Polish does wonders. I even use it on my watch and it keeps it look just like I purchased (have worn the watch for 16 years).
  7. Dan, Just look at whole household auto transfer (what I am looking at now to do for my parents). If you really do not have alot of power outages what you said will work fine. Few years ago Honda had the quietest one on the market. Currently mine is a Troy Built (flip the main breaker, roll out the unit, hookup the cables and I am back). This one carries two side by side refrigerator freezers, two deep freezers, lights, satellite receiver, and tvs. One suggestion is to have the electrician put plug so you do not have to run those cords under garage doors to get to your panel. Have to say my area is lucky that we do not have alot of storms and power outages.
  8. Dan noticed the radiator do your in laws use this type? If power is off some during the winter it would be easy to wire in a generator to run the system.
  9. Sounds like you and your family came thru the storm safely. Windstorms and Hail are what gets most roofs (ask any roofer). I have been thinking about a whole house generator here lately due to all this EPA wanting to stop power generation with coal over the next couple of years. I talked to the local propane company and was satisfied with the price they quoted me for turn key job.
  10. My garage we used Sherwin Williams SuperPaint (you will spend more than others for this but you would not believe how great it has been). It has been 8 years and you would think we just painted it yesterday. Chas just a word to the wise you do not want your garage walls too white (will show very single spot you can believe). When we repainted (father and myself) the color has a slight touch of brown in it and it complements the exterior brick color of the house.
  11. Great hobby you guys have. I had one RC back in my teenage years but have been debating on getting back into it to help as stress relief.
  12. Thomas, Welcome Adams Forums. The tires I run on my daily driver (Toyo Open Country ATII) a great all tire. I never had tire blooming until the first time that I used Deep Wheel Cleaner. My tires were solid brown. I washed it with APC and applied SVRT (twice). Now my tires are back to solid black.
  13. First look at what your budget can afford and buy the best that you can afford. What I hear MetroVacs are great. I had one where I worked before to clean computer equipment. I personally use the central cleaning system that is in my house. The unit has twin motors and the exhaust goes directly to the outside (which allows me to not have any dust from the machine indoors). The unit is located in my basement and I do not hear it in my garage when it runs.
  14. It is time to bring the products to a warmer place. We had two cool nights already and I made sure mine got to the basement which stays around 60 F year round. Insulated garage doors does help. I went from solid wood with glass to solid fiberglass insulated ones (without glass) and can tell a difference. The company says their Polyurethane foamed-in-place insulation is rated a 11 R to 14.8 R.
  15. I agree with Kingsford....Your best things to do is do a full treatment right before the temperatures start dropping for the winter and wait until spring then do another full treatment after all the winter weather. That is what I do and it seems to work well only thing in winter is a normal wash. One time it was almost a month before we got past 35 outside. I drove on snow for almost two weeks going to and from work.
  16. They help out on lots of projects around the house besides pots and pans in the kitchen. Feets31 do not remind me of those days you will start telling our age.
  17. Well all I will say is that UPS does better job in my community and the community where I work than FedEx. FedEx will press they have a deliver for the office (receiver will acknowledge and tell them the door will open) and then leave before the receiver can get to the door. One day I was waiting on a package from FedEx. I received the email that they could not deliver due to no one was present to sign. I called FedEx and said the building has over 200 people and no one was present. The person on the phone said no one was around. I said my phone number was on the package label also. Kept saying it will be delivered tomorrow. I said poor customer service. Then we ended the call but then 15 minutes later a supervisor called me said we will redeliver sometime this afternoon. FedEx left package at my home one day (small package). When I arrived home the package was not next to the front door or garage door. After looking for couple minutes I called talked to a representative they said front door. I said nothing here and someone was present at that time and the driver did not even use the doorbell or knock. After the call ended I searched more and finally found the package between the storm door and door on the back door of the house. The driver had to go completely around the house to do that. (Have to say about everytime I use FedEx they do that). I have even watch couple times they do not knock or ring the door bell.
  18. I use Adams Swirl and Haze Remover on mine and it cleans mine up.
  19. I agree you wanted the wired setup for it. I believe in wired (even my internet is wired in my house no wifi.
  20. Very Nice....You done well.
  21. They already knew that you were crazy....You just confirmed it even more. Hey guys maybe we should also grade the yard how well someone can mow with a headlamp after 7 in the evenings. I have done that in the summer months if I am about to finish the lawn work.
  22. Yes, most newer cars are doing this and also they do this to help keep the seals from leaking in the compressor. I just set the climate control and have never had a fogging issue in my suv or truck. I have been using the Adams Glass Cleaner for couple years and have not had any fogging inside since I started using it.
  23. DieselDude
