So, I did a 2 stage paint correction and full detail on my Alltrack. It was a TON of work, but I am really happy with how it turned out. It looked great right after using the finishing polish. Then, I sealed the paint and let it cure. But it really took on a crazy shine after the brilliant glaze and a coat of Americana.
Process used: strip wash, iron remover, clay, correcting polish, then finishing polish, paint sealant, brilliant glaze and a coat of Americana.
Adams products used: strip wash, two buckets, new wash mitt, hose sprayer, iron remover, shampoo, tire and wheel brushes,
Drying towel, detail spray, 15mm swirl killer, 5 orange pads, 4 white pads, correcting and finishing polish. VRT, tire shine, glaze, Americana and a boatload of microfiber towels.

I read a lot of advice on here before I started, and just wanted to say thanks.

I detailed a '99 Acura RL this weekend.  The client originally wanted a wash & seal, with headlight correction, but ended up requesting a correction too.  I tried to discourage him from that, as he does not have a garage, and I am not sure he will maintain the finish to 'our' standards, but he wanted it anyway.  For the most part the car was in very good condition, but the before&after of the gas door is below.  I was too busy trying to beat the sun to get more pictures, but the 50/50 views of the 1/2 corrected trunk were stunning.  However I was about an hour+ into the correction when I looked at the trunk again (I was working outside, so got a different angle from the sun) and did not like how the corrected part looked.  I tried a more aggressive foam pad, but ended up having to use a MF pad and Correcting Polish.  I stared redoing from the belt-line up and was able to work the CP down and avoid a finishing step, but unfortunately the sun won, and I have to go back later this week to sand the headlights, dress the trim & tires, and hit a few spots on the interior again.

Washed the YZ450F today!  Getting it ready to sell, time for someone else to enjoy her!  It’s a 2006 50th Anniversary Addition with less than 25 hours on her.

Used the Standard Foam Gun with CS (she wasn’t real dirty). Also used EWC, EAP, Sidekick and  DS.  I always spray WD-40 on the motor, frame, etc at the end as well. Keeps it all looking great and protected. My son loves using the Sidekick to dry everything. It works great on motorcycles!

Thats awesome Tyler! Is this for a personal detailing company run by you? I like the colors!

  6. Welcome to the forum! There are tons of great products that you will have to try. Beware the addiction will get you and you will not even realize it. you will buy one thing and 2 hours later decide that you need to try another product. Save some money though for black friday because its gonna be a good one!!! ( BTW you should check out all the pumpkin spice products if you like that scent! Smells great to me. i love it. But that would be a nice way to test Pumpkin spice and the different foms it comes in! i.e Detail spray, interior detailer, odor neutralizer, and H20 Guard and gloss!! Glad to have you here though! :)

Yes, you read the title correctly. Don't believe me? Read on...

About a week ago, my (admittedly outdated LG G3) phone died on me. Out of nowhere, the screen went blue and the phone shut down. It wouldn't turn on, wouldn't take a charge. Nothing. It was D-E-D, dead!

While I forgot to get a picture of my phone, here's what it looked like:

    Screenshot_2018-02-12-21-22-16.thumb.png.1b27cb2164e55c3f1be8f5924243c365.png

    So now what???

Dr. Google to the rescue! After a little research, I found this is fairly common with G3's. I came across multiple articles and videos describing how people applied heat to the motherboard as a fix action. Hair dryers, heat guns, and ovens, too. I thought no way that could work, but I'm not an electrical engineer. But the phone is essentially a brick, so what do I have to lose? Well, besides all the data I hadn't backed up in a little while.

    Anyway, off to the kitchen!

Phone disassembled, motherboard laid gently on the cookie sheet. *No cooking spray applied.

Oven temp set at 350' (later reduced to 325', basically out of fear :o), and timer set for 10 VERRRRYYYYYY LOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGGG minutes.

    25674.thumb.jpeg.1c8505fe9184d2450f4004eaebeb280b.jpeg

    A watched motherboard never broils...

Dinner's ready!!! It didn't really brown, that's just the lighting. I think.

    25676.jpeg.214d6e47e9a96d1e68094b8bc4e62861.jpeg

    Soooooo, did it work?

    Phone reassembled...press power button........wait.........no blue screen.......wait..........Verizon startup screen!......wait.........

YES!!! I am back up and running, and - knock on wood - have been ever since. And there's even a little Adam's reflection on the home screen for your viewing pleasure.

I must admit I really thought I was being punked. But I'm not surprised at all to know there are plenty of smarter people than me out there. When in doubt, phone a friend!

P.S. Hat tip to @Norton who doesn't believe I'll get a new phone anytime soon. He's probably right.

I wonder what the first person was thinking when their phone was being weird like yours. My last thought would be to put it in the oven...?

Heard some rumblings once about Adams bringing a micro polisher to market, using 1” or 2” pads.

Does anyone have insight to this?

(And if it’s just rumour, please consider this a suggestion)

If pricing can be kept inline with the rest of the SK products, you’d have a world beater!

Possibly could be part of a big Black Friday drop with all the buzz going around. Wish I could confirm or deny!!

  9. So @DriverDave decided to let me take some pictures of his incredible 2018 SRT and boy did we have fun. the shots we got were awesome.  These are what I have edited so far, I will add more as I edit. I really wish we had a way to differentiate this beyond just "professional" and "amateur" because it's not acceptable to put people who do work like the OP in the same category as people who do work like this...

That absolute catastrophe came out of the detail shop at the dealership where I traded my F150 for my 4Runner.  They didn't clean the face of the wheel the whole way, they didn't even touch the barrel, and there's as much disgusting tire grease on the wheel as there is on the tire.  I'm sure every amateur that posts here could do a better job and not spend a minute more doing it.

Man, that’s bad. I get that it’s difficult sometimes to really clean the barrels without taking the wheels off. But that’s a horrible job and they didn’t even take a brush to the inside of the barrels and work around the spokes.

I would hope that’s a one off experience. Things happen and slip through the cracks. We’ve had it happen; but we always make it right. Hopefully they took care of it and it’s not a matter of practice.

I wishi could say its a one off, I worked at Land Rover Denver this past summer. It was cool in the way that you get to drive nice expensive cars around but the people i worked with would produce work exactly like this. I was a Lot tech and basically i would clean cars as the sales people would sell them, vacuum , windows, scrub the car with giant brushes that sit on the floor... cringe. And apply tire shine. The two guys I worked with were 25, and 23.making barley $13.00 an hour. didn't go to college. The 23 year old had a 5 year old daughter. yikes. they would basically say if you cant see it its not my problem. They would spray tire shine all over the wheels and it would drip down the wheels and fly on the paint when they drove out of the shop. the most cleaning wheels would get would be with a power washer and if it didn't come off with he power washer with one or two passes, it wouldn't matter. I dont like the way dealerships clean cars. PTSD Car washes are real:eek:

Yes unfortunately have gotten so far behind in collecting and just wont have the space in the new home so figured sell them and use the money these bottles make and buy a new Rupes polisher with it. Also this bottle though has been the one people online are asking a lot of questions about and just don't want to sell or even give someone a produced that might have gone bad. As for selling I would be willing to would and would be much happier knowing there going to another really big Adams fan. @ObsessedDetailer

I would definitely rather buy here than on eBay!! I just don’t want to pay an outrageous price

The title should be pretty straight forward. Can you? Should you? Besides the always electrical concerns if you do what else should you be watching for?

    thx, Jordan

I don’t see why you couldn’t,  you might have better results using TRC, or APC. But I don’t see that there would be a problem as long as you covered any intakes and exposed electrical components

Haha, thanks!  I usually switch it up every couple of years, but so far the 5.0 is the only thing I've ever regretted getting rid of.  Now the plan is to keep this 4Runner until the wheels fall off, and keep the wife's Traverse chugging along so I can pick up a 2013-2014 GT500 in a few years once the new ones drive down the resale values :jester:

    Oh that’s awesome!!!
