Don't sweat it. There are no set in stone rules. Find what works best for your results, and your budget, and time constraints.  You don't HAVE to do it the way everyone else does .  We offer suggestions and recommendations for getting the BEST results, but even I don't follow every step.

Yeah, not sweating it. Only did this because I already planned doing the paint correction in the near future so the paint is going to be absolutely bare the next go around. Just gotta wait to get this GTR out of my garage so I have more room to polish my evo.

On this go around i felt like bg before ps would be my best bet on making it look as great as it can be until i do the paint correction and I'm completely satisfied with the results.

Cars look great! Maybe I am misinterpreting but PS needs to go down first to bare paint then glaze. I hope that is what you did? PS won't last near as long if not.

Many other people have done it, and I wanted to try it as well. It's only paint sealant and not ceramic coating. Adam's video also says it's ok to do. I know it wont last as long but I'm supplementing it with the h20 guatd and gloss. I also plan to do paint correction next month and if I have enough money ill get the ceramic coating kit to protect it. If not I'll do paint sealant on bare paint at that time.

Reason why I did BG before PS is I have some minor swirling I was trying to fill in. This isnt a long term solution and people have already chimed in that it will last long enough until I do the paint correction.

    Looks great!

P.S More photos of the GT-R please!

    What GT-R ???

    Lol, just kidding.

It's in the process of being turbo swapped, electronics updated, upgrade fuel system and ecu upgrade.

Really wish it was mine but unfortunately not.

It's my buddy and I'm lending him a garage spot while he gets it done.

Told ya! ? Nothing else needed on top, really. It should last you a good month or so. If you really wanted, BG would add even more pop, but I love just the HGG on white. Yours looks great!!

I really love how it looks right now. Dont think I'll need to add BG unless I go to a show or something. And thanks for advising me to get this H20 guard and gloss. I love it

  4.  It's been around 2 weeks since I applied brilliant glaze and paint sealant on top of it. First wash since then, I've driven it through rain and 2 dirt roads. It's been raining every other day, so no chance to wash it. It cleared up today enough to wash it, and dry it. I was pretty impressed with the shine from BG and PS.l and didnt expect it could get much better than that.

Well, long story short I pulled it in to the garage after the wash and dry and applied h20 guard and gloss and I'm blown away once again.

It made the paint glossier than I could imagine and made the black trim darker. The car looks better than brand new.

What can I or should I put on top of the h20 guard and gloss?

Next time you are at Adam's pick up the 32 oz dilution bottle, and put the sprayer on your H2O G&G bottle (or pick up a Tolco sprayer).  This sprayer atomizes the G&G much better than the regular spray head, and allows for more even coverage.

Probably wont be for awhile till I go to Denver again.

Was only there to drop off and pick up my wife from the airport. Denver is an hour away so would be a waste just to go to Adam's polishes to save a little bit of money as I'd spend more in fuel.  But think I'm gonna go next month to pick up the swirl killer. Maybe I'll just hold off on the sprayer bottle till I go for the swirl killer.?

Think I could probably get a really good deal on everything in person. Got about 15 bucks off over what's on the website plus whatever shipping would be on just the detail spray and guard and gloss.

NIIICCCEEEE! Think it's shiny now? Just wait till you use the HGG. Such a great product...and awesome on white.

Based on eBay prices, may want to hold on to that 4th of July DS for a while! ?

That's why I bought another one. I used alot of my first bottle on the claybar and wish I hadn't. but I was in Denver so I thought why not just buy another bottle. They have about 9 more on the shelf. And If i remember correctly, I should only use the guard and gloss only every couple of weeks right? And from reading the bottle. It looks like a little goes a long way.

This is probably my favorite combo for a metallic car Brilliant Glaze with Paint Sealant.  On non-metallic car, just regular Paint Sealant.

Well, I ended up getting another applicator, washed, clayed, washed again, brilliant glazed, and then paint sealant. Very pleased with the results. I know it's not as good as if I polished the car, but I'll do that when I get a swirl killer. Its shining better than it was, and it already looked good before, but now it feels like glass.

  8. 2 hours ago, falcaineer said:

No need to hold off, I don't think. Unless you're set on BG first. I'll echo the general rule is most durable first, then layer over that. But it's your car. Either way, this is yet another sign of the addiction setting in! Happy ordering!

I really only want to use the BG first is for the filling properties, just to hold me off till I can buy a swirl killer to polish the paint.

Hmm. I wouldn't recommend the cheap ones, and the edgeless might absorb too much to be effective. Same with the great white, not to mention it's a bigger towel. Do you have Eco APC to clean the applicator before BG?

I dont. Seems like I'm in a bind lol. Well, might have to hold off on the process till I can order some more applicators. I messed up on that one and didnt even think of it.

The "black" applicator is actually the grey MF applicator, and they work great for PS and BG both. Get them if you can; and if you have a polisher, the grey pad is color coded for the PS. If you only have one applicator, I'd recommend you use it for the PS as even coverage is more important with that than the BG. Towels might work ok with the BG, but I've never tried. What kind(s) do you have?

Have some microfibers from the oriellys part store. i know not the greatest but I'm slowly trying to convert to higher quality better stuff. I also have the edgeless microfibers and a great white drying towel which I got in my mystery bucket.

Too cool, Elias. Bet you're wishing you only had $7 cash ?. I know Emery works behind the glass, and he's known to be super helpful, so maybe it was him. But either way, Adam has an awesome staff all around... Happy to hear they took good care of you!

Yes, they are very helpful at the showroom. Was beyond impressed and above any of my expectations. Looks like Adam's is going to be a  permanent stop when I visit Denver.

Now a question, so I didnt realize this until I got home and I should have known better, but do i absolutely need an applicator to apply the BG or PS because i only left with one. I can order another one from the site, but was wondering if it would be alright if I applied it with a microfiber towel since I completely forgot  I needed 2 applicators. Also the paint sealant says to use a black applicator but cant find it anywhere on the site. The only black applicator I could find was the one for tires and dont think it would work for paint.

  12. Ok guys, so just finished dropping my wife off at DIA and dropped by Adam's Polishes showroom. I am super impressed by their enthusiasm, helpfullness and customer support. I walked in and the guy behind the glass office walked out and greeted me, not sure who he was but I'm guessing someone higher up, then he he went out of his way and went to the back to make sure someone was there to help me. He greeted me, asked what I needed help with and i just told him I was looking to get some BG and some PS, he said no problem and even threw in a free red hex applicator, and then I noticed that they had some USA Limited edition spray on the shelf and asked him how much it was, he told me he could sell it to me for 10 bucks.

So he totaled it to 50 bucks, not sure if that's just from the top of his head or just a round number to help me out but seemed like a great deal already as it was saving me money and shipping. So I tell him I'm going to pay 37 in cash and the rest on the card, and when I hand him the 37 he told me I was good to go and not to worry about the rest. I am absolutely floored and blown away. I'm I'm going to be an Adam's customer for life on the service alone. So friendly, and the store front guy seemed like he wanted to be there and was happy. It's something I've never experienced.

Yea absolutely, that will work,  I love PS because it reminds me of the beach/sun lotion however,  GnG and CB would probably be the quickest and easiest re-ups.  Both providing at least 2 months of protection

Alright, so if I have this right, brilliant glaze,  paint sealant, and reup with h20 guard and gloss, and claybar. Then every 6ish months do a new layer of brilliant glaze topped off with paint sealant. Sounds like a killer plan, thank you

Edit:of course claybar before the first brilliant glaze and paint sealant I'm guessing.

Thanks,  I do paint sealant before winter, and again after winter. So just twice a year.

    my in betweens consist of-

    Brilliant Glaze

    Buttery

    Americana

    GnG

    Ceramic Boost

and Detail Spray(which does have wax)

in no particular order, its just whenever, for fun/therapy

    Sounds awesome lol

I'm guessing I would be fine with just using the BG and Paint sealant from the sounds of it and just layering it as much as I want with BG like every week or so and every so often with the paint sealant for the paint protection. Or maybe the ceramic boost would be nice on top of the paint sealant, havent really even thought of that. Thanks for the tips and advice. I'm loving this community already and glad I chose Adam's polishes for the community alone.

Brilliant glaze does fill minor imperfections and it does so very well.

It also adds a ton of shine and doesn’t build up.  I use it often for some extra pop, takes only a few minutes.

Did it today in  90° heat on a hot truck.  No issues.  Pic below

For your other question about longevity of PS afterwards,  hard to say, because i re-up my protection often

That looks great Nick, do you use paint sealant on top of that? If all I have to do Is reup protection with the paint sealant I'm fine with that. How often do you do so. Thank you

Adam says there is not issue with applying Brilliant Glaze, wiping off, then (no wait time) applying Paint Sealant, and I have done it some myself.  But there is the school of thought that the Paint Sealant (most sealants and ALL coatings) works best on 'bare paint', so having BG on first would not allow PS to bond as well as possible with the paint.

Don't pass up picking up the Brilliant Glaze though, it works well for other things too -  on interior glass to reduce fogging, blinging out chrome and glass, cleaning matte vinyl stripes, and more!

When you did it yourself, how long did the PS last and did you still get any filling properties from the BG? Also what's considered minor imperfections? Does that mean very unsociable swirls that can only be seen in certain light, because that's what I have right now.

I plan on doing a paint correction when I can spare the extra money on a DA polisher and product but want something to make the paint look as nice as possible In the meantime if that's understandable.

Edit:or if you or anybody have any other suggestions I'd be welcome to hear it as well. Thank you very much

  17. For people who have used both as a combo. I plan on picking both of these up tomorrow while I'm in Denver tomorrow. I want to know about the brilliant glaze, the product description says fills minor imperfections, what is considered minor and also, when stacking paint sealant on top of the brilliant glaze do I have to wait a certain period of time to do so or can i do it immediately? My other question is when layering the product, will I still get the "filling" properties from the BG or will it be effected to any degree by the PS? Thank you in adance.

Edit: I'm new here so I'm not sure if this is in the correct section, I also tried the search feature and came up empty so sorry if this has been asked and answered already. thank you.

You got it! Sorry about that. Oz gave a good tip, and acronyms are also posted here.

For the order, PS first (should last at least 6 months on a daily), then use HGG every 3-4 washes to maintain. I personally don't use wax on my white car as the HGG lasts at least a month and offers outstanding shine and protection. But if you want to use it, no harm...just might not be necessary. Recommend you read the article I gave above as it also talks about layering. Then, try the options and see what you think. But the paint sealant, if used, should be first since it bonds best to bare paint (some use BG just before PS, but I don't).

Post some pics when you have it all Adamized!

Would you think it would give better results if I used brilliant glaze before the paint sealant? Would it help hide very minor defects in the paint? Another question is would I have to wait for the glaze or paint sealant to setup before going to the next layer of product? Thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate it. I'm headed to Denver tomorrow to drop my wife off at the airport so I think I'm going to stop by Adam's and pick up what I need. Also thank you for the tips on care with a white car. The car already looks great but I want it to stand out even more.

    Welcome, Elias!

I also have a white car, and for it I'd recommend a PS and HGG combo. At least until you decide on coating. Wax will also add some protection, but it won't give quite the depth as on darker colored cars. Thus the reason I personally recommend the others. W&W works great on white, too.

Suggest you read this for more on the products and then decide what you want to try.

I wish I knew any of your acronyms lol. Can you help me out. I'm gonna give the faq a read though. Thank you.

Americana is supposed to be a little more longer lasting, while Patriot is more for show cars.  For the show cars I work on, I apply Brilliant Glaze and top that with Americana, and am always pleased with the results.  Hopefully others that have used both will chime in.

That sounds awesome. I didnt realize you could stack wax on top of the brilliant glaze. I was under the impression that the glaze was only for show cars when you needed that extra shine and pop, but wouldn't last long. That's good to know and glad I asked.
