Z71_Denali got a reaction from MAYBEN in Pool Time!
i've been slacking on documenting the build process here it goes:
hole dug, rebar and plumbing in place:
the spa is massive!
gunite sprayed:
my wife's favorite part
coping and tile going in:
close up of the coping cleaned up next to the tile:
stamped concrete is poured and the stone is on the spa:
we had our first visitor! 3'-4' bullsnake
the plaster going in! my favorite part. i didn't realize it was a blue plaster. its called Diamond Brite Ocean Blue
filling it up with a water hose. it should be full sometime today.
notice, i didn't let them touch my Adam's hose that's my old Gilmour that's been collecting dust. PB got good use of it the past month!
that's where we are at right now. all that is left is the pool equipment and electrical, then the final clean up and final anti-slip sealer for the deck! we should be swimming next weekend!

long story short.... my dogs road in my truck today and left a mess of hair all over the place!
leather is easy to clean up, but i always struggle getting all of it out of the black carpet.
any of you pros have an efficient way of cleaning pet hair out of carpet?

you just gave me an idea for my garage. since my new pool area is limited on space, i can stick a kegerator in the garage and run the tap through the wall into my backyard!

Z71_Denali got a reaction from thealien in Wife is Back in a Caddy!
After a couple weeks of searching for the right SUV we finally found THE one. we looked at and test drove a GL450, Acura MDX, Infiniti JX35 & QX56, Audi Q7, Acadia Denali, a new SRX, and several Escalades.
i think she was ultimately set on the Escalade, but i wanted her to look at all our options before pursuing further. it came down to space, amenities, maintenance/service locally, and cost of ownership.
we ended up driving to DFW yesterday, because used cars were slim pickins' in this town. the 2nd one we looked at there was the one we took home. it was the only one of 4 we've seen that with nearly flawless paint! no dings, no scratches, a few minor swirls that i can take care of. the interior is in great shape, only defect was a big scratch on the center console lid, and i already ordered a new replacement part for $250.
so its a 2011 Escalade AWD Premium, White Diamond Tricoat w/ cashmere interior, and 28k miles. auto folding running boards, rear DVD system, sunroof, loads of electronic features, and 2 sets of floor mats. the factory carpeted and a set of weathertech digital all weather mats. clean retail is $56k-$58k on multiple sites and we were out the door for $53k. i think it sat on their lot for awhile which is why it was so low. History report came back good; 1 owner, serviced at Sewell its whole life, and 1 minor accident described as a rear-end collision with only minor cosmetic damage. i checked both bumpers and i can't even tell either was replaced so the respray was well blended i guess. it still has the full warranty for 29 months or until it hits 50k miles, then the powertrain for 43 months or until it hits 100k miles.
i'm not ready to show the Adamized pics of it yet, full detail will have to wait 2 weeks (vacation coming up). i'll be treating it to a 2 bucket wash and DS wipedown this eveining. for now here's the advertised photos:

Z71_Denali got a reaction from JBlack151 in Bakflip F1 and Instrument Panel Clear Lens Care Questions
i have the Bakflip F1 on my truck.
i wash it everytime i wash my truck. just Adam's shampoo and wash mitt. to protect it, i use quick sealant. i also spray the hinges with In & Out spray, and the rubber trim along the edges get treated with SVRT.
i've had it for a year and a half and it still looks brand new

Z71_Denali got a reaction from 82Roadster in Best method to remove wax
since you plan on doing some touch up painting, don't strip the whole car until your ready to seal it.
with the panel your touching up clean, wipe down the areas where paint will go with Isopropyl Alcohol, do your touch up work, and let the paint cure for a few days. if your doing this on a weekend, the following weekend is good time to do a full strip wash like Roshan mentioned before laying down sealant.
