  1. Yep, no problem at all if they're stained as long as the foam is still good and you clean them properly, which it sounds like you're doing I have an orange foam pad that is basically red now from polishing on a single stage paint on a boat, and another orange pad that is part grayish-black from polishing a single stage gloss black enclosed race trailer, both are fine. And one of my white foam pads has a pink hue to it as of tonight, from having a little bit too much dried up detail spray clay lubricant on a white diamond Silverado that I'm detailing. It had very fine scratches in the hood that didn't even warrant using an orange pad with Paint Correcting Polish. I'm not worried about any of them as long as they keep working
  2. Do you have a garage to work in? My neighborhood is a constant state of wind all year long, so I can never really detail outside. I wash and dry vehicles outside and then move them right into the garage for the rest of the detail.
  3. Ah ok, that does make it tricky then. I didn't mean to intrude, so I hope I didn't offend you. The Cyclo does have near zero vibration, but I could see it or any other polisher getting heavy to use one-handed after a while on vertical areas, and as others mentioned you wouldn't be able to put as much pressure down onto the surface. Where are you located? There might be some forum members nearby that would help you out. If you were anywhere near me I would gladly help out free of charge. Another option could be to apply Revive Hand Polish by hand with a blue hex applicator. It won't correct all of the swirl marks and imperfections, but it does do a very nice job with a little elbow grease and you can apply it one-handed.
  4. I will have to say no, sorry. Paint correcting and polishing an entire car with a drill would be very time consuming, and I've also found that when I use my 4" focus pads with a drill on some tough scratches, it can leave fine micro-marring that I then have go back over with the Flex or Cyclo to get the finish back to perfect. I'm just curious, why do you say you can't use a Flex or Cyclo, cost or some other reason? A dual action random orbital polisher is much more forgiving and easier to use than a drill too - with a drill you are just getting a rotary motion with no oscillations, just like a rotary buffer, so you have to keep it moving around to not generate heat in one spot and do damage to the panel. I would imagine that a 6" plate on a drill would also be difficult to control. If you don't want to immediately jump into something like the Flex or the Cyclo, Adam's just brought back the Porter Cable 7424XP at a more friendly price point than the other two machines
  5. Can't wait to get my order on Tuesday! I picked up 3 of the Jumbo Blue Plush Microfiber towels and the Limited Edition Autism Speaks Rinse Bucket. I imagine I might put in another order before the end of the month too Big thanks to Dylan and the Adam's Team for doing such a wonderful thing here to help raise awareness about Autism.
  6. This is outstanding news Ray, very nice of you to offer a higher discount than before! I will be stocking up on some things for sure
  7. I don't want to speak for Adam, Dylan, etc, but Dave helps out with a lot of the planning for the Carlisle Events. This is the schedule of Carlisle Events that Adam's will be in attendance this year that he gave to me a while back since I will be helping out at a couple of the shows. Spring Carlisle - Yes Ford Nationals - No GM Nationals - Yes Chrysler Nationals - Yes Truck Nationals - No Corvettes at Carlisle - Yes Fall Carlisle - Yes
  8. Hilarious video and I can't wait to try out some HGG!
  9. Dylan beat me to my response, but I was also going to suggest Liquid Paint Sealant on white, silver, light gray and other light colors. It gives a fantastic look to my white diamond Regal GS as well as a few other white cars I've detailed for customers. Here's a quick shot of Liquid Paint Sealant, Brilliant Glaze, and Patriot Wax on my GS. I think the paint has some decent depth and great reflective properties as Dylan mentioned
  10. I usually don't let my microfiber towels get overly saturated with products, so my pre-soak is just spraying down trouble spots on towels with Microfiber Revitalizer in the 16oz bottle and agitate the spots with the towel itself or my fingers, then I give each side of the towel a few more sprays before I put them into the washing machine and add the recommended 1-2oz of Microfiber Revitalizer for the wash. If you want the ultimate cleaning method, here is Dave's post on cleaning microfiber towels http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/27663-question-about-using-microfiber-revitalizer/?p=435910
  11. Chonke, if you have already read through this thread, it has great information on dilution ratios for all of the applicable Adam's products, straight from the source: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/27546-pro-tip-dilution-ratios/ Hope that helps
  12. Welcome Johnny! I'm from Uniontown and I'll be at the Detail Clinic at Grabiak too.
  13. If you absolutely need to use it today and don't have time to wash, at least do a visual inspection of the towel prior to use and shake the towel to try to get any debris out of it. I usually only need one great white drying towel per vehicle, and I have 3 in my cabinet so that I can swap in a clean one each time I wash
  14. See, I knew someone would find it...I'm still in jet-lag-sleep-deprived-mode Thanks other Dan.
  15. I think I read either on here or somewhere on facebook or Instagram that they are low on stock and reevaluating if they want to keep offering it since some customers like to use just the white 7" foam pad for finishing. I can't find where I saw it now though, as it was around 4am this morning when I noticed it in a zombie-like state while getting ready to head to the airport
  16. Do you know if the wheel barrel and outer rim edge of the wheels are clearcoated or raw billet? If they aren't clearcoated, Metal Polish #1 followed up with Metal Polish #2 will really make them pop too!
  17. My work parking lot is very quickly hitting it's max occupancy. Yesterday was the first time in 10 years that I walked outside at lunch and there were cars parked on each side of mine...one very crooked with its' front end about 8" from my back wheels on the GS. I was not pleased, lol. I moved my car to a different space that was much wider since it's at the curved end of the lot...I've seriously parked in the same space for at least 4 years. I went in and talked to the facility manager. "So about the parking lot situation..." He immediately started chuckling and said I know I know, we're running out of spaces fast. Then I asked him what we're going to do with 7 new hires and 15 or so interns coming this summer. If they don't expand the current lot or put down a second one, I'll be parking 3/4 of a mile down the road in our tech park to a closed business with a completely empty lot and getting some extra exercise every day...or maybe it would be smarter to ask the state police next door if they could save me a space
  18. My attached 2-car is almost exactly 24'x24' with a garage door for each bay. I honestly would not want any smaller for a 2-car garage, because at this size, it leaves me enough room to fully open every door on both vehicles without hitting walls or the other vehicle. With my truck being just over 17 feet long and the GTO being just under 16 feet, it also leaves enough room for a work bench in front of the one stall and my old Sonoma seats in front of the other stall as a small seating area, while still having a few feet of work room behind each vehicle. My detached is 21' wide by 28' deep with one wide garage door. It can still fit two vehicles fairly easy, but entering and exiting the vehicles is a much tighter space. The four garage bays and the view from my backyard are the two main reasons I bought the house. The full energy star certification and other walls and junk were just nice bonuses I do wish they both had taller ceilings though...oh well.
  19. I should show this to a coworker that has the same exact black tC as this one and tell him to let me know when he wants me to make it look like your results. Outstanding job man!
  20. Thanks bud, that means a lot and it's great appreciated. I love this somewhat rare car...I always seem to buy the oddball vehicles from GM To borrow a line from Big Trouble in Little China..."It wasn't easy!" Thanks, no problem! You guys are too nice! Thanks! Great products too! Thanks, yours looks awesome too! Love the Crystal Red tintcoat I'm going to try to tackle the carbon buildup on the exhaust ports on mine as soon as the weather gets a little bit warmer. I'll post up a thread if I'm successful.
  21. A lot of friends call me DT and it's just stuck over the years, and I figure there's going to be a lot of threads popping up about these two new products, so I wanted to make a kinda silly thread title for it to stick out Enough mostly pointless introduction...onto the goodies! It was 43 degrees out today, but the sun was shining and I couldn't wait any longer to get all the crud and filth off of my car from sitting at Pittsburgh Airport for 2 weeks and then the 90 minute drive back home. The construction of the foam gun itself simply impressed me. All parts seem very sturdy and the stainless quick disconnect is very secure, unlike the generic brand foam gun I was using prior to this one. I used the yellow-green metering tip as recommended, then after attaching the fill tube, I filled up most of the container with water, then added in 2 or 3oz of the new blue goodness and shook it up some. The wash pad on top of the brand new wash pad is used for the rocker panels and lower rear bumper, hence why it looks a little beat up. I had a third one, not pictured, that I used as well for the lower half of the doors. I prepped my wash buckets as I normally do, then added another 2oz onto the wash pad in the bucket. It foamed up very quickly, and made a very pleasant smell to me. I had no complaints with the scent of the red shampoo, and the blue shampoo has a great berry scent to it. It throws A LOT of suds! The foam gun I used before didn't have any type of metering tip. It did ok but didn't put out this kind of volume, and didn't seem to last this long, even with a larger container. I sprayed my GS down very generously to try to get those pictures, and I still had some mixture left in the container when I was done covering the whole car. Then I did my normal cleaning Rinsed off very easily, just like the old formula: I just really liked how you can see all of the pearl in the paint in this shot below Love the side profile of this car... The Opel-Buick says thank you for cleaning me in this nasty cold winter weather! Water wiped off very easily as usual with the Great White Drying Towel. Since it was so cold I didn't bother to spray any Detail Spray as a drying agent this time. And there were still some suds left in my wash bucket after I was done, and it probably took me 15 or 20 minutes of drying after rinsing it off, since I was letting my hands warm back up after each section Thanks for looking. I'm very pleased with both products, and I expected nothing less. Keep on rockin' Adam's Team!
  22. Looks incredible! How do you like that light pipe? Right now I use a Craftsmen Nextec 12v rechargeable fluorescent for spot inspections but you can never have too many lights, right?
  23. Wanted to show a few more results that are possible with the two-step polishing system and the Flex polisher. This truck was my dad's daily driver work truck for 11 years before I bought it off of him in late 2013. He only ever washed it with a hose, a sponge, and a bucket of dirty water, which caused severe swirl marks all over the entire truck. He never used soap because he was always taught that soap strips off the wax, and he still won't listen to me that the proper soap will not do that. Anyway, here are some before and after pictures: The whole truck looked like this: Front passenger fender before, notice how hazy the reflection of the two 500w halogen spotlights look and all of the scratches around that area: Front passenger fender after just one pass of the orange Paint Correcting Polish until it flashed and was ready to wipe off. The finish got even better as I continued on with the Paint Finishing Polish: Corrected clear coat on the left side of this picture of the fiberglass bed lid, uncorrected on the right. You can see a very apparent line from the reflection of the sun where I stopped polishing for demonstration purposes for my dad:
  24. Sorry Brad, I wasn't trying to push you away or show a biased opinion. I've used many detailing products in the past before trying out Adam's. I simply could not get the results I achieve with half as much effort that I get with Adam's Polishes. Most of the big name brand polishes that I used prior to Adam's, one has a 3 in the name and the other has an M and rhymes with pliers just to name two, were difficult to use, difficult to remove the residue of the polish, and created lots of dusting. I tried Adam's and switched over every detailing product i have back in 2006. I've detailed close to 50 vehicles as a side job and hobby - for friends, family, neighbors, and other customers - and every single one of them have been 100% satisfied at the results. I apologize if I dissuaded you from using this forum or made you want to go to other detailing enthusiast forums. I see that you made a separate thread about swirl marks that has some great inputs and recommendations, so hopefully you stick around to see that we have a truly great community here Respectfully, Dan Tyger
