  1. I've always argued for a handful of Adams products that should be available in concentrate, including all purpose cleaner. Unfortunately, Adams will continue to lose my business on these select products until they make these available. I understand their philosophy about ready-made products with the 110% guarantee, but it simply isn't cost-effective compared to all the other equally high quality products available in concentrate out there. Just my opinion, for what it's worth.
  2. You are better off detailing yourself than bringing it in to 90% of the detail shops out there. Poor technique/choice of tools are very common.
  3. Tire shine has been out 5.5 years?
  4. For me the must haves are: Car wash shampoo Super VRT Metro MB (not technically Adams, but they sell it and it keeps drying towels off my paint) I would like to add detail spray to the list, but until they sell it in concentrate, the alternatives out there have kept me from reordering.
  5. Can't wait for Adams to offer a coating as an alternative to sealant for even longer protection. Hopefully soon.
  6. Nope. But I can see being burned out on it if I was doing it for a living. No thanks - I will be jumping on the coating bandwagon as soon as Adams offers it. I would love to just worry about maintenance washes on our vehicles for years at a time now that we have swirl free paint. I still find using the master blaster strangely therapeutic -

    Weather woes

Weather absolutely dictates my detailing schedule. (I'm not detailing for money.) If necessary, I save any correction for the Fall and Spring months and just do wash maintenance during winter/summer. It is not worth the wear and tear on my body as well as the challenges of polishing during extreme temperature.
  8. As my washing/drying regimen has improved over the years (2 bucket wash, master blaster for drying with no towels), I find the need for polishing is becoming less and less. Unless I went into business detailing cars, I have been perfectly content with the less powerful machines that are more forgiving in terms of safety. Our 2 cars are 95-100% swirl free after initial correction, and I use the PC-xp for light polishing as needed but mainly for sealant application. IMHO, based on your needs it seems that the cyclo or getting the PC fixed would be the best option.
  9. Respectfully disagree with this advice. If you just keep smearing polish you will clog the pours of the pad rendering them useless (as well as increase chances of dusting). Often times you can use a shot of detail spray to reactivate the existing polish on the pad between section passes.
  10. My drying routine: Master Blaster Don't touch the paint = no chance of swirls/scratches.
  11. I wouldn't do it. It's a dead issue, I'm afraid.
  12. Yeah, had been doing that for a while but got self-conscious about receiving Adams deliveries at work. Shipping costs where usually lower than sending them to my house, but these days I wait for the bigger sales/low flat-rate shipping anyway.
  13. My recollection is that many felt that it wasted way too much product during its use.
  14. I have had the sidekick for 3 years before owning the MB. If you are planning on drying cars (or fleets of them), do yourself a favor and return the sidekick. (It is now collecting dust in my cabinet.)
  15. At least you don't organize shipping and ordering around the time your spouse is not home. I mean who does that ?!? ;-)
  16. Neither for me. After getting the master blaster I rarely take out the drying towels anymore. Have the whole car dried in 5-10 min.. The thing is a w e s o m e !! ;-)
  17. Looks great and welcome back -. One idea might be to throw the cord over your shoulder so it's not rubbing up against the paint.
  18. Very good idea. There were many times when these type of videos would put me back over the fence for a particular purchase. (e.g., Camaro5 Ryan's posting of the performance of the Adam's fire hoze nozzle vs. other brands). Looking forward to more of them!!
  19. Yes I've had several problems with Adams bottles cracking.. Always at the bottom seams with leather Interior cleaner and all-purpose cleaner. Ive had Adams replace the first product and didn't want to contact them about the second because I had it for a few years already. Hope the Adams team comes up with better plastic to use for these products in the future.
  20. Be sure to clay before sealing your paint if needed (use baggy test to determine if contaminants are heavy on paint).
  21. Almost everything at Adams will cost more. The foam gun, detail spray (others offer concentrate which is significantly cheaper) etc. however, you need to figure out whether the increase in quality (sometimes yes, sometimes equal) for Adams products is worth the premium. Holding off for major sales is usually my strategy
  22. I would also add that it my experience, by the time you need a second bottle of sealant (lasts several years in my case) Adam's may have a newer/improved formulation out.
  23. Always use the least aggressive method when it comes to your paint. There is no reason to unnecessarily burn through clearcoat if your finish is already flawless. (No, correcting polish will not remove orange peel.)
  24. I would go with larger diameter hose than 5/8 in linked above... I get better water flow with my 3/4in.
