  1. Never... Since I bought the master blaster -
  2. I guess I'm one of those rare exceptions. No towels touch my car after blow drying with the Mb. Do I occasionally get a water spot or drip I miss? Sure. Do I rarely need to correct my paint as a result of scratches/swirls from touching my paint? Yes.
  3. Absolutely correct.. I think we were very spoiled. From his in-depth product knowledge, video series and discussion of innovative new products (guard and gloss, progression on Adams coatings vs the "me too" products which don't seem to differentiate from other products out there - foam cannon, $70 fire hose nossle that looks identical to the cheaper one offered years ago etc). The existing Adams team obviously works hard, but you don't lose someone like him without it having a negative effect.
  4. Never. It stays clean in the closet since I've bought the master blaster. Although before this purchase I washed after every use.
  5. Following the advice given here, pool rinsing first (on a car that has a coat of wax and/or sealant so the water sheets off) will go a long way in helping you dry the vehicle. I think the drying towels do a decent job, but as mentioned before you always run the risk of inducing marring/scratching the paint when you rub on it. After receiving the master blaster last year, my drying towels have stayed unused in the closet. Think of it as a down-the-road kind of item since it is a pricey purchase. (Also shop around.). But over the long run you save a bunch of money/time by not having to correct the paint nearly as often, constantly buy towels as they get used, etc.
  6. I use my house central vac with garage kit. Ridiculous power. I love it :-)
  7. Already do this with detail spray. Just not cost effective not using concentrates.
  8. Very true. I've been using my 16 oz bottle for years (maintaining 2 cars). However, I will agree with the OP that the pricing of the 8 oz versions is a bit high especially versus competitors with similar quality products. While I know the pricing change doesn't bother many on this site, I was a little disappointed that the price per oz shot up compared to the previously-offered 16 oz versions.
  9. Well maybe someone can explain to me why out of the 30 reviews that I wrote on various products 28 of them being 5 stars and two of them being three stars ( in my opinion of course) the three star reviews got left out. Once again, is what it is. Edit: One review was 3 stars and the other 4 stars. The other 28 where 5 stars. Agreed. Although based on the number of five star reviews of the products it isn't surprising. No matter how perfect a product is you are going to have at least one or two dislikes so I figured there was cherry picking with regard to reviews. Disappointing if true.
  10. first full trailer is up... Liked the first 3, and good to see Matt Damon back in the role. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4gJsKZvqE4
  11. Because you can get an equally effective cleaner for much less money (diluted L@I cleaner makes the 16 oz go a long way :-))
  12. Wouldn't matter to me if it was magic fairy dust. I still think it should be a clean surface (whether you use a waterless wash method, full 2 bucket etc) prior to polishing. Simply wiping it with a dry microfiber as you suggest isn't the way I would approach it, but we all have our ways of approaching detailing :-)
  13. As others have said, the hose is stiff for a reason. You are talking about a bunch of heated air flowing at high volume, so it is important to have a high quality hose. I have my hanger mounted high with large loops and it works out fine.
  14. I respectfully disagree. I think it is important to work with a clean surface prior to polishing. If we are talking about dirt type of dust (as opposed to polish dust), there is no way I want that on my polishing pads as you risk grinding it into the paint which will work against you during correction.
  15. It would be great to see a comparison between this new one and the older one I bought through Adams for $50. Old one does a fantastic job (great output/power) so I will likely stick with that one.
  16. Store it in the original box in my detailing cabinet. But I'm a freak.
  17. For me absolutely. Take a little extra time with a nice layer of lsp and your golden. No drying towels touch my cars. The MB is one of the most important tools in my arsenal in maintaining swirl free paint.
  18. In my opinion, swirls are a cause of poor washing and drying technique, regardless of whether the car sits outside or is a garage queen. Certainly there is greater risk with a dirtier car, but again if you have your wash/dry routine on point you should see very minimal to no swirls being introduced.
  19. If you aren't planning on drying the whole car with the sidekick it is a fine tool. After getting the MB I rarely pull out the sidekick anymore. As long as you realize the limitations you will be fine with it.
  20. Air dry only for me with the master blaster. Less towels (no matter how high quality) touching your paint = reduced risk of swirls.
  21. Former Professor in Neuroscience. Now a Program Director at the National Institute of Health (NIH).
  22. IMHO, don't waste your time with the 4 hp model unless you are drying motorcycles. I love.. Let me emphasize LOVE the 8 hp unit.
  23. That's excellent news. I think Adam's should stay up with advances such as coatings, particularly since there are a subset of brands on the market that do not take a professional to apply and give outstanding/long-lasting results. We all have daily drivers that could use the extra protection that coatings offer, and I would absolutely jump onboard if it was added to the Adam's product lineup.
  24. I'm not sure I agree with those who were insinuating that all coatings are difficult to apply or that it should be in a professional line-up of products. I too have been waiting for Adam's to come out with a coating, but it really seems far off based on previous comments. Since Adam's doesn't offer a coating would it be against forum rules to name the brand you have been using? Alternatively, can you please PM me?
