  1. That would be something you'd have to decide on your own, upon arrival. But here's what I'd do if I were trying to eliminate the buckets.... Prep before trip: Coat leading edges of car (bumper, mirrors, etc) with QS, to allow for easier bug & contamination removal upon arrival Upon arrival: Take car to coin op wash & use high pressure rinse ONLY, to remove surface crud around wheel arches, front end, and settled crud on rear end Attempt to "pool rinse" as best as possible with the car washes "low pressure" rinse Continue with a Waterless Wash process as normally planned Follow up with DS as normal 350 miles would be a bit "much" for me to attempt a normal WW. BUT it's not out of the question. But I feel the high pressure rinse at the coin op wash, will help remove some of the bigger crud that will accumulate on a road trip of that size. The only step I see in the whole process that could be a challenge is the blow dry of cracks & crevices. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL, as there will be dust & sediment in that water. But if you're gentle & keep the towel flipped, and you DAB at the water vs. WIPE it, you could come out just fine!
  2. Just take a gallon. Seriously. And about 10 towels minimum. This is the ONE product you're okay to go heavy on. I doubt this will help, but here it is anyway, lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgZ0J9ks4CA
  3. It's because they're SO RARE. Very hard to find, especially in good condition. AWD & a big Hemi. Dammit.....why did we trade that thing again????!! :(
  4. Red Rock Crystal Pearl. G thanks. Now I miss the HEEEEEELL out of ours........
  5. Hard to go wrong with a classic "muscle car" 5-spoke. I digs.
  6. Dude..... ^^ THANKS!! Very kind gesture Paul. Took the words right outta my mouth.
  7. LOVED our Wrangler. MISS our Wrangler. But a "basic" full wash took 4 hours (that's with no interior) from all the undercarriage appointments & plastic to dress. Doing it "my way" with Adam's products from top-bottom was quite an ordeal. There was no such thing as a "quick wash detail" lol. GORGEOUS Jeep. I feel your pain.....
  8. Waterless Wash is a CLEANER. Detail Spray is a FINISHER. That's the difference between the two. They both have SEPARATE jobs. Could you use one for the other's job?? Yup. But don't complain when it doesn't work as well, when you get swirls, or when your protection doesn't last as long. Each one is designed to do something different. Waterless Wash is designed to LIFT dirt off the surface & PREVENT scratching on a lightly soiled car. Detail Spray is not. Detail Spray is designed to "finish" your paint after a wash, add gloss, and extend protection life. Waterless Wash is not. This might help a bit more. 9. It's our "go-to" sealant at Insane Paint. Hands Down. Darkens the paint upon contact. Levels nicely. And gives incredible durability. Our clients love it! PERIOD.
  10. I don't get this with SVRT. The ONLY thing I can think of, is the reaction with the other brand tire dressing. When you "level" out your tire dressing does it go away?
  11. Yup. The above dudes speak the truth. Trim, or paint that was still slightly contaminated. Nothing to worry about. You should feel better knowing that your paint achieved a new level of shine!! Now clean that pad, and get back to detailing......
  12. Yup. I ALWAYS rinse the wash mit, after each dirty section, with pressure from the firehoze nozzle, BEFORE I put it into the rinse bucket. Similar to Dylan's desire for a 3rd bucket. I just wanted to add another layer of "grit removal" from the wash pad, before it goes into the rinse bucket. Definitely some personal preference to what works for YOU.
  13. Yup. I dig Larry's videos too. Good guy. Agreed. Uuuuuuhhh. Dude. THANK YOU!!!! I don't even know what to say. That's incredibly humbling & generous. One of the nicest things anyone has said to me in awhile. Mucho appreciado bro. :D
  14. Preciate ya boys! Sorry, I hadn't checked this thread in awhile! 1 day correction & detail. FULL 12 hour day, but one day, lol. Thanks so much!
  15. UNDER Americana or Patriot, you'll get better length of enjoyment, as it won't dissipate until the wax does. BEFORE a show, it'll melt your face off. And will last about a week, before UV rays or water eliminate its effect. It's an absolutely RIDICULOUS shine. But you have to understand the context of its application. It has its purpose in the lineup, and when used for its intention, you will LOOOOOVE IT. Agreed it's not my most "frequently used" product. But when it's used.......!!!!
  16. I'm a sucker for a big butt and a smile.......and a wicked new firehose nozzle. And just like Bell-Biv-Devoe, that thing is poison.....
  17. My brutha.....from anutha mutha.......
  18. Adam's Correction Polish. Generic Microfiber hand applicator pad. Two drops. Scrub like mad. Two-three passes. DONE. Revive is a great paint CLEANING polish, but it has no cut to it, so using Revive to remove scratches is like trying to wash a car with a wooden wash mit.....does no good, lol. You need something with cut. Or if it tickles your fancy, do 1 drop of PCP, and 1 drop of PFP. But just some good ol' elbow grease and and old generic microfiber applicator. You need something slim to fit UNDER the door handle. I found foam doesn't work, because it's usually too soft. The MF provides a little more heat to the mix.
  19. Making sure you're washing & drying in the SHADE, that will aslo help greatly. I know it's STILL hot in the shade where you are. I get that. BUT, it still helps when the car is cool in the shade.
