  1. Any plans for polo shirts? Or any Adam's patch we could iron on?
  2. Also notice that with Americana the bugs come off much easier and dust does not accumulate as much....and the Vette is black
  3. Been "living" with Lynda for almost 20 years. She washes all the Adams stuff. Also have 2 ex-wives. There definitely is a difference! ......of course I do wash and polish her cars too. Must be the Adams fragrance
  4. Tuscon, Arizona. Anyone done this? Route and how long? Interesting place to stay along the way or travel straight thru?....Time to start the second 100k miles on the C6 Vette
  5. Thanks Adam. In addition to the Vette, we have 3 other vehicles. One has 270,000 miles, another 169,000 miles and the other one is only a year old with 20,000 miles. Lots of
  6. Turned 100,000 miles on C-6 Corvette today. Even drove it in the rain. Have washed it approximately 230 times, polished and/or waxed about 50 times:glasses: Now working on the second 100,000 miles !!!
  7. Or you might try what I did when Lyn complained about my snoring... ......I bought her ear plugs !
  8. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I have never washed before using nor do I believe I have ever had a problem with new towels. Lyn washes and dries per instructions I gave her from this site. We have never tried boiling in vinegar. I do not believe the surface of either car I used them on was in need of clay (both were clayed 6 months or so ago and pass the baggy test , and going over the surface with the microfiber was real smooth). As I've had this problem on occassion before, now when it happens I replace the offending towel(s). That's my solution. As far as why this happens I'm inclined to believe its from longevity......Afterall nothing lasts forever EXCEPT FOR OUR ADAMS SHINE
  9. Mine is black too. See first post for how I got them off. What is discouraging is that when this happens right after washing the car you cannot take it anywhere as they are initially too difficult to get off. I got them off after car was in garage for about 20 hours after washed it. Still had to use glass cleaner to remove from winows......believe giving enough time for the fibers to thoroughly dry was key to getting them off the paint. Good luck
  10. Have seen threads about lint from micrifibers , have had this happen before and I , too, thought was some sort of lint. Awhile ago threw out all microfiber cloths that did this and replaced. Its happening again and it is not lint. It is tiny fibers Washed Vette and used Adams white waffle weave to dry. Noticed the above occuring on glass which wiped first. Was using older waffle weave have had for about a year and instantly switched to new towel (both were Adams white towels). As for some reason I have never been able to thoroughly dry with these towels I wipe and area then go over it lightly with microfiber. Long story short....there are now tiny fibers all over the Vette. Wiping the glass with a microfiber makes it more pronounced. Using the new Adams glass cleaner with the blue cloth gets these off the glass. I'm not sure how to get these off the paint Not sure if from waffle weave or microfiber, or both. Any ideas on what causes this? Thank you, Bill Edit.....Wiped Vette paint with new plush microfiber towel and these easily came off. Majority wiped off by holding end of microfiber and "swooshing" cloth lightly over area, on only a few did I need to put in a very little more effort. They dont come off easy on glass but do on body. Immediately after washing and drying they are tuff to remove as likely still damp and tacky (my theory). Maybe the microfibers towels and drying towels have a shelf life. Still happy with these and all Adams products so when find more leaving fibers will throw the culprit away and replace
  11. Highly recommend not doing a black truck if you have no experience with a pc !! :pc:You should first practice on a lighter color

  13. Mist detail spray on Vette or on micrifiber? Thanks
  14. Finally had time to Americana the Vette. Started washing at 3:45 and finished at 6:45. Dusk when done so couldn't put in sunlight to look for areas may have missed buffing. There are always a few even though I repeatedly wipe several times during process. Curious what others do to wipe off reside you may have missed on the next day? Thank you
  15. I'm not nuts...............Being nuts would be asking Lyn if I could cover the Vette in the garage between polishings with her Mink coat Now that I think of it that's not a bad idea. Wonder if she will notice the neatly cut antennae hole?!
  16. Sounds like a great idea. I'll do the same Neighbors are going to think I've really gone bonkers now putting sheet over Vette when in garage...(maybe I'll close the garage door before apply)
  17. Goal was to go over Vette with revive then apply Americana. However, weather has become cooler and damp and will soon be dark. Finished the revive. Due to black attracting dust even in garage thinking of covering Vette with sheet. Does the polish need to cure or will covering be okay. Due to busy schedule tomorrow and rain expected Monday will not be able to apply the Carnuba til Tuesday. Will covering be okay? Please do not tell me about removing dust with detail spray or waterless wash...I am old school and don't. Thank you
  18. I have 1500 diecast corvettes...all different except 50 dupes. 750 are on display in mirrorred cases on office walls and 750 are in original boxes in bins in office . I don't buy many anymore as anything I don't have is too hard to find. Have complete sets of several collectables. All are in great condition..... even have a polish and wax kit in box from Adams competitor for diecast cars. Of course have one diecast Vette with its own custom car cover ! G. F. of 18 years collects Bakalite jewelry and Indian dolls
  19. I use to always get the dealer protectant by whatever name they called it. And believe it was once worth it Even others would remark they could tell it was my car by the way it looked. However, in recent years I believe it is not what it once was. There are much, much better ways to go. Lyn, the gf of 20 years (yes we're senior citz) had it applied to her new Mazda CRZ-7 and it was a lousy application and results. They actually put swirl marks on a brand new car and completely missed the middle of the top. I do think it has some value in protecting the interior, however, there are spray cans of interior protectant readily available ( Adam...there may be a business opportunity here). On my Vette ( new in 2006) I passed on the dealer and got better results at a detail shop for ONE THIRD OF THE PRICE ( Mom..did you read that, 3 times better for 1/3 the price)..... Price and quality wise I would surmize you can do even better (especially with your contact on this forum)...take advantage, you'll be glad you did and so will he. After disconvering Adams I would no longer get the dealer doggy stuff !!
  20. Afterwards how do you get rid of the flies?........six little legs leaving footprints all over your car ! ....And if you drive away real fast they hang on with their toenails and scratch the finish as they slide off!!
  21. This is the same experience I had just over a year ago. The junkman videos were not available at that time, however, I watched others that were available. I did get 90% of the swirls out. Since then I have used Adams hand products to get the Vette looking much better. I still have marring (?)around the edges of the hood. The Hazing has been mostly overcome especially with the glaze and another brand of Carnuaba....my next task is to use the Americana by hand on the Vette which I have recently used with great success on my other 3 cars....While the PC machine method may work for many from my limited experience it is not as easy as many make it out to be especially on black, and I recommend seeking hands on training before attempting. Sorry but it didn't work for me on the black car
  22. I'm with you..... Used PC on white car for first time. No problem. Then did black Vette. Had lots of problems. Finally after several months of adding more Adams products by hand it is better. Will never use PC on black Vette again.
  23. When we are going to stay at a motel I put "their" towels on all of the sprinklers around where we park In the morning return the wet towels to the room. Works great
