  1. WOW ! Things sure change quickly at Adams... I just used the PC 7424 for the very first time last weekend with the gen 2 pads I got 3 weeks ago. They worked very well on the test car ! However, being as paranoid as I am, although cleaned the pads, I just orderred new pads in preparation to do the Vette. Now looks like I'll be using waffle pads instead of the flat pads......Guess it all comes out in the wash so to say. On the posative side, if these are easier to use, I should be able to polish the Vette with one hand !!
  2. More stuff...........A few weeks ago I organized and made room for all of the old and new care care fluids, buckets, polisher, mitts, cloths, blower, hose, pads, added lights, etc, etc etc. Yesterday I even orderred more Adams stuff. Now I "gotta have" a foam gun. Need a bigger garage...... Huummm....Wonder if Lyn would be willing to park her Rx-7 on the street !!
  3. You'll get flies and ants all over your car !!....and they each have six legs. Think of the footprints !!
  4. Tried to post a few pictures. Got them onto photobucket , then couldn't get them to Adams. I'm not very computer savvy and we live almost at the top of the hill which is the end of the cable for DSL (especially slow when its raining). Computers Rain Adams
  5. Did it today...Used PC for first time. Washed, clayed. pc'ed with SHR and R, followed with FMP. Had to quit at 4 p m so didn't get to finish with MSW (yet).Did this on the practice car ( 99 Explorer with 160k miles). Vehicle looks great, very happy with results. It was still raining today. After washed and clayed pulled into garage. Had to leave the rear part way out of garage due to Halogen light source. I'm shining the front while the rear is being drizzled on. After finished front pulled all the way in. This stuff really works! Wish had had enough courage to start long ago. Was always too nervous. Thank you to Leo at "Detail Addict" in san Jose Ca who I asked a couple of question on the phone. He was very helpfull ! I'm sure my technique will vastly improve (used too much SHR with R on the first application, later had to keep reminding myself to slow down, got stuff all over myself and had to wipe residue off the windows many, many times. Somehow it was even on the inside of one window ??) But now that I know all of the abbreviations and have experienced this first hand I'm at least an official novice. The black Corvette may make me humble when I do it. But for now I'm in a state of jubulance !!! Thank you
  6. I too would be interested in his web site Thank you
  7. The tape intrigues me. As soon as weather clears up and I have time am going to use PC for first time. When use tape assume you need to keep PC off of it? How easy is it to control accuracy with PC?...Does tape leave any residue on weather stripping etc? If so how do you remove? Thank you
  8. quote=crawfish;22971]:help:Is there any chance of getting a clinic for our Corvette club Show October 17 in Lafayette, Louisiana? If not on that date, Is there any chance my club (Bayou State Corvette Club) could sponsor a detailing clinic and invite all of the Car Clubs in Louisiana plus the general public? I know we are not close to any of you guys, but we have some great car guys down here. (can't hurt to ask...) Or you could move your show to Lafayette California....it would be a nice ride !!
  9. Think about this........ If you park in an end stall (which I ususlly do) is it best to be on the driver's side of the adjacent stall or the passenger's side??......... In my opinion the adjacent driver is apt to be more carefull with his door than the passenger. However, as there is always a driver and there may not always a passenger perhaps the passenger side is the best side to be on?....And 60 degree stalls are definitely safer than 90 degree spaces !!
  10. I am envolved in the design and development of shopping centers and always manage to have the Architect show a few " special " parking stalls suitable fot shiney cars on the site plan. In addition there are typically stalls behind shopping centers intended for employees which they do not park in that are very suitable for those of us who do not want parking company. (even during Christmas season). You also get excersize !
  11. Hi Leo: Hope everything works out for you! When you are up and running how often do you have clinics and what goes on? I'm a noob to Machine polishing (have been using Adams for handpolishing) however, due to having a C6 Vette with almost 90,000 miles and just as many swirl marks have decided to try the machine which just arrived along with 2 boxes of stuff from Adams. Wondering if I have a problem if it would be Okay to contact you. If this is a bad time due to the situation its okay to say no. Thank you
  12. Ex-wives will cost you much more!!!
  13. xlr8rvette...... Ca...... EXLR8ER ......black C6 with 88,000 miles
  14. I just posted "my opinion" right after "his opinion" on the Vette forum. (#16 in reply to #15 )
  15. Did this thread have a happy ending? I'm getting ready to try the Gen 2 Machine system as soon as it arrives.( probably next week as a couple of items are on back order). Never used pc before. Another first time forum member gave rave reviews. I'm now getting a bit nervous.................is there a place I can go to in N. California if need hands on advice?? Also plan on claying first as believe that is the recommendation. Vehicle is black C6 Vette wth 90,000 miles and same number of swirls. Thank you !
  16. The Corvette forum gave them bad reviews (really bad )
  17. 1960 - 1964 USAF 1001st Civil Engineering Group Great experience, started my career
  18. You better shine it first !!!
  19. Lyn says I rub the Vette more than her ! But I'm thinking about trying with machine ( on the Vette that is )
  20. Do a search "self healing paint" on internet. Several listings. Nissan is suppose to offer it this year as an option in Japan. When I first heard of this I sent emails to a few companies offering to let them use it on the black Vette.....received no replies (darn )
  21. Anyone familiar with self healing paint ? Read that it is the clearcoat that will correct itself for swirl marks and scratches, is being studied and may be on some autos in 2009. Does anyone have any info? Thank you
