i agree! if you have disposable income, go for the big boy MB but if you use the sidekick for anything other than drying the entire car, its perfect

I am in no way a pro, like some of you guys but I do detail around 7-10 cars a year including my own. So I've been putting this off for quite some time but I figured it was time to finally get her all cleaned up for summer. Now this is my daily driver and NOT A GARAGE QUEEN! I wasn't looking for perfect since the truck sees a lot of use. My goal was to get about 90% of the defects out and still be able to drive it with out having a stroke anytime it rained or got dust on it. Going in, I knew my bumpers and mirrors need a respray, so I wasn't going to kill myself trying to get them equally as good as the rest of the paint. I won't make this long, so let the fun begin.
Tools:
Mostly Adam's Polishes and Chemical guy products
2 bucket wash equipment
foam canon
My new Adam's Swirl Killer
and the old stand by PC
Started by getting her clean:
1 regular
1 stripper wash
2 50/50 alcohol whip downs
Nano Skin pad on the PC to Clay the truck
1 stripper wash
Not bad. Looks clean.......
Until it's under the lights
This is pretty much the condition of the whole truck. So I started with a test spot on the hood and decided that it was going to take 4 steps to get 90% of the defects out.
Step 1: Adam's heavy cut with blue microfiber
Step 2: Adam's heavy cut with blue foam pad
Step 3: Adam's correcting polish with orange pad
Step 4: Adam's finishing polish with white pad
Here is the 50/50 test spot
And now for the entire truck
Untouched
Steps 1 and 2
Step 3
Step 4
Here is an untouched area:
and now one that has been 4 stepped:
Shout out to Kelly, Alvin and the rest of the guys!
Next, it was back outside to pressure wash it down and get some of the reside from off the trim and out of the cracks. Then I went over the truck again with the Nano Skin pad before one more touch free wash with the foam canon.
Once dried with compressed air and an Adam's drying towel it was time for shine and protection:
2 coats CG Blacklight Glaze
2 coats CG Jetseal
2 coats CG Pete's 55
Grand Finale :
The spots "on" the bumper are the reflection of the soap suds on my ****ty drive way. the bumper isn't that bad. lol.
Back outside, I did the interior, jambs, wheels and tires. Still need to hit the wheel wells but my Adam's under carriage spray hasn't come in yet. So for now back inside. I will take her out tomorrow and get some of those cool "Artistic Shots" you guys post on here!
Thanks for watching.

Yesterday I wet sanded my headlights. I had no clue what I was doing but I followed the steps from another post here on the forum.
1500 grit, 2000 grit, 3000 grit, Swirl killer with orange foam pad and correcting polish, then white foam pad with finishing polish. They are far from perfect but still 100% better

redneck08sierra reacted to Wolfeman in 2017 F-150 Raptor - new vehicle prep and polish
Worked on the whole truck today using the orange polish and orange foam pads. I got the truck to about where I want it to be. I am waiting on my mini to work some on the b-pillars that are soft and plan on taking the truck and having some type of clear bra put on there as they tend to scratch so easy. After the polish, I had just enough time to put on some Adam's Paint Sealant before having to pick up my kids from school. I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to helping other friends and family members get their cars as near to perfection as possible. I thought I would post some general pictures that I took of the truck after finishing today.

I just dealt with it b/c to me it was a small step to start living with a semi dirty truck with kids.
1. car seat indentions was the beginning!
2. food crumbs to keep the kids happy while babies
3. more food and crumbs while traveling
4. oh yeah, also forgot to mention the occassional projectile vomiting while traveling...crap gets everywhere, ha!!
5. kids got older moved into booster seats, still have indentions, but less messy food wise but not tracking in mud and all kinds of things from sports and taking there buddies places

redneck08sierra reacted to wely324 in RAM 1500 - new car detail
Detailed a new Ram 1500 that my friend just picked up a few weeks ago.
Started with a strip wash with Car Shampoo and APC. APC was also used to clean the wheel wells, tires, and trim. Deep wheel cleaner on the wheels. I used an Adam's older gray clay bar to clay the vehicle with Detail Spray.
We then washed the car again, rinsed, and dried with Adam's Great White drying towel. Paint was then protected via sealant.
SVRT on tires and trim.
Glass Cleaner and Glass sealant on windows.
Metal polish #2 on chrome wheels and trim.
Liquid Paint Sealant on wheels.
Undercarriage spray on wheel wells.
Buffing with a borderless gray towel
