Bill-V8V reacted to Performance Auto Detailing in how much do you charge?
My supplies, equipment, insurance, marketing costs, etc are all factored into my prices. Like said above for those reasons, professionals need to charge more. I am also factoring in the fact that I am driving to the car owner's house for the details. This is a side business for me (while I'm in college) but I take it very seriously - as you can tell from my website. I've got a ton of money tied up in towels, chemicals and equipment but they are all necessary expenses. Some months I have to spend a few hundred dollars for new products or towels and some months I have to spend none. And of course random things break or need to be replaced like vacuum cleaners, blowers, pressure washers etc. For all those reasons $50-100 per hour is what I shoot for.

Bill-V8V got a reaction from DieselDude in What did you do today?
Best of luck with the leg James.
I had a fun day at work today, i had to agree to do a few things that I normally wouldn't do. I like process and I hate when I am told to bypass my own process. BUt I do really like my bonus so sometimes it's good to be flexible lol
Then I shot a HS Basketball game, horrible game but still better than sitting at my desk
And technically my day isn't over, I have something that I can't start until 1 AM, should be done by 3 AM if all goes well.

If you are going to be accepting money for detailing you really need to have insurance and it has nothing to do with pickup and drop off. What happens if you burn through on an edge or your light stand falls and scratches down through the base. You will be responsible for a respray and that can get really expensive really fast. That is only one reason why a professional needs to charge more, they need to protect themselves and their customers in the event that something goes wrong. And we all know eventually something will go wrong. I've fixed things for friends and a few times a friend of a friend but I have made it extremely clear that I am not a professional and I am only doing it as a favor. It may seem like an easy way to make some extra money but it is also an easy way to end up in small claims court.

While the red-white-blue extension cord is cool, an extension cord is something that you can get at a hardware store, not something that Adam's is engineering to be the best on the market.
If the bucket dollies don't sell, its just not feasible to sell them either. These are also available at some hardware stores or you can buy one from gritguard.com
I would much rather see Adam's use money that would be allocated to items like these to, instead, introduce innovative products, re-engineered products, or additional Adam's specific items. It is because of these types of improvements that the products have changed and continued to get better over time, so I vote to keep that up!
Maybe re-introduce the Adam's flatbill that wasn't snapback though? I've seen Adam wearing one in a few videos and would like to have one myself haha

Nice job !!!!
Guessing something more aggressive than Revive was used, it is more of a paint cleaner.

Good eye Bill. 1977-78 Sherwood...Forget the model # at the moment. I bought it new in 78. The Bose 301 speakers started to dry rot on me a few years ago, took them to a local Bose outlet and they pro-rated me a new pair. Approx 7-8 years ago. Just sold the Turntable and cassette player I bought with the receiver this past summer to a friend who collects them along with several vinyl lp's..My fiancé ask me what are you doing with this old stuff.. I kept everything growing up like this. Still have my BB card collection and a huge Redline Hotwheels collection 1968-72. Getting ready to put the HotWheel collection online to sell....still love the vintage sterero sound...Tks for asking...
