  1. hey Junkman, can you weigh-in on 'do suds = lube' question?
  2. dang, Harry, you're the man with all that A/V. makes me feel like a total weenie for not pulling the trigger and hacking into my head-rests to install a couple dvd players/monitors...just too scared to jack it all up... sweet Hummer...inside and out
  3. I think you still need a bucket to rinse the gunk off the mit and get extra suds (as suds = lube you want the most you can get).
  4. Michael, Im pretty sure we all agree that if you are going to go further than a "dry wash" (with detail spray only, not water/soap/etc) you should go ahead and always take a mitt to it. the foam is good to break-down the dirt and gunk, but it prolly wont remove it from the surface to the point that you can be safe dragging a drying towel over it.
  5. Ty, sorry to read about this. Glad no one was really hurt. Just think about the physics and other variables at play here. This could have been very VERY bad for your wife if things were shifted only inches one way or the other...God id good to us, eh?
  6. i love me some peeps! those things are nectar from the Gods!
  7. So, I have no clue what ballpark of RPMs drills put out. Anyone?
  8. I put this link on my Facebook and I encourage others to do the same! on a somewhat related note, I just got a visit from the cops! my neighbor called the cops b/c my cat pooped in his yard! haha..I cant believe it. what a tool...and this was after he came by and cursed me out in front of my 2yo son. I told that he had said the "s" word twice in front of my son, and there would not be a third time...ARGH...i need a punching bag right now.

    Joke of the Day

    that's awesome...
  10. sweet! I have to ask, will there be a larger yellow pad as well?
  11. Frank, if you have used the Adams Foam gun, can you compare the soap usage to that of your foam cannon?
  12. not to hijack the thread, but is a foam "cannon" the type that you connect to a pressure washer? the type that leaves this really clingy foam which you then have to rinse off (i.e. it doesnt run off the surface on its own)? I've seen some YouTube footage of these and think they are awesome..
  13. I also use a tip I read here to dry them. Put them in a bucket with the grit guard so the water pools in the bottom...however, dont leave them in there too long or the grit guard pattern will leave its imprint.
  14. ok...enough is enough. I think we need to launch a formal investigation into what the heck people are using to wash their vehicles with in AK. Ive never such horrible swirl marks as what Sundog has corrected....its ridiculous! Is there an abundance of SOS pads or something? An outlet for steel-wool?
  15. Ive never had an issue with the MSW staining my trim pieces. The S&H and FMP, however, certainly leave residue on my bed-rail caps/bedliner. But even that is nothing a little APC cant take care of...
  16. wow...that's terrible. part of me thinks that it looks like kids being kids, but its overly inapropriate and inflamatory. an important part of enjoying the 1st Ammendment is enjoying it properly and with respect for others. These kids need that lesson...and quick!
  17. uh oh, first problem with the Traverse: its a Consumer's Digest Best Buy. I hate the publication. Every time I take their advice i get burned.
  18. well, I know that this forum has a definite slant towards American products. and thats cool, i understand. but here is my personal experience. in 2001 i got a new Tacoma and my dad and brother each got new Silverados (my bro got the z71). in the four years that I had that Tacoma I had zero problems with it. in fact, I never did anything other than regular maintenance (oil/filter air filter, transmission fluid replacement, transfer case oil replacement...blah). in that same time span they each had to replace the fly-wheel, brakes and one of them had a transmission service bulleitin they called in. serious issues, comparitively. not to mention that my truck had much less road noise inside the cab than theirs did and got just as good if not better mpgs. oh, and the Tacoma is way better looking than those Chevys IMO. now, I know that GM has stepped-up is game since 2001 and their products (particularly the Silverado/Sierra) are much more impressive. Im certainly willing to consider the Acadia/Traverse for an SUV; that commercial with Howy Long makes some good points (even if Long is a complete tool). In fact, i think I'll go to their site right now and price a Traverse with all the options I have priced in a Pathfinder.
  19. hey all, I am in the market for an SUV and my wife really likes the Pathfinder. Im curious if you all have any experience with them good/bad. anything I should look out for? any input is appreciated!
  20. sweet car! who says white cant look impressive?
  21. David, have you checked this list? http://www.adamspolishes.com/showdealers.aspx
  22. In my experience, people are often surprised to learn how much a good detail is worth. They think 'its just a car wash' and that its worth 20-40. ha! I asked some co-workers what they would be willing to pay for a wash, clay, scratch removal and wax. they all thought 50-60 would be about right. yeh, right.
  23. I predict this thread gets locked/deleted at some point...lol. In the end, we should shut-up and talk cars..we dont all have to agree on everything - only on how slick a black swirl-free finish looks!
  24. Ok, I've held back long enough...I have a few points I would like to make. 1. why is it that "illegal Mexicans" are being discussed here? this is a thread about flags and protocol - how did we make the jump to assuming that the guys were illegal? we dont know the first thing about these guys. Be careful of speculation and blanket statements. they are too inflamatory. 2. when it comes to Spanish classes in public schools, I think it only makes sense that if a second language is to be a part of the curriculum, the most popular second language should be the one! I think it has less to do with catering to the Spanish-speaking crowd (as, by definition, they already know how to speak Spanish) and more to do with preparing our kids to get by in the most common second language. 3. "official" language is a dangerous topic. take for example my home town which is easily >98% Latino and Spanish speaking. the people there have large in part been there for hundreds of years and various governments' rule. they are indigenous and they are most fluent in Spanish. so why in the world should they be forced to live by official documents/etc which are written in their second language?! That's like me going to some ridiculously disproportioned English speaking community and lobbying that Spanish be made the official language. The strength of our Constitution and government in general is its flexibility in accomodating the majority. So why should it not accomodate Spanish speakers in my town and English speakers in yours? And oh, by the way, this same argument applies to MANY cities in the Southwest. We didnt come to the US - it came to US. 4. seeing Mexican dishes on your menus, hearing Latin beats on your radios and seeing brown bombshells on your tv is not us forcing our culture on you. its marketting! and guess what? it works!!! Now, dont get me wrong, I love the US and my family has shed blood for it just as much as the next guy. I love the opportunities I have and freedom I enjoy. I just hate the 'love it or leave it' and anti Mexican mentalities.
