Welcome back! The ID now has Microban, and it leaves a similar finish as the original. Plus there are more scents (not baby powder, though). My personal favorite is the Eucalyptus Mint, and I do not like the Cucumber Aloe, but smells are subjective. Popular ones in the store are Cedarwood and Sweet Pea.

It's going to depend a lot on the condition it arrives in and your expectations of how you want the paint.

With a black truck I would go out on a limb and say it'll need correcting to some degree, a DWC decon and clay. Then choose the protection and LSP you desire. I'd grab Liquid Paint Sealant and H2O at a minimum and if you're using this order to get your supplies stocked then:

    All Purpose Cleaner
    SVRT
    2 bucket kit
    Total Interior Detailer
    rinse less
    Detail Spray

Decided to spring clean the motorcycle leathers today. Leather cleaner to start and then go to the cart in the garage and grab an applicator from yesterday with Leather conditioner on it and the orange bottle off the cart. Get done with the jacket and the leather couch I'm sitting on and I'm "man, this doesn't seem to be working well and whys it so chalky?"

Look at bottle.......... Paint correcting Polish

    SIGH.......

Reclean and grab the correct orange bottle lol. At least my couch gloves and jacket are swirl free.

Try switching to white foam... The issue you're seeing could very well be artifacts left behind by the white MF pad.

Absolutely no harm in asking... so don't apologize.

There are 100's of "experts" out there who all have a different horse in the race... if something looks intriguing give it a try, but be prepared to learn that "the best" means something different to everyone. Its how I evaluate our stuff... I try almost everything out there.

Ask if they have used all the supposed best wash medias out there to compare the sea sponge to.

    Here's the problem...

Too many people throw around the word 'best' that are not qualified IMO. It can't be THE BEST if that person hasn't used nearly everything (realistically) in a specific category. It's ok if a person says "It's the best ________ I've used", but then that's when you question them and ask how many other _______ have they used.

...and by qualified, I mean someone that has used a lot of different products. You see this kind of "best" stuff on car forums a lot. Irritates me.

Someone once told me that _______ is the best shampoo ever!....they had only used 3 shampoos at the time. Now how is that person qualified to say a specific shampoo is the best?

Plus... after attending the auctions for YEARS and seeing the condition of these cars in person (not on TV with very forgiving lighting) I don't think I'd look to any auction company as an authority on car care.

When I am finished with a pad I spray it with APC and put it in a bucket of water.  When I am finished with the detail, I place the Grit Guard over them, spin on the Gamma Seal lid and let them sit for a few hours or even a day or so,  Rinse them, spray more APC, and rub them over the GG to help remove the polish/LSP.  Rinse thoroughly, and let them dry.

Love HGG.  I did four vehicles yesterday and used about 1/3 of the bottle.  A little goes a long way.  Not bad considering I did a mid-size truck, a sedan, small car, and a mini-van.  Really impressed with the shine and slickness.

^^^If using a modified GDWM when rinseless washing I would NOT use the same towel you just cleaned a panel with, to apply the HGG (because the dirt you just removed is encapsulated in the towel)

Not sure if that is what you were implying.

If you are implying clean the panel with your rinseless soaked towel, set aside for laundry, pick up your damp and clean HGG applicator towel to wipe in the HGG, then set that aside to be used with the next panel, then finally a dry towel to pick up any residual water and wipe streak free, then yes, that is a perfect regimen for the HGG integrated into a rinseless washing process.

I have a 1 gal pump sprayer from HD that I put 1oz of rinseless in with 1 gal of water.  I use that to presoak for rinseless washes.  I tend to prefer dual knap towels for my rinseless, plus on one side and shorter on another.  I tend to use the plush side for washing which gives me 4 sides, enough for 1 section.  Then I wring it out and flip/fold for the short nap unused side and dry most of the water off the panel.

This is all personal preference though.  For the towels that Adam's offers I would prefer using double softs.  I tend to feel that a fluffy ~470gm such as a single soft is a little to soft/flimsy when completely soaked in solution and won't hold the square shape as well.

As far as car shows go.  I have the small Adam's detailing bag as my Emergency Detail Bag that I keep in the car.  Glass Cleaner, Detail Spray, TID, QD diluted Rinseless and multiple towels stay in there at all times.  Rinseless or RTU WW for car shows and plenty of good towels.

This and the ease of application really doesn't require a machine. There is (to me at least) a certain satisfaction to applying a premium wax by hand. The smell, the application, the haze, the removal and the ever so slight running of a finger over a slick and smooth surface is way better than a machine job!!!

Not same for rinseless.  If using a RTU Waterless, you'd have to apply the HGG off using the "dry" method.

However, if you're doing a rinseless wash, just clean the panel with your wet soaked towel, set it aside, spray on the HGG, take your separate damp towel, wipe in, and a dry towel to wipe streak free.

I feel like I've posted this 4-5 times already but its a great way during the rinseless washing process to add shine and protection in one step, integrated into your normal rinseless washing routine.

I'd say 6 is a safe bet as well.  Roof, Hood/Bumper, Side, Side, Trunk, Rear.  Depends how long your car is for the sides though.

I could see them combining Undercarriage into this product.  That's probably their least selling product and if they offer a thick version that could be diluted for spray or applied directly for a shinier look it could work.  It wouldn't necessarily steal away from VRT since SVRT has a more matte look.

Plus a thick version to apply with a foam pad would be less messy for the garage/driveway floor and last a long time.
