AmyAtAdamsAustralia got a reaction from Chris@Adams in Swirls, a dent and more!
Ryan with all things detailing always try the least aggressive method first. With the trim try a light polish with Revive Hand Polish. If that doesn't get you there you can try machine polishing with Revive or Paint Finishing Polish. These sections of the car don't really need that much more unless really hammered.

Regarding the dent/white mark- looks to me you have some paint transfer, again taking the same approach above, try either a light clay with detail spray followed by Revive Hand Polish. This should improve the area. Unfortunately we don't have any product in our range that fixes dents, however it will be less noticeable

You know how Leather Conditioner used to say just "Leather Conditioner" and now it says "Leather and Interior Conditioner"? Advertising the multi use on the label.

My idea is on DWC place a smaller font wording underneath like "& Iron Remover" so it advertises the multi use as a paint Decon product as well. It's already on the small side label I think so it might just help sell more uses and product for people who haven't used a paint Decon spray before.

Maybe in the future set of videos this feature could be highlighted as well after the wash and before claying?

Take my .02 for what it's worth, just with Sonax coming out with Fallout Remover and Optimum's advertised as Paint/Wheel combo product it's just a suggestion.

Either way DWC has the best price point, performance, and IMO as I've tried most of them, SMELL. At least the cherry scent does a good job of masking the chemical, some of them don't even try to LOL

Without getting too much into it, there is a very very VERY good reason we don't sell anything like a water blade - the potential for damage is extremely high. This video clip is older, but it does an excellent job of illustrating the point:

AmyAtAdamsAustralia reacted to fogle in Prototype Sealant on 07 Honda Accord
Well I won the Super Bowl contest on here and was promised a beanie and a trial of a new prototype product being worked on by Dylan and the crew at Adam's.

Come home Saturday and FedEx had delivered a box with this inside.

I figured I'd be receiving a bottle of the new soap that Adam's has coming out but was surprised with a new product that hasn't been teased to everyone yet.

So, once I read the love letter Dylan left me in the box I decided to give the new product a try so I figured I'd test it on the wife's Honda Accord.

This car had a quick sealant appied to it a few months ago and it was time to reapply a sealant so this was perfect time to give it a shot.

First thing I did was give the car a good wash.

After I finished that I applied the new sealant to the car. No pictures of that as I did it quick while it was still light outside.

Car has a good shine with the sealant on it and is very smooth to the touch.

From what I understand this is .1 of the product so I'm sure there will be another formulation or two of this before it's released so these are just my thoughts on .1.

Application was straight forward and simple. It seemed to "clog" my microfiber more than I figured it would.

I applied it to every surface on the car. Another product I used I had a hard time getting it to come off the windows but this removed very easily.

The color of it threw me off a bit when I first looked at it but after reading the letter this is not the final color.

Smell was ok, no fruity good smell or anything but like the color it's not final until the formulation is right.

Sprayed a little water on the hood and the beading was very good.

Ready for it to rain to see how it compares to the last sealant that was on the car.

Not much of a write up since there's no longevity testing or anything on the car but just from using this version I believe it's going to be a huge hit with Adam's once they get it all final and hopefully I can talk Dylan into sending me a small bottle of .2,.3 etc to see the differences.

AmyAtAdamsAustralia reacted to Fierce5 in Detailed: 1989 Ford Mustang - Track Car
Couple of weeks ago I got called by the owner of the Saleen I detailed few months back and asked me to detail his track car, a 1989 Ford Mustang with a roll cage and all the bells and whistles to win on the Track.

Car wasn't in a bad shape since it's only driven at the track and very little street time (car is street legal), but the interior needed cleaning and I removed few stains from the passenger's side.

I then took care of the door sills.

Also, both seats needed some love so I vacuumed and cleaned the vinyl sides.

I then went ahead and vaccuumed and cleaned the trunk area and then went ahead and cleaned the side panels.

After I was done with the interior and taking care of the minor defects here and there I moved on to paint correction. It was cold outside and the weather did not  cooperate. Low temperatures meant that I couldn't use the hose to wash the car so I went with a waterless wash using a combination of Detail Spray and Waterless Wash.

After claying the car, I took my 3401 Flex and Adams Paint Correcting Polish and got to work. The video below is a 50/50 testing a 2x2 area for effectiveness.

In my experience critters will chew wires under the hood of any car, detailed or not.

I've seen plenty of 'un-detailed' vehicles get a rat infestation so I don't think its a product thing, I think its an exposed wire thing.

    Ed nailed it.

I've been able to get my hands on various dealer paint protection products over the years. permaplate being among them. Whats in that bottle is no different that whats in a bottle of Liquid Paint Sealant, and in many cases its watered down or full of mineral spirits.

What carries the value is the warranty, but what most dealers won't get into is the fine print. There are a lot of things that instantly void that warranty and something as simple as not showing up at a regular pre-determined interval for another application is one of them. They're banking on you not honoring your end of it so they don't have to honor theirs. Not all dealers are horrible about this, but many are and sadly they're the rule, not the exception.

The warranty really amounts to an insurance policy the dealership leverages against your car, so if you do meet all the requirements and something happens thats covered its like an insurance claim and its fixed, but in all the years I've been in this business I've heard relatively few cases where the dealer protection package worked out in the customers favor.

Long story short - polishing will remove the sealant. claying will remove the sealant. time and exposure to the elements will remove the sealant. Since you didn't pay for the package I say strip that paint, correct it, and maintain it as you usually would.

I worked in the car business in sales and finance for about ten years so I can give you my 2 cents.  Each dealership has their own 'exterior paint protection' gimmick that they try to sell you in the finance office (I had to.....was part of my bonus).  They get you one of two ways.  The first is that they claim every car/truck on the lot has it and it's added to the dealer accessory part of the window sticker.  The pricing is totally up to them.  I've seen it listed at $299 up to $999 or more.  Now I can't speak for every dealership in the country but the ones that claim they all have it on them already are lying up their #(%*!  It's pure inflation to the price of the car.  The second option is for you to voluntarily purchase it in the finance office and factor it into your monthly payment.  All that happens is you make an appt to bring your car back to the dealership and the same minimum wage workers that scrubbed it with a dirty brush when you bought it will do it again and apply, via filthy cheap microfibers, some type of generic sealant.  Most usually have TONS of fillers to help hide blemishes in your paint but trust me, there is no paint correction going on with that.  LOL.  Again, if you buy this, 100% of it is pure dealer profit (referred to as back end gross).  I'd suggest you wash it with a car shampoo mixed with a few ounces of APC and watch PERMA-whatever disappear.  It's in no way even remotely close in quality to Adams or any other high end brand sealant.
