Rupes vs Flex
b_pappy replied to Ls1transam's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I have a Flex 3401, the Cyclo, and obviously have used the Swirl Killer machines. I'm honestly thinking of selling the Flex. Just don't really see a need for it anymore. The Swirl Killers are that good. -
Welcome. I'm a dealer in southern California, the San Fernando Valley area primarily. Let me know if I can help either of you out. Also, follow me on Instagram to keep track of car shows I'll be at. Bruce IG@ Bruce4Adams

My experience has been the Tire Shine is less likely to attract dust the VRT would. Took about one use to convince me Tire Shine for tires. Tire & Rubber cleaner really helps prep them for best results.

New blue wheel cleaner not as good as the old pink stuff?
b_pappy replied to Bansheeboy11's question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
I like the new blue too, but a Detailer who buys through me swears the old pink death worked better. -
Ceramic Boost ???
b_pappy replied to Nickfire20's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
My XLR is well waxed with Patriot, but a few weeks ago I topped it with Ceramic Boost with no ill effects. It seemed to give the paint (blue steel) more depth and gloss, plus the amazing hydrophobic properties. -
Right you are! I did my Silverado in a day, my Road Glide took 3. Your bike looks great though, and you'll love the ease of maintenance and killer shine. I wiped down my chrome with just the Ceramic Boost and it looks great too. Bruce IG @ Bruce4Adams

Just an update, no pics. No, I haven't come to my senses, nor has my wife, so we're still building this. We have the engine and trans in, custom radiator made and installed. heater conversion complete. the headers and motor mounts are complete, and the complete exhaust is built, all mandrel bent tubing. The driveshaft is built. We picked a custom master cylinder for 4 wheel power disc brakes. Nothing "off the shelf" fits, but that's partly why I'm building a Vega, a little more of a challenge, and a little unique. We're getting closer, but it doesn't happen very fast. Next we're planning on running all new fuel and brake lines. Maybe this year :-) Bruce

How often do you wash your towels?
b_pappy replied to jermonger69's question in Towels, Brushes, & Accessories
Yes, after every wash. No reason risking picking up contamination and doing damage. Just buy a few towels with every order and pretty soon you'll have a nice stock. -
Ceramic Coating On Vinyl Wrap
b_pappy replied to Kourtney@Adams's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
I was speaking at a Corvette club the other night and coincidentally two Ghost Shield reps were there, so our talks became one. They suggested the Ceramic Boost only on top of their products. Not contradicting what was said above, just giving an alternate method. -
Ceramic coating and door jams
b_pappy replied to Thorsager's question in Exterior Protection & Enhancement
Nice, looks great. Yeah, I am just blown away by the Ceramic Paint coating. -
wow, sorry to see that. Reading that, I have to be super careful. My eyesight isn't what it was. For polishing I have to use my prescription bifocal reading glasses (old age and cataract), but at that stage I usually don't wear them! So, if there is a bright side, you have taught many of us to watch for that. Hope it cleans up easy enough for you.

Welcome to the forum Blake. Lots of great people and great info here.

Ceramic coating and door jams
b_pappy replied to Thorsager's question in Exterior Protection & Enhancement
Or if you're a bit less enthusiastic, just use the Ceramic Boost alone. -
It's a great polisher, and a real value. I can hardly keep them in stock. Bruce IG @ Bruce4Adams

Dealers are here to support the customer, and offer hands on support and advice, detailing tips and clinics. Adam's offers great customer service, and most every dealer I've met strives to exceed that. If they don't, they don't stay dealers very long. Yes, the internet has put seemingly everything just a few clicks away, but to some, supporting local dealers is important too. Mat, if your dealer is Lukas he's a great guy. Give him an opportunity to earn your business. Bruce

What is ok to wash in Cold Water?
b_pappy replied to jakerodz7's question in Towels, Brushes, & Accessories
A little off topic, but I am reminded of a trip to my grandfathers cabin many years ago. Grandpa served lunch and I noticed the plate wasn't spotless. I made a comment and grandpa said "that's as clean as Coldwater can get them." Well, this was the mountain cabin so I accepted it. At dinner I noticed the plate wasn't very clean again. Grandpa saw me looking and repeated "That's as clean as Coldwater can get them." Well we finished dinner and as grandpa stood up he said "Time to feed the dog, Coldwater, dinner time" and his faithful dog Coldwater came running. I now return you back to the forum, and useful information about detailing. -
welcome to the forum Sarah. I'm sure you'll find lots of helpful people and information here. Bruce

Cyclo Dual Head or Swirl Killer or Flex Random Orbital
b_pappy replied to slalom38's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
I have loved the Cyclo for a long time, still a great tool to use. That said, with the new line of Swirl Killer machines I expect to be selling fewer Cyclos. The SK is a great machine, at a very great price. I have some pro detailers who are using them now too, so, a great machine for novice or pro, at a good price point. Bruce -
Great,write up and car, congrats.
