Probably one of the hottest things at SEMA this year was the F100 BOSS on display - I'm not a Ford guy by any stretch, but this thing was BANANAS!!

To be honest I haven't made an order since Dylan left. He was the reason I started using Adam's and without him the company didn't feel the same. Dylan was more than an employee to many of us. He was the guy that talked to you like a friend when you ran into him at a show or clinic. I first met Dylan at CamaroFest and he answered every question that I could think of and some. I also met Mook and he was great as well. They sold me on Adam's because of their passion to detail and the ability to pass along their knowledge to everyone.

Adam's hasn't been the same since their departure. Now if we can get Mook back in the fold things can only get better with Adam's 2.0. Glad to see you back my friend. Big things are on the horizon for Adam's.

Because most if not all of the forum members over there joined because of Dylan.  Its simple, Dylan left SCG forums and so did the people lol.

How about a little competition in the bug/tar remover category? Rural missouri is a nightmare when it comes to both.

SInce I started testing coatings, both unique formulations and stuff sold by other companies, this isnt' true for all of them. The big guys the Opt and CP are living up to the claims for sure. The smaller outfits though - theres a lot of hype that isn't delivered on. One very popular option (that I won't name) was applied and I was able to completely diminish the beading properties of it in 3 washes by using nothing more than APC concentrate mixed in soap. The label of course claimed YEARS of durability. Others that claim self cleaning proved to do no better at repelling grime than a basic poly sealant.

My point is this - the coatings market has some legit players, then theres a lot of guys relying on smoke, mirrors, and consumer ignorance to capture market share. Heres the funny part - in the world of coatings there primary raw material (polysilazane) only comes from a limited source. The newer versions that promise more gloss cut that with resins. In a dumbed down way more resin = more gloss, but less durability. What you should be looking for in a coating (IMHO) is out and out durability since it can be topped with more traditional LSP's for the asthetic aspects.

What is truly exciting is whats on the horizon, legitimate self healing coatings that can be wire brushed and level themselves out in just moments. The catch - they require a full clean downdraft paint booth, professional paint spraying equipment, and cost thousands of dollars to have applied. Not exactly technology that people will be using at home.

The current generation of stuff is becoming more and more user friendly, what needs to happen is more consumer education as to what a coating can actually do. There are far too many claims that are just baseless out there and too much hype by guys who don't know any better. If/when we finalize a coating product the goal will be to set REALISTIC expectations for what the product does - not a bunch of outlandish promises.

Is a coating really a product everyone needs? IMO no. I wouldn't ever apply one to my C/10... doesn't make sense. Would I use one on my daily driver thats parked outside 24/7? Absolutely. Theres viability for use on wheels for most people, but not entire cars for everyone. We'll delve more into it as we work towards a solution of our own.

I prefer 5 gallon buckets, more storage space and ability to transport bottles/towels/tools etc when taking them on a trip or a mobile job.

It's really hard in the Adam's wash regimen to get a jumbo wash pad, a regular wash pad, a grit guard, and 3 gallons of water and have some room to stir up the suds without overflowing the bucket.

OUT2WIN reacted to Adam in Power Tool Warranty Update:
Thanks friends, and remember, if you bought something from us, and it fails, we are going to stand behind it.  We are not going to say, "Oh, bummer, you are on your own.  Call the mfg, and they will handle it."

That's not how we roll, and anyone that has had an issue with any of our products will confirm this.

One of the reasons we now sell the Cyclo:  It's an incredibly sturdy machine, and no matter how hard it's used, abused, and trashed, it lives on!

We are still going to guarantee everything we sell with a 110% Guarantee.   The power tool warranties have been abused like crazy, and we cannot continue to replace machines that have been used / abused, and are then returned, completely clapped out.   (The majority of our returns on machines were units that were used professionally, clapped out, and up for replacement.)

Suppose that's why cars have a warranty that expresses both a number of years, or miles, whichever comes first.  How realistic is the customer who takes his/her car into the dealership for a warranty repair with 110K miles on the clock?   Are they really surprised, or just bummed to learn the warranty ended 50K or 60K miles ago?
