For Adam or Dylan: A Ride, A Rant & A need for website to be updated

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this is long but I have to get this off my chest…

So today while I was waiting for the wife to finish getting her hair done, all I could think about is it’s a nice day and I should be detailing the cars. Then I remembered that I was out of VRT and applicators. Thinking about it some more, I could also use some interior leather cleaner for wife’s car, maybe some more DS and an Adam’s bag if they carry it there. I pulled out the trusty iPhone, went on the Adam’s site looking for a Dealer in Illinois hoping there was one semi close to me.

On the website I found the following dealer about 20 minutes from where we were;

Stasek Chevrolet

Contact: Dean Witter

700 West Dundee Road

Wheeling, IL

Since it is only 20 minutes in the wrong direction from home I figured it would be a nice side trip for us. My wife knows how much I love Adam’s products, she even got me a PC kit for my birthday earlier this year, and I knew she would get into the spirit especially if we got to talk with people about detailing products or cars in general.

When her hair appointment is done we punch address into GPS. It takes about 30 minutes to get there in traffic. We arrive and it is a Chevy Dealership with tons of new cars in the lot. We are both car nuts so we pull in. Of course I had to snap a few pics which I will add at the end of this rant.

While looking at these vehicles I am wondering where the “proshop” is located. An older gentleman who was sales manager approached us. He asked, “Has anyone helped you yet?” I respond that we have not been helped yet and we really are not looking to buy a new car. He gives me a look and then I tell him that I am looking for their ‘Proshop” because I am here to buy some Adam’s Products. I am grinning thinking about all the cool Adam’s stuff I am about to gaze upon. The salesman cops a “tone” and says, “We are out of Adam’s Polishes and have not carried them for 6 months.” I say really???? He just looks at me and then walks away.

Nothing more said…..

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p>

All I can say is 0_o???? I mean I know dealers make money selling cars but I was interested in buying product from his shop. Why the attitude? Just because of that I will never send any of my “bowtie” (Chevy) friends to this dealer for anything.

<o:p></o:p>

So now I am 45 minutes from home, pissed, no VRT for me and I did not detail the cars today because I don’t like doing a half *** job.

<o:p></o:p>

Adam or Dylan can you get the website changed if this person is no longer a dealer so no one else in my area wastes their time like we did.

That is definitely a disheartening experience.

NO matter what the guy didn't have any reason to be rude to you - that is just horrible. He's lost not only one customer but anyone who reads this post.

Playing devils advocate...it could be possible that Adams didn't discontinue their service with this location but that the dealer just chose not to purchase new product and never notified Adam that they no longer wanted to participate as a local dealer.

I have no doubt that if Adam knew about this, the site would be updated.

Bill,

My name is Tom Puchalski, Sales Manager at Stasek Chevrolet. I appreciate your post in regards to your experience at our dealership. Bill Stasek Chevrolet does not tolerate the type of behavior that you are describing and I am quite shocked to read about it online. Our customers are the most important thing in the world to us and I assure you that this incident will be investigated. At one time our Pro shop carried Adams products but we no longer do. Dean Witter, our Pro Shop Manager, did in fact have our dealership listing removed from Adams website. On behalf of Bill Stasek Chevrolet, I apologize for your experience and would like to give you a special coupon. Please feel free to reach me any time from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm during the week or from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday so that I can personally assist you. My cell phone # is 847-815-8704.

Regards,

Tom Puchalski

So sorry to hear this John. Due to the recent changes to how our dealer listings work theres a good chance this was just a glitch and it definitely should not have directed you to a dealer who no longer sells our products. I apologize and if theres anything we can do to help make up for it please let us know.

While we're on the subject - not all dealers stock all items, so before making any trip to a local distributor its a good idea to call ahead and verify that they have the items you're looking for. Some of our larger dealers stock everything at all times, some smaller guys only carry the basics, but can order you what you need and have it shipped in. This situation could have also ended in frustration if you had driven and they had still stocked product, but maybe not the ones you were interested in getting.

I don't mean to be "that guy" But, the attitude you received is the exact same attitude that I received every time I have walked into a chevy dealership. And back when I was a gm guy I would receive that attitude when my self or my father would want to purchase a car. Weird, because gmc has a totally different attitude and is why my self and my family would only purchase gmc's. It's all fun and games until you have an issue and then the service drops like a rock:lolsmack:

Granted, you were in there for a totally different reason but chevy dealers do have an "air" to them IMO

I have been to a few chevy dealers and only because I bought my SS in Alaska. That dealer was AMAZING....It was the second vehicle I had bought from them.

While I was in Georgia visiting family....I had to go to the Chevy dealer there because my window regulator went out. I told them what it was (because I am a smart girl and I researched it) and the refused to order a part until they saw it. I was in town one week. They couldn't see me until day 4. Say Oh it's the regulator alright but it will take us a week to get the part. F that!

Now here in Virginia, I've used two different dealers. Both are poor when it comes to service. Matter of fact I wrote to GM about the service I received it was that bad.

When I was in PA I had a friend who's g8 had issues. That dealer went above and beyond to get us handled and back on the road, etc. It's a 50/50 shot on how you get treated.

@Tom Puchalski - Thanks for taking the time to register to the forum to reply to my rant. Also nice to see that your Media Relations Department is scanning for bad reviews about your dealership and you are willing act on it. I appreciate the offer for a discount/coupon and such but do not want to receive anything as compensation. Overall I just expect to be treated with respect as a customer and if you can fix that at your dealership then that is reward enough. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

@Dylan – No problem about the glitch in the site. My post was part rant, part an FYI in case you guys were not aware of the situation. Also even if they had stocked some of Adam’s product it would not have been a wasted trip. Who doesn’t carry VRT? <o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

Once you have APF syndrome (Adam’s Polish Fever) it does not matter the quantity, just a fix of purchasing something to make my ride look awesome makes it all better. I even tell all my friends that nothing is more relaxing / therapeutic than spending some time using Adam’s product on my car, while smoking an ACID Windycity cigar, enjoying the soothing rhythm of the PC. <o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

@Mayben – You are just wrong bro. <o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

@Stormchaser – I guess it just depends on the dealership. I have the same issue with Ford dealers in Illinois. That is why I found the best, IMHO, dealer in Appleton Wisconsin (180 miles away) which I will gladly drive 3 hours to them when I need a car or minor service work done. I have been a customer of them for the last 12 years and bought many cars from them for that reason. Even got friends to go see them from Illinois.<o:p></o:p>

I believe the Naperville Adam's dealer is still there.

Yes it is, but the pickings are slim. No Americana, MSW or MSS, towels and only one grey pad. Had plenty of APC & UCS. Don't remember the rest even though I was there this week. Old age sucks!:willy:

And yes Mayben I know:
