Hey guys,

I figured since music and cars seem to always go hand in hand, and how music plays such a big roll in my life. I wanted to hear some of you guys and gals favorite lyrical quotes. So lets see um!

I've actually had two that really stood out to me today.

The devil wears prada - Untidaled

Time to be joyful in no consistency. Faith can be our only regularity. Time to be joyful in no monotony. There are no final goodbyes, this is our certainty.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LJvGCrCJyM]02 - Untidaled - The Devil Wears Prada *NEW SONG!* + lyrics in description - YouTube[/ame]

Miss may I - colossal

Refuse to be crippled by others around and become a colossus of your own.

Those are pretty good!

Here is another one that I've grown very fond of!

Miss may I - Creations

How could you say you know who I am?

Do you even wonder why I'm here?

The thoughts play back in your head like a film that has been stick on repeat.

Imagine that this picture of me is painted for you.

A portrait is made to hold a moment and moments wish they could live.

Lets make this last become real life art.

Time won't catch us if we refuse to dry.

Changing as we settle into our canvas of eternity.

Hung on a wall that was built for you and I.

Here we are once again and we are the same.

You will see all of this and we will remain the same.

We are all artwork can't you see?

No one will see you like I do.

Why can't you believe?

No one will see you like I do.

We all are art if seen in my eyes.

Seen through the sky that magnifies beauty.

Open your eyes see what I see.

You will never go back to being blind and dull.

See what I see.

I have a feeling this thread will involve a lot of reading lol!

Thanks

I LOVE music. It's my one thing that is always there for me regardless. Bad Mood? I listen to stuff that keeps me there, or have the choice to improve it by changing the song! Good Mood? Great! Let's put on some oldies, have some beers, and cook out!

Here are a few of my faves off the top of my head:

Foo Figthers - Everlong

"Breath out So I can breath you in Hold you in"

Matt Nathanson - Modern Love

"This Modern Love is a taco truck, c'mon take the phone calls baby I'll take all the silence"

Zac Brown Band - Chicken Fried

Pretty much the whole Chorus. If that don't get ya happy, you got problems.

Jeff Buckley - Everybody Here Wants You

"Such a thing of wonder in this crowd,

I'm a stranger in this town, you're free with me.

And our eyes locked in downcast love,

I sit here proud, even now

You're undressed in your dreams with me."

I will stop there. There are a ton of these I can put up, especially from the last five days, given my new outlook and perspective...:D

Me and a friend of mine are gonna try and post lyrics everyday on facebook that reflect our moods or what we find inspiring that day.

Bob Dylan.........

Gotta Serve Somebody

You may be an ambassador to England or France

You may like to gamble, you might like to dance

You may be the heavyweight champion of the world

You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls.

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

It may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

Might be a rock'n' roll adict prancing on the stage

Might have money and drugs at your commands, women in a cage

You may be a business man or some high degree thief

They may call you Doctor or they may call you Chief.

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

You may be a state trooper, you might be an young turk

You may be the head of some big TV network

You may be rich or poor, you may be blind or lame

You may be living in another country under another name.

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

You may be a construction worker working on a home

You may be living in a mansion or you might live in a dome

You might own guns and you might even own tanks

You might be somebody's landlord you might even own banks.

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

You may be a preacher with your spiritual pride

You may be a city councilman taking bribes on the side

You may be working in a barbershop, you may know how to cut hair

You may be somebody's mistress, may be somebody's heir.

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

Might like to wear cotton, might like to wear silk

Might like to drink whiskey, might like to drink milk

You might like to eat caviar, you might like to eat bread

You may be sleeping on the floor, sleeping in a king-sized bed.

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

It may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

You may call me Terry, you may call me Jimmy

You may call me Bobby, you may call me Zimmy

You may call me R.J., you may call me Ray

You may call me anything but no matter what you say.

You're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

Mine is pretty simple... from a little known raggae/punk band called The Aggrolites from the the song Time to Get Tough -

"I've got a lot to do before tomorrow, but I'm a whole lot further than I was yesterday."

Shortly after Tanner was diagnosed I was listening to this and for some reason that line just jumped out at me. At that point I was a little lost, defeated, overwhelmed. That line reminds me that progress is progress in any part of life, and no matter what I've done theres always more work to do. Never stop trying, never slow down, never stop progressing. TIME TO GET TOUGH!

This has to be one of my top go to songs if I'm kinda in a bad mood this song really gets me going and motivated to go fix what is bothering me.

Betraying the martyrs - leave it all behind

Leave it all behind!

Now can be your time,

Leave it all behind

Everyway they molded you,

Everything they told you that

You have to be!

How their words cut through

How their fists broke your mind

If they could see you now!

Human life, you're wasting it all away!

Break through these invisible walls

Those who we have grown up around

Have grown roots to the place

Where they think they need to exist

Never leave, never speak, never open your eyes

To a world with open arms!

You are the weak!

You are the weak, you are the wasteful

Don't scream my name from the depths of hell

Your cries shall be ignored!

Never leave, never speak, never open your eyes to this

world

Never leave, never speak, to this world with open arms

Just live your own way, your own life, and never open

your eyes

Never leave, never speak, leave it all behind!

What will you do?

At the end of your day, if presented with a tapestry of

your life

The very fabric consisting of nothingness, you've

wasted it all away!

We're all given one chance, one chance to make a chance

One chance to make a footprint!

Sit back, eat away your days!

Never leave, never speak, never open your eyes to this

world

Never leave, never speak, to this world with open arms

Just live your own way, your own life, and never open

your eyes

Never leave, never speak. . .

You are the weak the wasteful

Just don't scream my name, from the depths of hell

As your idol hands reach for help!

I am the walker!

We're the example we are the ones that carve with grace

When you look back be it not my face

You will see but blackness, nothing to show

Nothing to show!

We are the roads, you are the broken bridge

We'll be the hunter, you'll be the sacrilege

We are the sun, you are the stormy skies

We are the beauty, and you are sand in your own eyes!

You are the weak the wasteful

Just don't scream my name, from the depths of hell

As your idol hands reach for help!

Music is such a big part of my life. Here are just a few song lyrics I like

Audience of One-Rice Against

"We're all okay until the day we're not

The surface shines while the inside rots

We raced the sunset and we almost won

We slammed the brakes but the wheels went on

We ran away now all my friends are gone

Maybe we've outgrown all the things that we once loved

Run away, what are we running from ?

A show of hands from those in this audience of one

Where have they gone?"

Simple Man- Lynyrd Skynyrd

The Entire Song!

I love the simple lyrics of this song, it just makes me want to put the pedal to the Medal and drive

Ready to Roll- Jet Black Stare :burnout:

"Fast lane through a hurricane

Open road and I'm ready to roll

Put the pedal down right away

Red line and I'm givin' it more

City lights are burning bright behind me

Top down, I push it to the floor

Street signs and the center lines spinning

Burning hot, I feel like I'm ready to roll

Takin' off like a jet plane

High speeds and she's ready to go

Fuel burning like a freight train

Red line and I'm givin' it more

City lights are burning bright behind me

Top down, I push it to the floor

Street signs and the center lines spinning

Burning hot, I feel like I'm ready to roll

Give me room to run,

One more road I'm on

Give me room to run away

I feel like I'm ready to roll"

Listening to "Handwritten" for at least the 23rd time last night...the video literally brings a tear, but actually hearing the words...

Here are a couple lines from the song...

"Pull it out, turn it up, what's your favorite song?

That's mine, I've been crying to it since I was young"

"Let it out, let me in, take a hold of my hand

There's nothing like another soul that's been cut up the same"

The whole chorus to me is amazing. Here is the video in case you haven't seen or heard this song. Please, it will change your day!

There are a lot of song lyrics I love that I really can relate too, however this one just always does it for me! I tell my wife these words all the time. She hates when I do it, but she smiles knowing how much I care and love her!

Dramarama - "Anything Anything"

When I was young I learned a game,

Where love and happiness were the same,

Now I'm older and I don't play,

I found out the hardest way,

I got wasted, she got mad, called me names and she called her dad,

He got crazy and I did too, wondered what I did to you.

I'll give you candy, give you diamonds, give you pills,

Give you anything you want, hundred dollar bills,

I even let you hear the songs I want to sing,

I'll give you anything, anything, anything...

I'll give you anything, anything, anything

(Work and work) Well those cars never seem to stop comin'.

(Work and work) Keep those rags and machines hummin'

(Work and work) my fingers to the bone

(Work) at five I can't wait 'til it's time to go home

Hey

get your car washed today.

Fill up and you don't have to pay.

Come on and give us a play.

Get a wash right away.

Car wash talkin' about the car wash yeah!

Woo car wash

Those cars never seems to stop comin'

Well

Keep those rags and machines hummin'

Ok I'm bumping this back up, I've been going back to my younger days and listening to a ton of blink 182.

Blink 182 - wishing well

Been gone a long time

I kinda lost my way, I can't find it

And I caught a short ride

To the grave and back this season

I can try to get by

But every time I start to panic

I'm a little bit shy

A bit strange and a little bit manic

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeYLdKs3Z7o&feature=related]Blink 182 - Wishing Well (Official Music Video) - YouTube[/ame]

Blink 182 - after midnight

I can't get my feet up off the edge

I kind of like the little rush you get

When you're standing close to death

Like when you're driving me crazy

Hold on as we crash into the earth

A bit of pain will help you suffer when you're hurt, for real

'Cause you are driving me crazy

Bite your lips, your words are robbery

Do you grin inside? You're killing me

All along we talked of forever

I kind of think that we won't get better

It's the longest start, but the end's not too far away

Did you know? I'm here to stay

We'll stagger home after midnight

Sleep arm-in-arm in the stairwell

We'll fall apart on the weekend

These nights go on and on and on

I can't keep your voice out of my head

All I hear are the many echoes of

The darkest words you said

And it's driving me crazy

I can't find the best in all of this

But I'm always looking out for you

'Cause you're the one I miss

And it's driving me crazy

Bite your lips, your words are robbery

Do you grin inside? You're killing me

All along we talked of forever

I kind of think that we won't get better

It's the longest start, but the end's not too far away

Did you know? I'm here to stay

We'll stagger home after midnight

Sleep arm-in-arm in the stairwell

We'll fall apart on the weekend

These nights go on and on and on

Need to get you guys on some of the greats. I'm not even going to name it since you're dead to me if you don't already know the song. ;) (And yes, the irony was intended)

So, so you think you can tell

Heaven from Hell

Blue skies from pain

Can you tell a green field

From a cold steel rail?

A smile from a veil?

Do you think you can tell?

Did they get you to trade

Your heroes for ghosts?

Hot ashes for trees?

Hot air for a cool breeze?

Cold comfort for change?

And did you exchange

A walk on part in a war

For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here

We're just two lost souls

Swimming in a fish bowl

Year after year

Running over the same old ground

What have we found?

The same old fears

Wish you were here
