moguls
How does one clean the merino wool wash mitt? Is it okay to put it in a washing machine? Seems like it might be a bit harsh to wash it with the towels.
0 Dan@Adams
Hi Dave, welcome to the forum! I wouldn't put it in the washing machine, so as to avoid getting all of the fibers twisted together as much. Quote from our other Dave (BRZN), this is how I clean mine as well: "I spray mine out well in the bucket while it's sitting on the grit guard and wring it out to remove all soap. I then hang it on a clothes line in the garage to thoroughly dry, making sure the opening is in fact open for some air flow to the inside." 0 gymrat7953
Add to that process- after the mitt dries take a hairbrush and brush out the naps. Yes I'm serious. After awhile the mitts start to nap up. Remember you're talking to guys who blow dry their rides. Check out the "master blaster." 0 Ricky Bobby
I use a slicker brush for dogs but that should work just fine as well. Slicker brush works good on the wash pads too.
0 BRZN
I don't brush my Merino Mitt. I have two, with one having been purchased prior to Adam selling them. They've never gotten the dread locks like the synthetic mitts do. Just make sure they can dry completely.
0 Mantis
I'm not into them. I like theMicro Fiber Wash mitts , the ones with the noodle looking things on them. I use them and then throw them in the wash with the rest of my micro fiber towels in cold water . I dry on low heat. I have used them for years and they come out every time like new.
